Freeze players have more skill than Firebird players

Firebird takes no skill to use. Just rush straight at opponents. If you die, don't worry 'cause the stupid burn is going to kill the opponent anyways. Freeze takes skill because you have to actually know how to turn your turret while shooting. So, in the end, firebird players don't have to worry about developing skill because the burn makes up for any lack of skill. I think Freeze deserves a big buff because it's one of those turrets with a high skill curve, needing lots of skill to be effective, and Firebird needs to be nerfed to the ground because you're dead anyways from the burn.

So, if you want to be a kool kid, use freeze.

I guess this is a joke, right.? To humaliate that @LeonardoDiCaprio

The most skill required combo is Rail-Hornet. I think everyone agrees. It's not even Rail-Wasp. Using that logic, every other hull & turret in the game should be nerfed to the ground and Rail should be the only super powered turret that can 1-shot-kill any hull ?

I definitely agree on that firebird vs freeze part

Freeze was OP maybe a year or two ago and it was nerfed. Firebird was nerfed not too long ago too. And yes, most freeze players have good core skills (driving + turning turret). Right now, it is the hornet + vulcan + drone combo that is OP if you're into that. Yes, hornet + rail combo requires a ton of skills to hit something. However, there are too many variables at play to make it totally effective, (e.g.lag, map topography, long load time, people bumping into you, wasp with speed boost, the need to get behind a wall for reload) For these reasons, I usually don't like too many of them on my side for MM (cp, ctf, rugby, assault, siege).

But a good Rail-Hornet player can be a game changer, especially with Hornet OD (like killing the flag/ball carrier, showing you enemy JG's health etc)

Hornet + any high-damage turret - because it get one-shot kills even on medium hulls.

So Gauss, Magnum, Rail and vulcan are all popular with hornet htese days.

Heated debate. Let me build on it, as a firebird, yes you can leave your prey burning, but it can still kills you. So when you evade, you still need skill to avoid further damage (even death). While with freeze, once your prey is immobilised then it is easy peasy.
I don't want to leave you cold feet, so I will add the following: what require skills is Isida! You need more skill than with both firebird and freeze. There is no freeze effect and no after-burn that you can shoulder on.

I think it is fine if melee range turrets are considered specialist or tier2 weapons. I dont think a meta filled with fires and freezes is good, but you also want it powerful enough so that a good fire/freezer can outplay the opponents.

For example, I find freeze underwelming in frontal assaults, which is how most viking/freezers use it, but when you speed it up, melee turets work as ambush or skirmish weapons, getting in behind the base and sometimes wrecking entire defenses. I personally enjoy finding those juicy shaft/magnums who forgot to use armor bc they are camping in safety

Soon Hulls be getting temperature alts, also, Firebird module. Case Closed.

Exactly. And all temperature alts are locked behind a lootbox mechanism. So the only reliable way to protect yourself from afterburn, freezing is to buy 500 ultra containers and hope for fire and freeze immunity.

Freeze players have more skill than Firebird players?

Nope. Choice doesn't decide skill.

Freeze requires more skill to be utmost effective, as compared to Firebird?

Yeah. Firebird players don't need to sneak up on enemies from behind or circle strafe them to utilise the turret at its maximum efficiency, but that doesn't mean they don't.

Just cause you use Freeze, doesn't mean you have AUTOMATICALLY more skill than Firebird players.

The title of this topic is misleading.

Yeah using freeze doesnt automatically make you a skilled player, what @sensei_tanker means is that you NEED more skill to use freeze than when using firebird. You need to know how to circle strafe and so to effectively utilize it’s freezing ability. That’s why you see more firebird-wasp players than freeze-wasp players especially in low ranks.
