  1. 1. Should Autocannon be buffed? Increase in impact force? Lesser Damage penalty? Faster Rate of fire?

So i really enjoy the autocannon alteration for smoky, but out of all other turrets, it seems to be underperforming even against drugged targets.

Turrets like Vulcan can still easily shred you even if you are properly moduled and drugged.

Is it a good alteration?

Will it still be significant in higher GS matches?

With Smoky Mk2 of course it isn't too good... although the majority of dmg, in fact, comes from crits and the critical damage doesn't increase that much from Mk1 to Mk7+. The Chance does, though.

If you have the Alteration / Augment (which should be the case because you enjoy it and saw it's "underperforming"), then you should also have seen if it's a good Alt or not. Also, you said yourself that it's "underperforming", soo... ?

But I suppose you have it on another account then ? Or did you watch videos about it ?

I use it on TO mobile. It was pretty good before the buff, but after the buff, it's really good in my opinion. The auto-aim on Mobile allows me to hit almost all of my shots for consistent damage. You can get lucky or unlucky with Autocannon.

If you're lucky, you can get 2 critical hits in 4-5 shots. If you're unlucky, you can get 2 critical hits in 8 shots. If you think it's underpowered against protected players, then use Stock Smoky and compare.

Currently using smoky+incendiary since 90% of the enemies can't resist the after-burn.

May try the autocannon once more - had put it aside for a while.  But at Legend rank I'm seeing a LOT of smoky modules - not sure why with rail/magnum/gauss/vulcan all having their "happy time".

Even before the alterations augment change, I always found some alterations not true to its title. Like Incendiary Rounds and Remote Explosives for Striker, what was the trade off?

For smoky incendiary - loss of critical damage.  So it's a normal shot that also does afterburn instead. And since afterburn protection is now rare - it's a straight buff IMO.

(less of a buff at long range since damage is reduced over distance as opposed to the actual critical)

The burn is reduced at range? Oh...

Not just Legend. Even at these ranks Vulcan/Gauss/Magnum/Rico are completely rekt-ing everything. Add in a few Wasps/Dictator/Mammy/Viking and it's gg for you. You don't stand a chance. And they all just suddenly seem in sync.

Rico's are annoying as heck when there's 2 of 'em.

I don't know why I find so many opponents with Isida modules. I only were it since I combat other Isidas often. I finally get a good angle, and then my damage is minimal.

I think the usage of isida modules were raised from the last set of special missions (I think)  due to one of them requiring you to kill 50 enemies using firebird, freeze, or isida.

Most of them probably just forgot to unequip those modules and equip the more desired ones back on.

why are they more protected against smoky when the other turrets are deadlier? I think smoky should be buffed a bit more >:D

Tried the autocannon again - meh.

I get more kills with incendiary.  Too many protections vs smoky and AC not as good against the many speedy light hulls that get under cover much faster. AC needs to keep on target longer - similar to vulcan.

The Impact definitely needs a buff.  AC seems to just tickle them.

Wolverine explained Incendiary Rounds. Big difference is that the extra damage from the critical shot is not instant like Stock, allowing the use of a repair kit, while Stock critical can kill the guy outright if they're low enough. But while IR has less damage at the start, the afterburn puts pressure on your repair kit, which can be interrupted by the afterburn or by the next Smoky shot.

For RRE, like AGLM, it had a player-born drawback. The drawback is that in learning to use it, you will blow yourself up trying to kill enemies in tense situations. No more spamming the shoot button in those tense engagements. So you have to be more patient which gives the players with good ping slightly more time to kill you, but the upside is that you can hit people around corners, or below your sight, which Stock cannot. Once you play with it enough, the drawback would become non-existant to you and would only be a buff.

RRE's maximum projectile speed is now capped at 400 m/sec (roughly half of Stock) so your missiles are slower overall.

Sad. I guess i will wait for the June anniversary sale and get myself an incendiary... I will save up my crystals for now

edit: had 380k, might as well but it

wOW, I bought the incendiary rounds... it really works better than autocannon. The burn helps kill hiding targets + i am less likely to die since i dont expose myself too much unlike the autocannon! Thank you for your feedbacks!

AC or HPAS?

HPAS is good but really bad in close combat. Either go for AC for close combat or incendiary

If its DM i would prefer choosing AC, but if there are too many smoky modules, i will go Incendiary

Can't I hold them off before they reach me with proper planning?

I really admire the beauty of HPAS. It is highly underrated and I wanna prove it.

Yes, it needs a buff. To be fair I would say yes to buff every equipment (apart from the Hunter's OD - this one ultimately needs a nerf).
