Prohibit the switching of teams in regular PRO battles

You're not serious are you?

As far as major updates go — completely serious. Imagine we had the new interface from the start, and then the next day developers announce that they're changing it to the old version. Everyone would call out ugly, outdated, that it looks like it came straight from the 90s.
If you remove matchmaking, people would complain that they have to manually choose battles and it takes ages to find the right one in the long cumbersome battle list.
If you remove overdrives, people would say the game became bland and boring, and they have no way to retaliate against buyers (which is what ODs are for).
If you remove challenges or special missions, people would complain about losing interest and not having enough free rewards.

The list goes on. The only exception would be removal of direct P2W updates, like those that increased prices and moved various items to the Shop and/or containers.

The new players who joined the game in the last couple years are not familiar with the way the game used to be, so the appreciate the way it is now because that's what's familar to them and that's what they're used to.
Funnily enough, it reminds me of the Thanos quote: "A universe that knows not what it has lost, but only what it has been given. A grateful universe".

P.S
I feel like I'm in the same boat when it comes to Reddit. I started actively using Reddit only after the website got redesigned, and I keep seeing older users comment that the old interface is way better and the new one is absolute trash. For me it's the other way around - I switch to the old interface (still available at old.reddit.com) and it just looks like an outdated inconvenient website, with overly compact content and way too many clicks necessary to see the actual content. The new interface is far more intuitive and I like it way more.
The same probably applies to Tanki, and I would actually be very interested to find and talk to some genuine new players and ask them about their opinion.

I started this game in 2015 - wasn't prefect but it was fun. I'm still around because I have a vested interest in the game with 1 Legend account and 1 started 1 year ago and is General.

If I came into the game today, fresh, without any vested interest, there's not a chance I'd stick around.  Maybe 10-year-olds that like to see things go BOOM might like it.  But not me.  Too much crap in the game and Devs seem like they are just squeezing the last few drops of blood from the stone.

The player-ship keeps going down - harder to find battles that don't have ridiculously wide rank-brackets because system does not have the players.  If new players really liked todays game, more would stick around.  But that does not seem to be the case.

I think the comparison fits, but you fail to get to the actual point. The actual point is mobile use vs PC/laptop use. I do access both reddit and Tanki exclusively via PC/laptop, and thus I want a compact user interface. On reddit I simply use the option to continue using the old interface, and on Tanki I only switched to the new "optimized for mobile" one because the old one will certainly disappear soon and is technically decaying.

I do not know about reddit customers, but for Tanki I can say that I observe good customers, which pay a lot of money for Tanki, overwhelmingly being in the PC/laptop crowd and not the mobile one. So while I do not know if the change hurt reddit (which is offering the old "PC/laptop optimized" interface indefinitely as an option anyway), having only a user interface that is optimized for mobile and not PC/laptop will certainly hurt Tanki's earnings.

Well that's the thing - I don't. Even on PC I find the new interface to be more convenient simply because I've never had much familiarity with the old one, and I found that the new one looks nicer and is easier to get accustomed to. New Tanki PC users are likely in a similar situation.

I will respond to your previous post later, by the way. Don't have time right now.

By and large, I had a 50/50 quota between regular battles (with supplies, and later also overdrives and drones) and PRO battles (without all those for me) over all those seven years.

This number leans more towards standard battles for me, but I also used to play PRO an awful lot back in 2012-2015. I even remember for a certain period of time seeing no-supply PRO battles as superior, and the only way to play the game on the highest level, due standard battles having unfair features like supplies and MUs (which is still true, to some extent). The reason we did this is because PRO battles used to be an equivalent alternative to standard games - there were missions, double fund events, increased gold rates, and all the fun stuff that standard battles had. Nowadays this is no longer the case, and PRO battles have been reduced to a simple custom game feature that you use for specific purposes, while MM is reserved for primary gameplay. Hence, new players from more recent years are getting less and less passionate about PRO battles due to them being far less attractive compared to MM.

Was this Tanki biography exploitation of the game economy?

It wasn't intentional, but it gave you (and everyone else) a significant advantage in terms of ability to earn crystals and remain competitive as a free player. For this reason we had limited additional rewards - only daily missions and very occasional double battle funds and discounts once every few months. Hell, I remember when there was a 5x gold box event and people were going crazy over it because it's such a rare occurrence.

These days though, all the good stuff only exists in matchmaking battles, which are very difficult to abuse and exploit. For this reason developers can afford to give us sales almost every week, x40 (or more) gold events, tons od additional missions, challenge rewards, weekly missions, etc. etc. Granted, things are also more expensive now and there is simply more stuff you need to save up for, but the overall amount of rewards has definitely increased compared to the days when devs were restrictive with bonuses due to the ability to abuse them in PRO battles.

If funds are removed there, this would not deter me from playing them, because I do not care much about crystals any more.

This is great, and I'd be happy to see that there are still players who enjoy competitive games without playing them solely for crystals. In fact, I would love to see developers add some new kind of battle mode where you would fight for "medals" or some other non-spendable items which would allow players to compare each other and compete for glory, rather than playing just for the sake of generating currency to upgrade equipment.

(XP/BP in CP mode, probably the most mesmerizing experience Tanki had to offer, was dead from the day when funds were removed)

Not sure what you mean by "mesmerising" here and whether you mean it in a positive way, but to me these battles were always a joke. Just a mindless crystal/exp grind that's making a farce out of a sophisticated eSports format. If people really enjoyed the actual experience of XP/BP CP battles, they'd still be playing them, but the fact that such battles died when funds got removed clearly shows that they were merely a crystal grinding tool.

Every time when someone tells me that there are cheaters at gold box events, I can’t relate because I simply don’t see it. For me, this is proof enough to support your claim that MM can’t be that easily exploited.

While inflation is kind of to blame for increasing prices as a whole (especially for modules), I can and will admit that crystals are very easy to come by nowadays. A couple of years ago, I would have thought that 100,000 crystals would take weeks to earn, while I can easily make above and beyond in a day thanks to MM having quite good payouts.

This. Time and time again the XP/BP community will try to counter any mention of this kind of behavior, but this is a prime example of why funds were removed. What makes me scratch my head the most is just how entitled a lot of people think they are, thinking that this format is the most important thing in life and that everything revolves around them.

It is a mind set, still for many players the real Tanki is Pro-battle. So everything that touch the game-play in PRO-Battle will hurt them emotionally. They never saw the many problems with Pro-battles, they ignored them before because they had no choice, now with MM, pro-battles looks like a den of pirates and mercenaries ?, but man... it was always like that. ?‍♂️

One day?   How many battles are you playing in 1 day to make 100k crystals?

Enough to know that I play an unhealthy amount, even for Tanki standards.

I completely agree with this. Players only complain about new changes because of their fear that it would disadvantage them somehow. If the game started off in the current state right now and never changed, no one would ever complain.

Just like how Tanki cannot revert all of its updates now, because it has changed so much in the past few years that the old version is almost unrecognisable. Even players who want it to change back would complain, because as much as they would hate to admit it, the game has seen some great changes among some no-so-good ones.

Also, if PRO battles lose both its funds and experience, then wouldn't it literally be a parkour battle? Therefore, if both funds and experience are removed from PRO battles, they might just as well save the bother and delete PRO battles, only leaving parkour behind.

There are definitely things to complain about in the current version, but I guess you mean that we wouldn't complain about things related to previous updates (matchmaking, ODs, PRO battle changes, etc.), which is true.

Um... no

Many complaints are due to the unfair nature of some of the aspects (hornet OD, teams capping flags before opposition has been fully loaded) and also due to they way the game is becomming less fun overall to play - too much attention needs to be spent on grinding for crystals just to keep up with all the expensive items introduced.  My Fox module used to help vs after-burn.  Now I need to spend up to 245k (on each hull) to get back what I already spent hundreds of thousands of crystals on.

Parkour and Pro-battles are NOT the same thing.  Pro-battles allow players to have customized battles - on maps they like, without supplies and/or Overdrives.
