As you may have known, I've been getting some pretty nice rewards from just a small amount of containers as of late. So I'll be explaining the 3 ways that I know of that might influence your luck.

1) Opening containers on mobile version.

What I found out was that tanki seems to be a bit more generous to the mobile users in the subject of containers. Opening at least a years worth of containers on desktop version through a few accounts only gave me a couple animated paints and a skin. Whereas the mobile version in just 7 months gave me a lot of shot effects, a couple skins, 3 animated paints, 2 turret augments, and boatloads of crystals and supplies on various accounts.

2) Opening up more than one container at once.

This one is pretty obvious, the more containers you open up all at once, the better your chances will be to getting something good. So I would recommend to save up your containers till you get at least 5 before opening them up.

3) Opening up containers at a later time or date.

So I have been doing this for all the containers I have received for quite a while now. Once I get done with missions for the week, I would save up all the containers I have collected during that week until the the start of next weeks missions. I guess the motive behind it is to have something to look forward to when I do start next weeks missions.

What I found interesting was that it somehow influences your chances of getting something good. Been opening them at just a couple hours before server restart for a couple weeks now, and that's where the spurt of my luck has been coming from. So it wouldn't be a bad idea to hold on to your containers for a bit rather than opening them on the spot.

This is funny. I'm playing on mobile since the relase date, opened many conts, but I NEVER gor an exotic/legendary.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try the mobile version and see if I have better luck getting a better reward.

Only the developers will know. I imagine them having a good laugh as players create 'container reward' topics endlessly. Many players have claimed about getting assured container rewards by following various rituals

And the devs have yet to release the official data and confirm that certain actions do in fact guarantee better chances of getting something good. So until that happens, we can only speculate what works and what doesn't.

But what if completing certain ( or any for that matter ) actions does not have any effect on containers? What if they are actually only based on giving out rewards randomly? I think it is obvious that container rewards are unpredictable, no rituals can make containers give better rewards.

I don't know. The amount of rare items and better I've been getting these past couple weeks as opposed to a whole year of not doing this, isn't something that I should be shrugging off and thinking that I've been lucky.

That would be like me saying that I've been lucky enough to win the jackpot of a million dollars 24 times in a row. It just doesn't happen.

I don't know about all 3 points but can agree with 2 and 3. Tanki algorithm does give much better stuff that way. Very good article. Noice.

I'm still confused by container rituals / beliefs. I always open mine one at a time, and as soon as I get them.

Sometimes I get runs of mediocre luck, only got one Epic container from my 11th Birthday ones (44 containers), but I opened Legendary containers on the 15th of May, 30th of May, and the 14th of June.

My lowest ranked account has had the worst luck, only one Legendary container and no 100K containers.

Don't you think this phenomenon gives us an insight about how ritualistic behavior might have evolved in Human beings since the stone ages?

No one knows for sure if there's an intentional, grand design behind it all. If I was running the show, I wouldn't NOT think about hardcoding some nonsense like -

If (Rare OR Legendary OR EPIC in Array[Player.Previous100Containers] == TRUE)

{

CurrentContainer = Tough luck;

}

... just to keep them coming back you know?

That said, I feel like I've had better luck opening containers on a long time parked account & getting what I "need" to advance that account.

I use desktop version and i got Dragons Breath for free from the container, simply for doing missions. I also got for free Missile Launcher Cyclone for Striker. I got some others too but this 2 were the best ones. Oh, i also got 100.000 crystals in the container. i opened them imidiately on the desktop. I never use mobile version.

My trick to get good reward from containers is to open as many as you can, the more you open the more good stuff you get.

Just opened 15 containers (at once).

6x 3500 crystals, 8x supplies and  ... drum roll... Paisley Ice paint (it's just brutal this thing is Epic)

Commons, uncommons and a very, very weak "Epic".

What a load of garbage.

That's a typical result though

My last 10 containers were a run of 9 commons + 1 uncommon (RKs)

I like Paisley Ice, but getting a paint you don't like in an Epic still sucks (my last fugly Epic paint was Strawberry)

Anything apart from an augment or 100K crystals is weak though

I'd even prefer a shot effect (for a turret I have).

But more paints?   It's an awful "Epic" reward since 1) I already have 40+ paints  2) You can only equip 1 paint  and 3) it does nothing for me in a battle.

Just a way for the Devs to get us to spend $ when we get crap from containers. It's false hope.

I remember I watched one video from youtuber that find out a pattern for hundreds of containers he opened... so maybe it doesn't depend on lucky or something but in a specific pattern

To be honest, I do not think that there is a specific pattern into getting better things from containers. It is all about luck. I think this because not only have I received great things when being on desktop, but I have also received great things from opening 1-5 containers at a time too.
