Tanki Online will not be at least as good as Flash, but much better than Flash, for sure. You need to understand that was has been said in V-Log 264 that over the past 11 years, operating systems, mobile phones and other technologies were continuously moving forward, so old legacy interfaces like flash, now needs to be scrapped for a much better replacement with the new HTML5 and Android version of Tanki Online. For more information, please watch V-Log 264 now. Don't worry, Tanki Online will deliver a bug free, and perfect HTML5 and Android version of the game that will work perfectly well for everyone.

In the meantime, Flash is being dismantled piece-by-piece until its ultimate death on December 31st 2020.

The colors, the contrast, the super tiny font size, the number of clicks needed to navigate the lobby interface, the fuzziness of the fonts and general graphics, the awkward motion of the tanks (better, but still not close to Flash), poor layout and design, loss of quite a few features, the poor design and layout of the battle interface, and many more problems all go into making HTML a very very poor replacement for Flash.  Most of these things are small if taken individually and could be worked around, but there are dozens of these little problems or annoyances and taken as a whole, make HTML lame at best and unplayable at worst.

The result is that when Flash dies, a very large number of players will stop playing Tanki unless HTML is dramatically improved...which doesn't seem to be much of a priority despite what the devs say.  [...] I know I will be playing much less Tanki when Flash goes unless they improve HTML greatly.

[...] "ask your mummy" [...]

The HTML5 result is not poor at all (this contrast with the other comment "most of this things are small"). It is very similar in its gameplay experience, graphics and content.  A few click is not the end of the word, and I do see what you mean regarding navigation, however that is a trend I see in many website and internet application due to the tablet and mobile compatibility and ease of use. HTML5 provides tools and feature not available on flash that are improvement, but it seems that is has some issue when it comes to the general graphics.

I totally disagree with this gratuitous comment "Lame and unplayable at worst", unless you got motion sickness that is an over exaggerated statement. I think you need to get used to it. It is like when you get a new care or a new bike (depending of your age), it takes some time to find your mark (unless it is motion sickness).

HTML5 is still in development and improvement, so let them know what needs improvement: What would make the HTML5 version awesome FOR YOU?

I still ask my mum about stuff, she is very knowledgeable and her advice are always appreciated.

I guess I'm missing something.  i sure don't see any new features with HTML other than a useless (for me) radar.  There are also a few new things like seeing outlines through walls, but I would count that in the negative column for HTML.

I will grant you that the gamplay is similar in HTML and Flash, but why brutalize the interfaces with poor font size, color, contrast, and clarity?  Why make things less visible than on Flash like scores and points?  Why remove some of the useful features of Flash...like clan tags, mission access during battles, coping names, and others?  The lobby interface takes more clicks to access different parts...and each click takes much longer to load the new page (at least for me).  Flash is much faster to navigate just in terms of loading  not to mentions extra clicks.

I've already listed most of my problems with HTML almost as soon as the "What would ....HTML for you" topic was first coined. Some of my beefs got corrected; most haven't been addressed.  It takes very little to make one format preferable over another and, for me (and I think many others) HTML has many many things that make it less enjoyable.  And it wouldn't take very much to correct most of those things...like font size or some righteous color correction.

Does you mum play Tanki?  My kid used to play but she hated many of the toxic updates that led up to MM and quit playing a couple of years ago.

Perfectly said. HTML5 has so many problems even when you ignore all the performance issues. The news section, general chat and clan chat on HTML5 strains my eyes because the text is SO small. I don't understand why they couldn't keep the text the same size as it is on the flash version of the game. All the words there are small but the chat in battles is huge. The chat takes up too much space (all because the words are a lot bigger) and the chat starts so high up. It's just really annoying. Also, the battle interface on HTML5 is so flashy and is flooded with stupid and useless effects. I would also say something about the horrible camera movements but I think there are enough complaints of that.

How is the experience boost going for Legends? Are Legends accounts happy about this change? If so, please let me know.

It's great because we have double crystals but we don't unlock any new equipment to have to buy. Also, triple experience just lets us get the 40k crystals of the next rank easier. It's win-win.

lol, a little color change and set-up rearrangement of the interface and there you are, lost. I can draw you a map if you need, or alternatively ask your mummy if your need help.
Hopefully other players are not to your level of confusion, or I am a genius, but my niece is 10 years old and she managed perfectly.

I mean it is a fact that 95% of TO community is braindead. Since u have a brain,  u are able to figure out how HTML5 works.

For all non-Legend accounts this is terrible.  Most low-mid accounts are not even playing - and if they do they end up playing against others with 5-10 ranks greater.

END IT.

I am pretty sure 99.9% of the community using HTML5 have no issue navigating within the new UI. They might be confused at first for some of the less used feature but then like any human they will learn and adapt. The 0.1% remaining are just the ones resisting changes.

HTML is easy to figure out and use.  It's just lame and not as usable or efficient as the Flash version.  Therefore it is a less pleasant gaming experience.

We were promised an HTML that was as good or better than Flash in every respect.  That hasn't happened...not even close.  In fact HTML is highly inferior to Flash in almost all (maybe all) aspects...(it's almost gotta be better in something, but I just can't think of what it might be...oh yeah, radar)

Since we are stuck with HTML, I'd like to see the devs follow through with their promise and make HTML more playable with the minimum of features equivalent to Flash.  Make HTML have at least the same features as Flash and let stuff like a new home page slide...fix HTML asap so we can all play on it and enjoy it.

Btw if there are still people who hate the exp boost and don't know how it works i will give you a quick protip:

Team actions, such as capturing a point in CP or healing someone don't give boosted exp.

Essentially only campers/people who farm kills get punished that hard. People who focus on teamplay are okay, probably get more like a 2x boost on both.. Legends farm kills and get a significant boost, all low ranks need to do to mitigate their overleveling problem is focus on teamplay.. You have all been exposed.

All actions have x3 EXP. The EXP earned for teamplay such as healing, capturing flags and points have lower base EXP than killing and happen much less often than killing. You are right the focusing on teamplay will gain you less experience but likely at the cost of much less score and consequently crystals and stars.

If your goal is just to complete missions then yeah, your advice is sound.

Exactly because they don't want to go thru those 15 minutes of understanding, they just see that it's different and because of that instantly say it's bad. That's what happened when it came to Ares on test. Gameplay of it was different and everyone instantly went "Ares bad".

Really? I capped a point, got 15 score and 15 exp. I healed someone for 8 points and gained 8 exp points. I killed someone, got 15 points but 45 exp. Maybe i am miscalculating it though, didn't pay attention prior the change.

You get 5 EXP for capturing a CP point. 3*5 =15.

Here's an example from an ASL battle. Capturing an ASL flag gives 10 EXP. Here I captured 5 flags and I think I healed about 10 score worth of healing on an ally at the beginning of the battle. I think I self-destructed once but I can't remember that confidently.

For Isida's healing, you would get ~ the same amount of EXP as score, since the score you get for healing an ally to full HP from 1 is ~3x the XP you get. The longer you heal someone that is under fire, the more you'd see a gap between the score earned and the EXP earned. But basically, you can say they're almost the same.

Thanks to this big boost, I have managed to rank up to Legend 37 today.

Spoiler

Legend-37.png

Please add something cool to unlock for Legend ranks.

Spoiler

You-have-unlocked-new-items.png

It says (You have unlocked new items). That's not true for Legend ranks. Please add something to unlock for Legends.

Also, due to the high boost funds, I have managed to earn a very high score using Railgun and Viking.

Spoiler

That is so sweet man. I love it. Keep going with this boost. I was also a premium player at the time. This is one of my highest achieved high scores.
