Perhaps they presumed that Vulcan was the main problem. Let's wait to see when Hornet will be nerfed. That's a tall order for some though.

Hornet OD and Vulcan damage have both been issues for game balance.  Together they were a nightmare when on the receiving end.  I am happy to see it has been at least partially addressed.  I've been frustrated lately having to change to the combo as well when facing Vulcan/Hornets.

I hope Hornet OD will be addressed at some point in the near future.  I shouldn't feel such a jolt of happiness when I happen to survive an encounter with a Hornet OD.

To be fair, many other turrets like Thunder, Shaft, and Railgun go well with Hornet's Radar.  However, none of these turrets can match the chaos produced by Vulcan's long-range continuous firing that easily disrupts Repair Kit healing.  Not to mention that no other turret has matched Magnum's quick OHKO/2HKO potential, mostly thanks to Magnum's 2 second reload time at Mk.8. 

Anyways, if I were to nerf Hornet's Radar, I'd just get rid of its current ability to outright negate defensive buffs and replace it with a simple damage boost ability.  That way, Hornet users can still be able to easily rack up kills while also allowing others chances to survive (i.e. under a Titan bubble or escaping to cover in time).

Ah well you see your 1/2 wrong it's HORNET/MAGNUM that have been the issues for a long time now vulcan is only getting noticed because of HORNET nothing else just HORNET. And please don't say you were 1/2 right because 2 wrongs don't make a right and vice versa just accept i'm right and your 1/2 wrong.

Your the first one to mention hornets radar. The radar does not spawn kill you before you have even spawned that would be magnum.

Oh, good idea! Give Premium to everyone, they'll love it.

And those lower ranks that refuse to play MM during these months should be penalized with 5k EXP daily, until Legend. Don't let them get stronger by just doing nothing, it's just not fair, not fair, not fair, not fair, not fair...

Uhh...yeah?  I didn't say that Radar actually spawn kills.  I was talking about the OPness of Radar+Vulcan and Radar+Magnum.

I NO YOU WERE NOT  what i am saying is that hornets radar is not the problem its the ability to wipe out multiple enemies with 1 shot when paired with magnum.forget the radar ...i already have nuff sed.

Oh I see...My bad then.  So do you think cutting Magnum's splash radius in half would be a good start for a potential Magnum nerf?

As for nerfing Magnum's damage itself...hmm.  I wouldn't mind nerfing Magnum's max damage to 1450 or something similar, such that a DD+Radar Magnum direct shot doesn't KO medium hulls.  But that'd be too much in Tanki's eyes, I reckon.

The splash damage distribution for Magnum is not good right now. What makes Magnum strong is RGC that makes it do 100% of its damage most of the time because they are getting direct hits. Cutting Magnum's splash damage radius in half will only exacerbate the problem.

I see...so damage nerf it is (as I mentioned in my edited comment above).  It'd be interesting to see Magnum's damage be nerfed to the extent that it can't KO medium hulls with DD+Magnum shots.  It'd sure ruin many Magnum players' plans for the long-range Special Mission for this weekend.

Yet we all know it's not.  Getting one-shotted as I spawn by RCG magnum-hornets is more than a little annoying.

And we all know we will see more of those now that Vulcan has been nerfed by 20%.

The Devs have no clue how to balance - surprised they didnt cut damage by 40%.  But that would be ... silly...

Something would need to be done about RGC and not Stock Magnum. Given the new philosophy for the Augments, nothing may change with RGC.

Magnum would not be nearly as annoying if it could not one-shot fully protected targets.

Gauss is the issue with Splash - too much and for too wide a radius...

In which case, a damage nerf may be the only way to go.  If RGC was simply an alteration, then adding a 25% damage reduction effect would be fine.

Too bad the developers love making OP stuff instead of good game balance.

Well im happy they nerfing vulcan since it was so annoying to see vulcan/hornets. They should probably move on to nerf magnum/gauss. Also when will shot effects for thunder and smokey come out?

Still not playing until overdrives and drones are gone.
