Hope old version will bring flash back in game as well as game download page

Not possible. Flash's EOL (end of life) is in this December. However, you can still play Flash at the mean time until it get completely unsupported.

Why did they have to make hmtl5 so complex? They could’ve made it more simple and easier to navigate like flash. The pro battles section looks way ugly too : ((

Devs made the whole thing overly complicated. Imagine Tanki:

  • without overdrives that kill you instantly at random
  • without drones and alts that cost you kidney
  • without constant use of supplies

That's what Tanki has been in the past when everybody liked it.

As someone who first learned to play on HTML5 and who uses HTML5, I think that neither client is objectively superior to the other. It’s only a question of familiarity. To me the Flash version looks clunky, cluttered and hard to navigate. Playing in it is a real pain, the feel is completely different and I’m unable to play at the same level as I do in HTML5. The most off-putting things are a harder to read interface and the weird lag in camera movement (I use mouse controls). Not to mention, of course, the lack of radar and tank outlines. Ironic isn’t it?

My point is not that the Flash version is worse than the HTML5 version, not at all. What I mean is that it’s different. Very different. I understand why it’s so hard for people to switch over. But again, that doesn’t mean the HTML5 version is worse.

In my case I’d choose HTML5 over the Flash any time of the day. Yes it looks watered down, the loading times are long, and some features are missing but at the end of the day it’s all very manageable. To me the Flash version’s only true advantage is a way better designed pro battle menu, but since I don’t use those it doesn’t affect me.

tl;dr: I can’t play on Flash, so to each their own I guess.

Congrats! You are the true new breed of tankers that devs were hard at work cultivating couple recent years. Enjoy!

Yeah, I gotta say I understand the transition is challenging and I am humbled when I realize the history of this game. My brother has been playing this game for 5 years, and from talking to him it feels like the devs have been creating a new game out of an old one. And that must've been quite a shock for those who saw it happen. So in a way I understand the feeling that "Tanki is dead". I guess I'm just the lone player on this forum who's from the "new breed", and admittedly it seems hard to tell how many new players this game has. I just hope it survives the death of Flash.

I prefer the HTML5 version and for me, the key is stability. I play mainly on old hardware, a CPU circa 2009. Yes, tanki works on very old hardware but I have fast internet. Flash was very unstable on my setup and because of security flaws, a new version is released every couple of weeks.

I have to say, I kind of liked the old client better.

As @JESUSaves2 pointed out, the new client uses a lot more resources. So much, in fact, that it sometimes crashes my computer (which is saying a lot; I run a quad-core i7 desktop with plenty of RAM.)

Also, I liked the layout and feel better. Specifically:

  • Being able to access Missions from in a battle
  • Easier access to the Battle List (MM is fine, but I kinda miss Esplanade)
  • Not having the Battle List's scroll level reset every time you try to get information about a battle
  • No red outline on tanks when you are targeting them. It makes it impossible to camouflage your tank, something I used to do quite often.
  • Shaft. That's literally all I need to say. Just "Shaft".
  • No thirty second loading screens.

I love the HTML5 for many of the stated reasons.

The only real negative in my opinion is that I no longer can play shaft in scope mode. As a quick scoping player it is unplayable...too jerky and jumpy to smoothly track players. So I have invested more time playing vulcan, thunder, smoky, and rico. None of those are very dependent on the fine tuning a scoped shaft is dependent upon. So if you are a shaft player, just be prepared...it is awful!
