I actually quite like this idea. Why not post it in Ideas & Suggestions?

Unable, what if players decided to edit his profile and upload it back?

Just watched the V-log. Did they really teach me how to flip Ares? Why would I need to know such useless information? Why would I need to know how to flip my own hull? Why?! WHY?! That part of the V-log was incredibly stupid.

I despise how they're removing the missions tab on Flash. They shouldn't be shoving HTML5 down our throats! They might as well get rid of Flash tomorrow! I can't believe how they're destroying history as well as their own game.

That is call archiving and they are properly doing it as it is very common in enterprise. Yet, after all, you still have to pay extra to store the old data. I personally OK with this practice.

They can archive account data even from accounts older than 2 years, only the nickname could be in the game.

Then when a player comes back after 2 years, the game could tell them that thier account will be ready the next day, after it's loaded again when server restarts.

I don't think it's a lot of data to archive. And it could also serve as another back up.

Yeah, of course, you are right. I would be better for setting a rank limit to have accounts deleted after three years. Low rank accounts should be deleted after three years and high rank accounts should always remain on the servers, regardless how long players have been absent.

Well, "how to flip Ares" was useless, but that's what the segment is all about- now V-LOGs will have this segment where they'll give completely useless advice... that's pretty useful (meh).

As Viking4s mentioned before, there are easier ways to flip Ares, than toiling up to the top of a building only to jump down. But, they won't mention them, as it might turn out to be useful. Honestly, it's the best way to avoid complaints- you can say "The segment is meant for useless advice".

On a serious note, useless advice segment is useless. Please don't add it to increase the video length. Make the videos to the point.

I didn't understand why is Tanki destroying Flash before it's natural death. Let players enjoy Flash to the fullest while they can!

Because maintaining two clients is a pain. Once Flash shuts down, development will become easier.

Personally I'm used to HTML5 now coz Chrome gave me no choice lol. Hope they improve it fast!

You are right it is not about archiving, it is about other things that Tanki is not telling you. They only shared one, one scapegoat so they can reasonably explain the server issues they had during summer time. Tanki is summer cleaning the database to start afresh for the new school year.

As mentionned in this VLOG, Tanki wants to delete accounts that haven't been active during the last 3 years, but it will be so dramatic for the forum, or even the story of tanki overall, it's like burrying the past, but anyways, I know that this suggestion is going to be denied since it's regarding future actions, but i want to say it anyways

The idea to make this update less drastic on the game would be to delete every account that has less than 10000 experience points (or somewhere around that) that hasn't came online once since last year, This would clean up more accounts than you can imagine, and won't have any consequences or complaints from people that came back after the update, since those small accounts are the main reason of the data surcharge. And form my point of view, doing this is worth more than deleting every single account that is inactive from the last 3 years.

Was a suggestion afterall, shouldn't be here since i won't get my answer in here lad.

It was brought here because it is relevant to this V-log and developers check these topics frequently, so they would be able to take into account your input.

This is the development team of tanki we're talking about. They haven't been doing anything right for the past year and a half except for a few occasions. They're priorities are all out of whack.

Sadly I've already gotten used to it and even accepted that reality.

I am disappointed that developers chose to remove any accounts after three years of inactivity. At least, they should improve this update as to remove low ranks and keep high ranks.

What are the updates coming to Flash. Why are developers planning on release updates for Flash, whilst Flash is being discontinued at the end of this year? That makes no sense.

I could be forgetting something, but what updates were they talking about? I don't think there are any more updates for Flash anymore. Updates for Flash have ended after 11 years.

If updates ended for Flash 11 years ago, then why did Tanki Online was created in the Flash version instead of creating this game in HTML5 in 2009?

As I was reading, it was around 2015 when Adobe decided to end Flash.

Flash will still get patch updates until the end of this year. But after that there'll be no more patch updates, not even security patches.

You didn't read my post correctly. I said that AFTER 11 years, the devs have stopped updating the Flash version of the game. They're not updating Flash anymore because it's closing and HTML5 is here to replace it. Adobe wasn't planning to close Flash all the way back in 2009. The developers simply didn't know that all this was going to happen.

Instead of making Flash worse, why not spend development time in trying to make HTML better?

...or is that too complex of an idea for the devs?
