Hopper: a person or thing that hops. It could be a temporary code name though. Or a misleading information.

Preferably, it would be even better if developers made an interface to change the names of each and every turret, hull and other equipment alike in the garage. This way, players would be more happy being able to choose their desired nicknames for all the equipment they own in their garage.

They might, but other players that would interact with you would not understand you, and you would not understand them. Have you thought about that?

Players that interact with other players will not see the name change of turrets and hulls. Only you, the player that changed the name would see it in your garage.
