Garage description:

Light hull. It soars above the surface with outstanding maneuverability. Its Overdrive doesn't just stun and set fire to enemy tanks but also tosses "Hopper" up into the air so it can jump over obstacles.

The "Hopper" hover tank uses the maximum available antigravity engine resources to let the tanker pursue their dream - flying up to the sky far away from danger. Instead of armor and a defense system, the hull has a detonation jumping engine that can toss your tank up to significant heights. Antigravs provide stability in the air creating enormous tactical opportunities. An opponent who is unlucky to be near you at the moment of your jump will regret it. The detonation engine instantly ionizes the air, stunning and torching everything that crawls on the ground. Are you daring enough to break through the enemy's defenses or perform a surprising escape with the flag? "Hopper" can do both.

I really like the burn and stun, making those with maxed out gear more vulnerable. The bounce mechanic is really fun as I can now finally YEET myself out of tricky situations lol Hopefully it becomes more available to the general public soon.

Need comparables... please

As ThirdOnion said.

It passively charges at the same rate as Wasp, but it gets slightly more Overdrive charge for gaining points in battle. Hopper has the best of both those parameters, making it the fastest recharging Overdrive in the game currently (sans Juggernaut of course).

Twins look dope on Hopper.
Worst is Firebird.

It might jump to cap, but it is easy to aim and kill  when in the air. Just need the defender team to be more alert and place mine where they usually jump from.

I just bought Hopper on sale, but I can't turn the hull or turret. How does it work? Is there a link to the controls somewhere?

You can turn your the turret (and tank) with mouse and keyboard contorls. The tank faces always the same way as the turret. You can enable the mouse controls from settings.

The OD is absolutely ridiculous.  In Desert JUG a hopper was hiding behind the upper wall that surrounds the field.  BEHIND the wall.

And it's stun lasts as long as Hunters?    LMAO.

No wonder i just leave RGY/Assault battles when I see 2+ hoppers on other team.

Stats from the Wiki

Specifications

  • Wave burning damage: 150 (hp/sec) /? How many second that wave last? It's on top of the 300hp/s of the burning?!
  • Wave size: 1700 /? What the frack is that number?
  • Radius: 20 m / That's wide, nearly as wide as Hunter
  • Speed Jump: 1300
  • Burning duration: 9 sec / that's 2700 HP damage (max is 10 seconds with Firebird) - remember that if you are a Freeze you can help your teammate and reduce the burn by cooling them in about 2 seconds.
  • Stun duration: 3 sec

Interaction with other overdrives

  • None

Additional Information

  • Opens new doors to new gameplay and tactical advantages. / Like sabotaging and trolling ?
  • Ability to jump on buildings and other unreachable spots.

Turned out that for some reason with hopper, the settings were automatically set to mouse controls instead of keyboard. I had to change it in the settings, which is strange because I don't use mouse controls ever. Thanks for your help!

@TheCongoSpider, @Maf, @Viking4s Good tankers,  what do you guys think - Does hopper jump higher with lightweight augment?

If it does, then I will consider buying a battle pass for this challenge.

I have no idea, there are many mechanics regarding weight, power and speed parameter that we do not know how they interact with each other. Hopper is also a brand new floating mechanics, what principle it follows? This hull augment is also full of mysteries.

So you are down to observation. When used on a normal hull, it makes them more sensitive to push, recoil and impact force. Impact force and recoil is the energy that make hull fly higher in Parkour tricks, with it you can get mammouth on top of building. I do not know if it make then go faster (top speed), but it will make accelerate faster (shorter time to reach top speed). But are these 2 parameter linked? or both are fixed and independent?

When the hopper had another hopper on top of it it could not jump, we can assume that it is due to the extra weight. So if you lighten your hopper with this hull augment we can assume that it would jump higher.

You need to do experimentation to find out.

@At_Shin

Gallows humour maybe

I've had some frustrating encounters with Hoppers recently, like one with Thunder and "small caliber charging machine" that got several caps in ASL, and some in Juggernaut where they are very difficult to hit with the Juggernaut's rail guns at close range, but it's not worth getting angry about them any more

It's more about the stun & burn than the hopping, a Wasp or Hornet with Hopper's OD but no hopping would score goals easily too
