In Parkour, it's pretty hard to kill Hoppers imo. I only found few ways to beat them: Heavy Capacitors and Shaft (the No-Supply way, because I can one-shot them even if they have DA and some slight Protection), and Hornet OD and Striker with the Hunter Augment (because the lock-on is very quick and follows their hull, and with Hornet and DD it's a pretty much guaranteed kill). Or of course Light Capacitors and DD.

Oh ok, and maybe Gauss as well. But other Turrets don't really work well if the Hoppers are drugging non-stop. Mixed feelings about Magnum.

 

Edit: Railgun with LCR is an option, but it's too easy to miss them when they're jumping around like crazy

Well, it all starts when someone else starts shooting me out of nowhere, so I'm shooting back, then someone else destroys me and soon it turns into a war ?

Usually, I'm peaceful there and doing Parkour and helping others, but yea

 Enze is about to release. 

Same distance and same height. There you have it:

- Lighter weight gained with Light weight construction augment seems to not affect the top speed.  
- Lighter weight gained with Light weight construction augment seems to not make you jump higher.
This mean that top speed parameter and the weight are both fixed values that do not interact.

Do you really need the Hopper to get higher? 
It is not far from the GB max height. Reaching higher building in MM is not advantageous as it will be difficult for you to shoot close enemies, you would need to lean more. It could be useful for maps with high level (like Silence or Lost Temple) or over the dry river bed of Berlin. But there is not that many map like that in MM.
As I said in the October B challenges this Construction augment is useless for Hopper. The heavy one might have been better for this hull in term of ramming and when competing against other Hopper.

I love this advice from the help site about how to Defending Against Hopper's Overdrive
1) Equipping the Heat Immunity Hull Augment
2) Using the Stun Immunity Hull Augment

No other solution for free to play players?
Lol, most of the gif are with Hopper equipped with Crisis drone (very helpful).

It's not the wiki - it is the Help site. It is a kind of redundant info website, but it focus on players problems.
This article as some out of date info to as it says 10 seconds burning and 4 seconds stun, while the wiki says :

  • Burning duration: 9 sec
  • Stun duration: 3 sec


I opened many containers on several account and did not get any epic too. Dont; get to work out about it, you need to be very lucky or open 1000 of them. So just forget about them, focus on what you can get and that would be now the biweekly challenges with the skin containers and the augments rewards.

I just looked at your profile, from what I can see straight away is that you have too many Turrets at Mk5: 5 of them!!!! and 2 Mk5 hulls, that's ok. 

You can't afford these, no F2P can that, that is a grave mistake. If you want to get better quickly you must focus your next buying and Micro-upgrade on one Turret and one Hull only! And buy it from the crystals product kit shop. Look for how many crystals are required for this kit and save as much as you can. Stop upgrading the protection module of the turret you are going to buy (as it is part of the product kit), so select right now which Turret is best suited for you because you are going to play only with this one for a while. Stop buying and micro-upgrading any hull and save crystals. Wait till you can afford Mk7 crystal kit combo. You are going to suffer but that is a necessary step. 
In battle stay beside strong players, or away from big fights, stay close to dictators and titans to benefits from there Overdrives and the large hull protection. You have Hunter so use it to protect flag, base and goal. As for now use Gauss with either Hunter or Hornet.

It's burn does 2700 damage (enough to kill mk7+ light hull, or an mk3 with DA)

And it's stun lasts as long as Hunters.  That's in addition to being able to avoid many obstacles and mines.

Not sure how you figure it is not OP.   ?

The player I mentioned in that ASL battle wasn't jumping on the buildings or anything, they were just charging at the cap point (Mk 6 Hopper with DA/DD/SB) and stunning / burning anyone in their way and capping

I use Hunter's OD to cap in ASL often, but I have to time it right because of the delay (which I don't mind) whereas Hoppers get instant stun & burn

I wouldn't mind the burn that much if I could still fight back or prevent it from capping or scoring, but I think the stun is OP

it is not fair for hunter that Hopper has
1/ an instantaneous stun effect
2/ an overdrive not affected by other overdrive (unlike Hunter that can be disabled by an enemy HUnet overdrive)
3/ A faster overdrive charge per battle point and per second!!

Because it is not nearly as easy to deal with as you suggest.

And... I've run into a ton of them in Rugby, CTF and Assault battles.  They are always on top of the scoreboard.

You even admit it's stunning effect is OP.  So... if even one of it's effects is OP... the OD itself is OP.  How do you not connect the dots on that?

That's why I wouldn't really join battles where Lieutenant Colonels can join. Generally, I aim for my Rank (Captain) as the maximum, if I'm generous then maybe Major as well. Anything above Major is basically 9999 GS players already lol

Also there are some WO3's and WO5's with 9999 GS, but they don't bother me - because I'm doing nothing bad, so... ?

 

I actually prefer No-Supply Battles, but nobody is joining those ?

yes, i agree. Last year they were meteorite gold boxes:D my hopper is my1 so i don't well with hopper:/

Poor hunter tired of chasing enemy team to stun them with 1 second delay --- contradicta Hopper is faster than hunter + with immediately stunning the enemies.

But wait Tanki didn't stop at this, no they add to it jump effect with quicker charge percent and igniting the enemies.

It's like a slap from Tanki to the Hunter players, I don't know that's hate or just a personal hate or what?

For those who says burning effect last up to 9 seconds, ok? what do you want, you want it just in 3 seconds or immediately kills you?

Had hopper only burned enemies, people would have defended themselves with DA and heat augments. It would have made hopper weak for MM battles.

I propose 3 ideas for weakening its stun -

1) Stun enemy turrets,  not their hulls. They will still be able drive to safety and use overdrive. Hunter would finally be able to survive 1.1 seconds.

2) Reduce stun time or add a delay to stun like hunter.

3) Replace stun with another status effect. I had an idea about an effect which distorts images on enemy's camera. Maybe hopper could 'blind and burn instead of stun and burn'.

It looks to me like the hopper have a variety of everything, stun - ignite - jump,

so with this combination it should not be the best at everything, it should be on average.

So the burning shouldn't do more than 900 damage, and the stunning effect shouldn't drop the flag and shouldn't last more than 1 second, Jump effect should still the same.

And one of those two should be removed (stunning - burning), and the second still with the same nerfs... or make this combination of 3 parameters stay but nerf them more than what I suggest.

It doesn't. Tanki has two types of physics interactions - those that include weight, and those that do not. Thing like impact force and knockback do take weight into account. But acceleration due to gravity and Hopper's OD act separately and are not affected by weight.

I've actually seen people use it effectively to launch themselves in the air to catch golds during such events. That was, of course, before hopper was a thing.

Opex confirmed it does not affect the height of the jump because the weight is not take into account in its mechanics: see Russian live stream ~1:50:00

I am not such a crazy guy. Not gonna buy this battle pass only to hit the map ceiling in space mode and self destruct.

Maf is an Helper. Opex is a developper.
Both said the same thing, which proves that Maf is someone we can trust.
