What's a fairly reasonable GS to have at the rank of colonel?

Some of you might have known that I posted an idea for this to be an actual feature. But in terms of its actual implementation, it's not going to happen. Which is why I'm going make this topic so that it can be used as a resource or in better explanations, a guide.

 

Please do note that "skill" has nothing to do this topic, so be careful not to make the same mistake a certain mod made.

 

Anyway, so how this topic will work is I choose a rank, and you guys discuss on what you think the most reasonable GS for that rank and vote for it in the poll and about every week or two, I'll get the results in and go on to the next rank to discuss.

 

So the first rank to discuss is : COLONEL

On this account (Colonel, but ranking up soon) I'll have a GS of 6840 on Monday when I'll have a Mk6/10 hull, Mk6/10 turret, and three 35% modules

Any augments add up to 200 points to that

But some of that was luck with the Mk update

I think a Colonel should have at least 6000+ GS without augments, a Mk6/10 turret or hull + a Mk5/10 turret or hull + three 25-30% modules

Hmm. I would love to hear what @wolverine848 @TheCongoSpider @Maf thinks here.

 

Also, if someone has a fully MUed mk6 hull and turret and all three protection modules are 35%, what would their GS be if they didn't have any augment or drones equipped?

 

Ah, never mind about that second question.

What progression rate and type of player are we basing this on? 

 

Are we basing it on x1 EXP or x4 with the frequent-enough x8? I assume the player in question is starting an account today with whatever multiplier of experience we set from the last question. Is it an experienced player who knows how to budget and knows the mechanics of turrets and hulls which suit them? Or is it a player completely new to the game? 

 

I'll be using my experience on my two Warrant Officer accounts to give a recommended GS depending on the rank, as those two accounts did not have an advantage from past updates when I started playing them recently.

GS could be BS. I only use 2 augments (yes, the Vulcan Band + Heat Immunity) and just drug up. Sure, I might be able to last longer by a shot or two if I had modules, but this way is fine. My GS is 200 and that is because of the augments alone. Everything else is a flat Mk1 0 with no modules. Hunter is so useful! And I haven't even used the Lifeguard drone yet. Batteries not included.

Highest possible GS for a buyer is 9999 GS

Highsest possible GS for a non-buyer is 7439 GS

though 7500 is impossible the Average should be around 5000

I am really interested to know where you are getting these figures from. What calculations did you do to reach the conclusion "7439 is the maximum GS for non buyers". Please do share. Any player can achieve max GS without buying. The only difference between buyers and non buyers is that it will be quicker for a buyer to reach higher GS if they are buying more crystals and therefore upgrading equipment faster.

If we are basing this on x4/x8 I have no idea - my last account ranked up to Colonel before all that silliness.

It had 2x mk6/10 hull and 2x mk6/10 turret and a mixture of mk6 and mk5 modules - about 10 in all.  Also had the trooper drone and about 3 - 5 augments.

 What you said is correct in 2014 and those years, maybe until 2018. Maybe you didn't enter the game for a while

If you enter to the product kits you will note that Mk7 kits available with Tankoins in Lieutenant Colonel.. so buyers can buy it, and with MU's it's Mk7+, and with drones they can reach 9999 GS..

But in those ranks for a non-buyer and before Lieutenant General, the Max item you can get is Mk6 items, with MU's it's Mk6+ == Mk7 and with protections Mk6+ and Maxed drones.. you can technically reach 7439 with those items

In real, just a few of Mk6 items are available in Colonel (the rank what we discuss in topic) and the drones are hard for non-buyers because it consumes a lot of druggers, and most of players in those ranks just have Mk5.. so I assume the Average best GS for non-buyer is around 4800 - 5400

This is just my opinion guys, and maybe everyone have a perspective from another angle

This is just absolutely outrageous! This is why balance is a myth in this game. Once the shop offered me an Mk5 tank (Hull, Turret, & Protection) at Warrant Officer 3!!!

This guy is basically a Colonel but at Warrant Officer 5!!!

It shouldn't be too low otherwise you're just cannon fodder for all the stronger sharks. And it can't be too high because it'll be quite difficult to achieve.

 

Well, a GS range of 5000-6400 is the most reasonable out of the original twenty choices that were on the poll. It's still a large gap though, so it'll need to be narrowed down even further.

They just do match making with ranks while completely ignoring GS? That's fine. Yes, it is unfair. But hey those guys paid. 

 

But when you get to General and realize you constantly facing Legends with their 9k GS. At that time you are wondering, what in the world are the Devs doing? How hard is it to just match Legends against Legends?

I would have said ~ 6000-6200.  But with exp boost I think that's too optimistic as ranking outpaces crystals.  Maybe with 1 combo and fewer modules it's possible.

I'm assuming the recommended GS is for the combo that produces the highest number for them.

 

If the player is a completely new player, then my recommended GS for Colonel is 4,900.

If the player is an experienced player looking to have an advantage as much as they can, my recommended GS for Colonel is 5,800. 

 

So my fairly reasonable GS for Colonel would be around 5,200. It will vary depending on the specific equipment they're sticking to. 

 


My 2 WO4 accounts have at least 3,300 GS. I often find myself in battles against other Warrant Officers with 1,000-2,400 GS. Sometimes I see players with under 1,000 GS.
