May I suggest to think this way : are the augments of the gold rewards strategic for your equipment? If neither Firebird nor Hopper are part of it, wait for another challenge to spend 500 tankoins. Particularly if you think that, with the new system of star rewards, you may cover all of the tiers most of the time.

Whoa, really?

Well this is totally my personal opinion, but Tankoins aren't worth buying for real money. Almost nothing in the game is actually worth buying for real money. I feel it's insanely overpriced.

Honestly, I suggest that you save up enough tankoins for coinboxes, and try you luck at getting a decent amount of tankoins from them. I do that nowadays, as I'm a complete non-buyer. It's the best use of tankoins. It takes a lot of time the non-buyer way, but well, according to Lolkiller's guide as well, we should be patient and not overwork ourselves...

That's great advice!

Ma'am, you misunderstood me. I wish to buy 400 tank coins so that I will have 580 tank coins tomorrow in my account. I wish to use 500 of those 580 tank coins to buy a battle pass.

ok for just the star pass to get both rewards .. yes and no .. for me I'm only getting drugs mainly from the containers , there has been a small amount for the augments or at the end xt skins.  so its really what your after. next time around I'm only getting the pass and skipping the premium account .. sure it gave me the double crystals but I'm now only using them for upgrades and nothing else.

just complete the challenger today with 3024 stars.

still have new weekly mission with x00 stars saving for next mission.

first time complete challenger, great updates, but this month challenger the reward for gold tire not so good,

I would spend hard earned 406 coins with next challenger 100 coins on better hull alternations. (hull alternation is the only thing worth the 500 stars nowadays, since they are more useful in battle and hard to get for free player)

also, maybe wait for Xmas, as battle pass at 50% only cost 250 coins. so better make use of most value out of free coins.

also, for 2 weekends with 4x XP,

I rankup up in 4 days to legend 19 from legend 18. it used to take me 2 month to rankup 1 level.

for end ranks, at least more 40k crystal free every 1 week, even though I already got 9999 gs

Buying hull immunity augments, in particular fire immunity and EMP immunity, at discount certainly is a good investment for your enjoyment of the game. If you are a small account, buying a combination well beyond your peers in the shop also enhances enjoyment significantly. This also used to be true for premium and "battle passes", at least before the further infantilization of the game with the parameter change and challenge update (I only buy that now if the hull augment of that challenge has much use for me).

You deserve a prize for the worst advice I ever read in this game forum. Actually the opposite is true: Never waste money on lottery tickets. Do targeted purchases of exactly the stuff you want, and use discount (preferably 50 percent, if you can wait) opportunities to do them. This is true both for life and for this game.

LOL thanks! ?

Well, since I'm a total non-buyer, and I feel almost nothing in the game is worth buying for real money (personal opinion alert!), getting Tankoins is super tough! You can at most get them from contests like The Game, or some giveaways and stuff, but hey, I have never taken the game that seriously! I play just for fun!

Getting tankoins from weeklies is the only sure way to get tankoins. If you manage to save up 150, which is a great feat in itself, then here are your options: 10 coinboxes, 1 container, 1 UT container, 15 Country paints, and maybe a Goldbox, or nowadays some supplies and premium. Now out of this, according to me, it's best to get 'em 10 coinboxes, coz you get a chance to get more tankoins. I admit that you rarely get more tankoins than you pay, but if you do get more, you could buy a decent kit, or buy more coinboxes, or get a battle pass, or buy a hull Immunity. It's very similar to gambling, but I feel it's the best option for those who don't spend real money on the game.

In real life, obviously my way of handling finances will be different. Gambling is like hitting an axe on your foot instead of wood, in real life. But virtually, when you have practically nothing at stake, I love to experiment. This is a game, and I treat it that way. I enjoy the community more! I sometimes feel I like the Forum more than the game!

To me, it's more about meeting and playing with wonderful people around the world, than playing the game super seriously and overworking myself.

Of course, there are people who feel quite differently from me, and well, that's the reason we have buyers, that's how the game thrives, and I respect that. I am grateful to those who buy. Due to them I can play one of my favourite games and enjoy it (most of the time).

Regarding discounts, they are useful only for crystal-based purchases, coz you hardly get enough tankoins, and I do use them as wisely as my small brain can allow...

You are better off saving TKs until you have 2.5k which can be used on a 50% sale to buy hull augments.

IF you really, really feel the need to "gamble" you are better off buying a Battle-Pass if you have progressed well in a Challenge.  You get a ton of supplies, a lot of crystals and a lot more Containers + some augments.

ok for us buyers this event is way too easy . for non buyers its due-able to be completed in normal time.

I understand players who don't buy need stars .. but there has to be some sort of happy medium for both of us.. see normally  daily will get you 170 if done all three per day.. but when you get weekly missions ( see below ) like 450 stars with in 5 days to complete . then you zoom  up ...sure we only get 1 per week of these but still its like were only now doing missions and leaving . when tanki should be encouraging us to stay and spend time battling or  buy .. Don't you want our money  .. or what ?? .. what is tanki up too ..

I am not too much of a buyer in Tanki Online. When I stared this October challenges, I had no premium account. I was able to complete all challenges (tier 50).

I did this by playing each day for about 30-40 minutes only MM and completing the daily missions with out missing out any. This update really helped me out. This update has also helped many non-buyers to get the whole free tier reward without missing out any of them.

I hope they do not decrease the stars for the weekly and daily missions anymore.

You can do that 2x per Challenge - it's a 7-day cycle.  And they upped the total by 1000 to 3000.  900 is < than the increase.

Get the Top-3x15 and you may not be able to do the first one during the 2-week Challenge.  That's 700 instead of 900.

Currently there's still no compelling reason to complete a Challenge for non-buyers unless they spend 500 TK on a battle pass.

What does this mean?  I looked at your profile - you saying you got all those animated paints through luck?

Get the Top-3x15 weekly mission in your first slot and you will be singing a different tune.

While I was doing the current challenges I had no premium nor battle pass. I completed all missions and weekly from day 1.

The older challenges were tough because all the 1k stars were to be from battles.

Just saying in comparison the current updated challenges are better than older ones

Um, I won't lie, but saving up more than 200 tankoins is extremely difficult if you don't buy.

I'm currently trying a new (new for me, old for many others) experiment, though. I'm saving up weeklies on this account, which is WO5 right now, and planning to open them all at once at Legend. I'll definitely have at least a hundred weeklies by then, which is 300 tankoins. Even this isn't an impressive amount. If I manage to get 500 tankoins, I'll definitely save them for a good challenge which will have the augments and paints that I really want, and then buy a battle pass.

That's all I think that can be done. 2.5k tankoins is a distant dream for me... do let me know how you think a non-buyer can get that amount, without excessively participating in tough contests or giveaways.

But thanks for the advice!

Also, I don't really buy coinboxes coz I feel "a need to gamble ". I simply buy them coz, as I mentioned, I feel that they are the best use of tankoins (for non-buyers that rarely accumulate more than 150-200 tankoins...).

If you complete 4 challenges you will get 400 TC. By the time you would have accumulated 144 TC from the weekly containers => 544 TC max. So technically every 2 months you can buy a Battle pass and get the Skin container. The thing is that you need to cherry pick the challenges with worthful augments from the gold tiers. The Skin containers is always random, so you can't chose the outcome. In a year that 6 skins, and 6 top tiers Augments. Do you need more skins and more augments?

=> Accumulate TC and focus on the Augment you want from the gold tiers. You would buy the Battle pass at the end of the challenge when you know you can actually complete it.

So, I finished the entire Challenge and bought the Battle Pass last night. (If you haven seen my Tanki Pic of the Day post, I got Viking Legacy.)

Now that I've finished this challenge, I can finally give my thoughts on it.

I really like this new change where you can get Stars in missions. This is my 4th completed Challenge, and the other 3 were tedious, to the point that once I finished, I didn't want to do the next one.

On the other hand, this Challenge is pretty simple, and it's spread out over the whole two weeks so it's more about consistency than grinding. After finishing this current Challenge, I feel just fine and motivated to finish the next one.

I really hope the devs keep this format of Challenges, and do not change the amount of Stars in Missions. It's absolutely perfect and I'm sure it will make more people interested in Challenges.

This will be the first challenge I'm able to finish. I need less then 300 stars now. As I'm only doing my missions, this should be done in the next 2 days. So for me this new format is a lot better then before.

Will be very, very difficult.  But - they may change the prices sometime in the future.

Until then, keep your eye on the Challenge rewards and if you see a hull augment you like - strive to get that far in Challenge and then buy the Battle Pass.  If you don't have the TKs available at that point you will kick yourself for spending them earlier.

rewards yea its not much when you end up using them what you got from event or even more to finish when you might have buy in the end . will try it out on the next missions with one of my lower accounts to see if it can be completed without buying and with in the time frame .

broo you is already at commander's rank brooo! It won't take much time to get to legend... (you must be facing them in pro battles, why not in MM too?)

Well I don’t rank very fast when playing PRO battles since no increased xp gain there. And yeah I do face legends almost always in battles but I don’t mind as almost all  the battles have supplies offed- meaning no drones too : D
