Hi Tankers,

Maybe everyone think the debate between WASD and arrow has ended for a long time, that everyone in the childhood was playing with Arrows, but after growing up he realize that WASD is way more suitable almost for every game.

Today guys I want discuss with you.. what is your playing style..

Do you play with WASD or Arrow or maybe even the Mouse controls

I started playing with Arrows and I was even playing Minecraft in that time also with arrows, then I hardly switched my playing style to WASD, but still with arrows in Tanki

Many times I tried to change my playing to WASD but I can't, makes me to think it's near impossible for me..

I was even facing problems on keyboard in my old laptop, so I compelled to playing with WASD

1 week crossed, still I can't get accustomed..

2 weeks 3 weeks ,, even 1 month and I can't get even near my playing comfort with the Arrows

Lastly after 2 months I get accustomed with the WASD but still my playing with arrows is way more better than WASD.. and I couldn't play with Freeze in WASD

btw, I bought a new Laptop. Immediately returned to Arrows "forever.. (though I have some problems with arrows until now),

Too long too late..

I want everyone to explain their playing style in details,

I will start

Arrows (up down left right) + zxc + Q and E + Left Shift for overdrive + 123456

second -- WASD + Q and E  + 123456 + Right Shift +  ,./

I think the most suitable playing style in Tanki is with Arrows (opposite the most games) ... also it's easy to use supplies (especially to use infinity mines in parkour)

Waiting for your replies...

P.S: I edited topic title multiple time hope you to not get confused

When I play on PC, I use WASD, ZXC, Q and E, Tab, Shift and 123456 with my left hand. My right hand is for Spacebar and Enter to chat.

My left hand does the majority of the work.

no, I mean of your left hand is busy driving the hull, how do you turn the turret to aim at the enemy? I don't suppose you have 3 hands!!! ?

Index and middle finger alternate between WASD depending on what direction I'm going or what the situation calls for. Index finger also presses E for lowering the camera, R to see the stats of enemies (on Flash), and 3, 4 and 5 for DD, SB and mines.

Thumb finger controls the turret with ZXC and Shift for the Overdrive.

Ring finger is used to press Tab, 1 and 2 for Repair kit/DA, and pressing Q to raise the camera.

My pinky finger does nothing.

My default hand position at the start of a battle is middle finger on W, index finger on D, thumb on Z and ring finger on Tab.

I don't play with one hand except if I drink tea or something, and in that I just move my Tank with WASD and shot without turning the turret

@TheCongoSpider  Do you always play in the PC in this complicated manner? Wow, I will never manage to get a good score like that...except when I am using shaft sniping mode. Coz it involves  either moving or sniping at a time not both simultaneously.

Yes? That's how I've been playing for years. I wasn't able to get accustomed to other controls. I remember trying out <, > and ? for a bit when I first started playing because of the loading screen tip but I've been using WASD ZXC with my left hand for as long as I can remember. If anything my thumb finger is the first to be fatigued if I play extensively.

For Shaft, when I'm in sniping mode I use WASD to aim it. I would only use Z or X if I need to retain the turret rotation momentum (this happens only in Flash as far as I know) and if I don't need to raise the scope higher or lower.

Mouse controls master race ?

For real though, I used arrow keys and ZXC ever since I started playing, but as soon as Ares came out I switched to WASD and mouse. Now using the same with Hopper. But I switch back to arrow keys and no mouse whenever I use a non-hover hull.

Same. Most of the laptops I owned had pretty bad key ghosting on arrow keys, so I either assigned tank controls to the number pad, or used something like IJKL or OKL;

Ooh nice, I must try it..

Since my new laptop can play with Arrows well without problems but I faced a small problems gets me angry, when I press multiple keys I have no problems but the only one that I can't press "3" to use double damage ooaaah, so I raise my hand from some keys and press number 3

arrows are more comfortable for any player, u dont have to stretch ur hand to reach shift. Its just more convinient. As the voting shows.

I use WASD and mouse. Used arrow keys before, new keyboard suffered from ghosting issues, so I switched to mouse controls. I think that mouse controls in general are superior to keyboard controls, though they take a bit more time to get used to. You can quickly check behind you without rotating your turret, and it's harder for other players to knock off your aim, because the camera is not bound to the position of the turret.

OMG guys, most results until now are with Arrows.  the same discussion opened in 2013-2014 in a topic, it was detailed and way more better than my topic.. but I thought that we're in 2020 not in 2013  so no one still playing arrows until now except me?, but the vote showing the opposit

you're right that WASD and Mouse are superiors to keyboard in every game, but in Tanki that isn't... since most games like GTA , PUBG , Fortnite , Uncharted ... depend in a real personality, its better for these games to play with WASD and Mouse... but in Tanki no you don't play with a real character, you just move a hull and turret, so its better to play it with WASD or arrows but not with Mouse

#me too! !

It was hard wasn't it? ?

Sorta, kinda yeah. I didn't have the fluidity of rotating both my turret and hull at the same time, and it was tough manually aiming. Somehow I managed to do somewhat ok, but yeah. I am so glad I'm able to use two hands now xD

Also, I don't like using arrow keys + zxc. Reason #1: The up and down arrow keys are virtually non-existent. They are SO tiny that it's a joke. Second, playing wasd feels much more natural, and < with > seems to work fairly well too.

Left hand: Shift, Z, X, C, V (when playing in Flash), spacebar, Tab

Right hand: arrows, Page Up, Page Down (on my laptop, the Page Up and Page Down keys are on either side of the up arrow key. pretty lucky.)
