Both turrets and hulls but especially turrets seem unbalanced to me,  these "augments" which are much more common at high ranks certainly add to the problem, drones and overdrives also. I came back after 5 years of quitting and even though 5 years ago this game started to become Pay to Win the turrets and hulls were not perfect, some were weak (smoky) some were too strong (ricochet) but were reasonably balanced. I mainly left because buyers were given unfair advantages over F2P players, not really because of gameplay imbalance. I played the game for a month and quit again because of all the reasons above. I want to know your opinion, do you think the turrets and hulls of today are unbalanced like I do? Please vote in the poll. I could only do a maximum of 3 polls, I am not allowed to do more.

I voted;

most over powered turret - Firebird ( would like to know the name of the joker who mentioned Freeze: / )

most underpowered turret - Twins(without alterations)

Most owerpowered hull - well regarding overdrives I’d say Hornet but Hunter isn’t far behind either.

I could not decide the most over-powered turret since all kill me equally well, but I went with Gauss because of its stealth aiming system. You can be targeted from accross the map and not know it. At least there is a hint (beam, tracers) with the other long-range turrets.

shaft is literally broken... a long range turret meant for sniping can do just as good as hammer in short range with rapid fire augment... took enemy 3 hits and and my mk6 hunter was a goner

The most OP turret: Gauss why? Auto hits (impossible to miss you) - High splash-damage radius - No laser - Hybrid turret - High damage - Move while in sniping - Silent

 

The most UP turret: Freeze maybe its more underpowered by the players but I rarely to see

 

The most OP hull: regrettably my best hull Hornet, because it's OD, though I can argue with that - also Titan is way to OP

 

Edit: some turrets and hulls deserve to be in the list

Titan OD is OP same to the hornet so both in first position

then Hunter and Ares

how the frick is titan OP? its overdrive has 6 counters.... what about hornet? 0

I talked about hornet that its OP, but Titan is OP also with its high 90% so the hornet must kick that exaggerated protection, most times when I see Titan's dome I automatically ignore it and go to another enemy except if I have hornet OD to teach him a lesson

Honestly, I had a lot of trouble selecting OP and UP turrets. Had to think about it for a while.

Not taking augments into account, I'd say that the current balance situation is actually really good. There are definitely some augments that stand out though, like the EMP gauss, which is likely why people are voting it as the most OP turret.

A lot of augments are overpowered in certain game modes and situations. Shock freeze (obviously), incendiary band, incendiary mix (quite underrated, imho), triple shot, adaptive reload, some railgun alts, maybe Smoky and Hammer too.

OP turret: Gauss. It shouldn't one-shot a medium hull with how stealthy it is.

UP turret: Freeze. Nobody uses it ever since the freezing ability was absolutely gutted.

OP hull: Hornet. This discussion has been done to death.

hard to say whats overpowered and underpowered for a few reasons. 1, (at least for me) i dont play consistently anymore so top things have changed but i still have a general idea of things in the battles i play (pro battles usually without supplies and with any combo). 2, most importantly, augments. augments make some turrets too powerful whereas otherwise they arent that powerful. railguns scout augment for example, makes the turret overpowered but stock railgun isnt as good. stock hammer is alright but quite situational, but with dragons breath its powerful pretty much all the time because you make up for the bad range with the extra damage (no i dont use dragons breath myself). the same can be said for other turrets too but i wont talk about them all.

as for hulls, as i said i mainly play no supply pro battles without a format, and i hear hornet is overpowered in the modes with supplies but for the battles i play its about right. still very annoying if you are playing with drop boxes on and the reveal is also super annoying but not too bad. hunter is too powerful, dictator is a bit too strong for these kind of battles (especially because it gives the people around 50% od making their overdrives pop up even more often), and i think thats about it for hulls.

just my thoughts as a player who doesnt often play battleswith supplies but only drop boxes

yeah i agree its pretty op. mainly with the compact tanks augment in my experience.

Gauss, Magnum, Shaft and LCR Railgun are the only turrets capable of comfortably one-shotting unprotected medium hulls with DD, of the same modification and 1 below.

I chose Gauss as OP because of its horribly good splash damage distribution in the sniping mode picking up multi-kills too easily, not even taking into account the cancer that is EMP Gauss. And it's a common turret too.

 

I chose Isida as UP. I would have chosen Railgun or Twins if not for the fact that their augments make up for their status. Isida doesn't have any solid Augments like other turrets have. One is basically not needed if you have superb Ping, another is a niche playstyle that puts you at the mercy of your teammates, and the last one is downright awful due to Stock Isida's balance and you need superb Ping with that one.

Well Hornet is not a counter to Hornet...or more accurately, Hornet's Overdrive is not a counter to Hornet's Overdrive.
