Ideas for Hulls and Overdrives!

True. The opposite way has the same effect :)

It will reduce the dominant role of overdrives. This is actually the main point. To make it a feature that will add fun to a battle. And I have to admit the opposite way of tweaking by speeding up the charging time but reducing the effects is probably more versatile and enjoyable!

ODs have too much effect in battles at the moment so Reduce effects and keep charge-time as is.

Between drop-boxes and Dictators players have opportunity to get OD plenty of times per battle.

 

And while waiting for OD there's always supplies and drones.  There's enough "power-ups" in the game to keep most players happy.

Or just remove them...?

Or revert them to their former ODs. Everything was so much better then, no arguments about "different ODs", every turret had an equal power up that the devs call an "OD" (all supplies except for GB and Battery, and to share the effect with nearby allies) etc.

Hello Tanki ! I have complain regarding your new update for mammoth hull.You should have changed it for pumpkin gold drop event only, Why implement it forever.You wrote that OD lasts during wasp nuke, What the hell mammoth is destroyed.I want you to re-consider your chnage for mammoth overdrive beacuse other hulls kill it like a piece of cake.If you change its overdrive, Then change other hulls too or revert your changes for the mammoth.See my profile I use mammoth only.Overdrive immortality over mammoth is useless As it is already a slow hull.Why !

i agree with king rider here.. i think you should at least keep the invincibility feature of mammy OD for the time it takes to repair. for example let mammy OD give full health points to the tank in 0.25 seconds and for that small amount of time give mammoth invincibility.. this way.. at least  the repair effect would not stop mid-way like it does right now.. atleast this would guarantee a mammy user full health if not a kill... pls think about this.

Mammoth instantly repairs itself to 100% HP immediately as you activate the Overdrive. The repairing doesn't "stop midway". You were damaged right after you activated your Overdrive. Nothing is wrong there.

Hunter overdrive shouldn't drop flags

 

I highly suggest that the Hunter overdrive is altered so that it cannot drop flags. Hunter has an advantage over all other players, in my opinion. Hunter should have the ability to remove drugs from opponents rather than three things such as dropping flag, stopping tank, as well as removing drugs. All other overdrives have one ability where Hunter has 3 abilities.

There are plenty of Hulls that have more than on ability in their OD.

 

 · Hornet: - radar

                - able to completely ignore any amount of protection. (Which I think is broken)

 

 · Viking: - increases damage.

               - increases firing rate.

 

 · Dictator: - activates all supplies.

                  - replenish non dictator teammates OD by 50%.

                  - slows down nearby enemies.

 

 · Titan: - reduces damage dealt by enemies by a staggering 80%.

             - rejuvenate HP at the pace of isida.

 

 · Mammoth: - can damage enemies just by touching them.

                      - increases speed by 50%.

                      - instantly fully heals HP.

 

· Juggernaut: - instantly fully heals HP.

                       - knocks back nearby enemies.

I still do not think it is fair for the ability to drop a flag. Teammates should need to work together instead of one tank being able to get the flag from an entire team. I am happy they nerfed Hunter OD but it is still an ability that should be removed. I've heard many complaints about it.

Hornet and Viking can kill and make enemies drop flags all in one go. Hunter just makes enemies drop flags, and if they don't die within 3 seconds, they can reclaim the flag.

I have another concern. When I first join a battle a flag can already be captured since teammates are still loading. There should be a delay in which flags can be captured. Like it should not be possible for enemies to pick up the flag within the first 30 seconds. I think that would be a great addition to the game.

I think the flag dropping ability should be disabled in ASL mode. At least in CTF/RGB if you get disabled there's still a chance that the hunter will die fast and you or your teammates will be able to pick up the ball/flag and continue the attack. In ASL, due to flags returning instantly, a Hunter disabling you means that the whole attack is a lost cause even if you do survive.

A better way to to fix ASL is to rework EVERYTHING in that mode. Right now it provides the worst gameplay experience ever in the history of TO.

Maf are you able to reach out and see if we can get the ability disabled for ASL. I still think dropping flag is really pointless and ruins the game. Like if im using ricochet in a battle and I have overdrive I may not be able to kill enemy team especially if they are being heal with isidia with a nanobot alteration. Also, other teammates have the ability to kill me unlike the Hunter OD where it completely freezes the teammates, removes drugs, and takes flag. It is way easier to return flag with Hunter compared to all other overdrives.

Do you mean "...droppng ability for ASL" in general?  For any reason?

I ask this because Hunter is not the only problem.  A camping hornet with OD and DD can kill most tanks trying to cap. Flag returned instantly.  Same with Viking.  And these tanks don't even need to be near the flag carrier - unlike Hunter.

I really doubt that only Hunter's ability would get disabled only in ASL mode. There needs to be a better solution.

I agree - it's extremely annoying to go through the whole map with the flag only to get disabled. And what's worse, sometimes you survive after being disabled, but can't even pick the flag back up to continue the attack, unlike in CTF or RGB.

I asked Hazel about it a while ago and he said this is intentionally done to prevent "trains" of multiple tanks following one another and picking up the flag after as they get destroyed. But I feel like this logic is outdated now, since with all the overdrives and splash damage turrets, convoys of enemy tanks are hardly a problem anymore.

The whole ASL concept and experience is outdated.

 

Titans, mammoths, and hunters would benefit heavily on the blue team, while Vikings, hornets, and wasps would dominate in the red team. Dictators wouldn't care because they'll do well on either team.

@DieselPlatinum haha very funny. I guess maybe Hunter OD is fair since Wasp can kill flag carrier unless they run away from the bomb. Mammoth has to travel across the map if flag is on other side, and viking can get an easy kill usually. Hunter OD is just an overdrive that annoys me the most since the flag is actually dropped.
