Change the mechanism of ideas regarding to announcment topics & categories.

I think, the mechanism of merging ideas to categories and announcmet topics should be changed. The reason is that when merging something into those topics, not so many players will view it because there are tons of replies, and no one will read all of them.

Changing the mechanism of merging into announcment topics:

I have two ideas for that. The first one is when merging an idea to an annoucment, it should be directly below the annoucment, so everyone, who reads the announcment, will see what ideas/suggestions  players have related to it.  The other option is to create a reply after the announcment, where you can see the links of suggestions in the announcment topics. Also, i think the border of merged suggestions should tell it's status: if it has (lime) green border, it's under review, if it has red, it's declined, if it's blue, it's planned.

Changing the mechanism of categories

When a suggestion is merged into a category, a link should be displayed to it in the topic, so for exanple, if you want to check if your idea is suggested before, you just quickly open that category, view all titles, and if you can't find it there, suggest it. The color change of the border would be true here too, so players can know what is the current status of the idea (but in categories, there can be yellow (valid) borders too).

Under Review

So you are saying that let us assume that I post an idea for a new turret. The category topic for turrets has been made in 2012 (example) and my topic/post is made in 2020, But still when a moderator merges it with the category topic, my idea makes its way right under the original topic irrespective of the chronological order in which the posts were organised originally?

First thing to note about news topics is that every single post in there gets reviewed, and relevant feedback gets forwarded to developers. That is unlike I&S, where the feedback is still valuable, but has a much lower priority.

In I&S we intentionally allow users to discuss all new ideas for a while even if they belong to a category topic, so in case of ideas with the "Merge" tag, you get some time to get feedback from other users, after which point your topic gets merged and effectively archived in the larger topic. However, unlike the actual archive, people can continue to talk about your idea.

There is no way (and no need, really) to move topics to the top of the thread. We did try maintaining a list of all ideas in the first post of the topic, but it gets very tedious and confusing, and we find that most people tend to skip it and go to the last page anyway.

Yes, i think. There can be spoiler for previous ages. Of course, i don't want you to post links back to 2012 in a category, not even back to 2019, only start to do it, and it will be easy to review the ideas in a categories after some time.

Yeah, ideas can get some views when having the merge tag, but displaying links to them in categories can help people for varios reasons, and even help your work too, because the number of multiply ideas of a same topic will probably be lower, so you don't have to spend time on searching for ages, just quickly view the category related to it, and see if the idea was already suggested before. Also, new members of the forum can view (smaller) ideas related to their interests easily. Hate already started doing this in the "ideas for theobile version" category, that's this idea came from. I found finding an idea related to it much more easier, and i think, ot doesn't take a lot of time to display a link in a category when merging it into the category.

Well, this addition help players. (If you don't want to display links to it imtheouncment). Personally, i don't have time to read all replies in an announcment, but i am always interested in ideas realted to that update. This is probably true for a lot of users, so it would help us (and the person who suggested the idea) to read and comment on them.

I recommend watching this topic, because actually, that is my idea. Of course, as i said before, there van be spoilers.

As mentioned by Maf; every post which is being merged into an announcement topic is getting reviewed. In fact, feedback from the N&A section is considered the most by the developers.

My suggestion is to move all of the topics about nerfing/buffing some turrets/augments to the "Game Discussion". It's disgusting how those topic overwhelmed this section, while some ideas just get merged.   The ideas about nerfing/buffing still in the section just because they're Valid.

I can now create a new topic about nerfing Thunder (though it's balanced) and I will give my meaningless reasons and the topic will stay in the section as it's Valid

This is what we are doing, sort of - we merge all ideas which are related to balance into Let's Discuss Game Balance which is in Game Discussion.
