Ideas for Augments!

So I had an idea for the new range of EMP/Stun augments. My guess is, Tanki will add Emp and Stun augments for every turret at least, with maybe incendiary and cryo. So, I propose the addition of critical hits (discussed in Vlog 292) such that the effects are applied only on critical hits, and only to the first target hit. So, if I shoot 5 tanks with EMP railgun, only the 1st tank is affected by the EMP. Similarly for EMP salvo, it keeps all the buffs it gets, but you also don't EMP more than a single tank. 

Furthermore, each of the new EMP/Stun augments should be based off the most powerful preexisting augments for the turret. In the case of Railgun, this would be Large Caliber rounds I claim. In the case of Thunder, Sledgehammer. Doing so wouldn't break the game, because even though it can EMP/stun, the augments do so rarely, and only to a single target. However, it makes no sense to add the EMP effect and then nerf the turret into oblivion for using it (for example what happened with AP Railgun).

To be honest yes Railgun AP is a weak, stock Railgun in real is a weak but with -33% is a way more weaker. But the AP for 7s is such a farce and a really disgusting thing, especially while the stock railgun is a really fast. So I think it's not a good for a personal usage, but it's way too strong for a teamplay especially against a bunch of players in Titan's Dome.  To be honest I think it's the same case with Titan's Dome, it's really strong for teamplay, but not that powerful for a self-benefit.

To be honest I don't think this thing is a really scary, because the buyers who will purchase the new EMP & Stun Augments are the same players who have purchased the EMP Gauss or the new Stun Augments. Not that difference

But the thing is, some turrets will be way too strong with EMP & Stun, like Freeze for example.

Augment name: Icy Barrels

Vulcan’s cooling fans are boosted further to the point of freezing the user’s rank when used too much
Standard shells are affected by the turret’s freezing temperature. 

Instead of Overheating after continuous fire, the Turret begins to enter a sub-zero temperature which starts to freeze the user, but also Freezes the bullets.

Each freeze shell freezes enemy tanks by a minuscule amount but with a barrage firing, enemies being targeted by a stand still Vulcan will soon become a snowtank.

Well I'd say, if it can be made so that the augments mostly mimic their non EMP/stun counterparts (so say Railgun's EMP augment winds up being made such that you rarely EMP enemies with critical hits, and even then only a single enemy) I would say they'd actually be balanced. Like for example, Smoky EMP. I don't think anybody would claim that Smoky EMP is broken, or too powerful or too annoying. It's powerful, but not broken.

This is cool, but I wanted to tell you what could happen, opposite to what we have now, with the Heating Augment.

  • If this Cooling Augment is made for Vulcan, then tankers can simply equip on Cold Immunity, if they have it.
  • With this, they can freeze enemies non-stop, while they are moving freely.
    • This can make tankers mad about adding in another kind of Augment which makes Vulcan too powerful.

 

But I would still like to have a kind of Augment like this in the game. More variety! ?

It could be nice to have them balanced more.

The Augment freezes yourself. Pretty hilarious.

Each bullet have a very small freezing output but with enough, you will eventually turn into snowtank ❄️ ☃️

This effect won't be as powerful as Shock Freeze or even normal Freeze; and will take lots of bullets to freeze someone over.

 

As for yourself. I don't really know... Maybe getting frozen as the same rate as a Freeze attacking you? 

Or maybe as much as every bullet hitting you like listed above.

Augment name: Heat Seeking Missiles.

 

Standard Missiles are replaced with a new variant of Heat Seeking Missiles. This type of Missile is slower than standard rockets but comes built in with a unique infrared tracker. When firing missiles, if it detects an enemy tank with high temperature, rockets begin to attract towards them.

Lock on mechanics: (Unchanged)

Standard missiles now have a homing ability to <Burning> tanks. (+)

Maximum Projectile Speed: 400m/s (-)

Requires a <Burning> tank for Augment to activate. (-)

Augment name: Tough Shells

Normal shells are replaced with a special, tougher magazine. Loses bouncing ability and slower reload.

Damage: +20% (+)

Bouncing/ricochet effect disabled. (-)

Reload: -20% (-)

Freezes yourself. Requires lots of bullets for a freeze. I do not think standing still is a good idea.

OH GOD A vulcan that can freeze. Jeez it would be way more annoying to deal with since you won't be able to have mobility plus the person would get annoyed at the fact that the acceleration would have to start over. At this point I rather be burned and able to move than freeze not being able to move.  I can see this abuse especially in capture modes.
