Tankers!

 

In less than a month, Flash will shut down for good and every tanker will have to play via the HTML5 version of the game. You have to understand this is not a decision made by the developers but a decision made by Adobe themselves. Now, we understand that many of you are not happy with the current state of the HTML5 version. We would like to hear your ideas / suggestions and pass them to the developers. 

 

❗Even if you suggested something in the old topic, be sure to suggest it again so the idea will be added to the list.❗

 

Here are a few tips on how to give feedback that we can really apply:

  • Avoid text walls. It’s much better to give a list of points, so that we can go through them systematically without missing anything.

  • Don’t just say, “I hate this feature”. Instead, say why you hate it, and what you want to achieve from it.

  • Feel free to suggest ideas of how things can be fixed, but please don’t expect every suggestion to be implemented to the letter. Many of the suggestions we receive on forum make sense on paper, but are impractical in terms of implementation.

  • If someone has already mentioned a point you’d like to make, you can simply vote for their idea by liking their post. Of course, feel free to elaborate on their points, but that’s entirely up to you.

I think there should be a Game Brightness adjustment setting that doesn't rely on the Computer's Brightness settings. It could help fine-tune vision in the game and could help some tankers who have some trouble seeing/or their PC's are already on maximum.

What does this mean? Make some game colors more bright?

@Shy tsk. People always talk mad crap about html 5 and i ain’t gonna lie, i was one of em. Point is your right and after playing it for a while i have come to a conclusion that html 5 is the way to go. (That won’t change the fact that shaft is messed up in html 5 but im not complaining because i dont even use it.)

Regarding Shaft, this is what Marcus had to say when he was asked about it:

Q: Can Shaft's (non-mouse) scoping mode be made identical to in Flash? HTML5's sniping mode is jerky on the vertical axis and feels tight.

A: The Shaft controls while scoping with the mouse or with the keyboard are not really different, they are just not optimal. They have problems; they don't behave like they should. Regarding the keyboard - I do not think that we will seriously fix anything there. Believe me, it's easier with the mouse. As for the mouse however, it definitely needs to be fixed and we have plans to do so.

Make it so that when you go to the garage midway in a battle, it does not require you to constantly click on a different piece of equipment just to change it.

This is highly frustrating when you are wanting a super quick pit stop and end up taking up to 20/30 secs depending on what you want to change.

Never had this problem with flash.

Also the FLYING CHEAT is hard to equip....now it's relevant.

I'm a Flash vet like many who switched to HTML5, honestly HTML5 only sucks for those who use weaker PC's/laptops. The overall client is much more complicated and the lobby itself has so much in it that causes a lot of loading downtimes. I think HTML5 is superior than Flash now, but you just need better equipment to play sadly. 

Kinda like how some mobile apps are not available to old OS processors. It is time to move on.

1/ Battle lobby or a warm-up time (or a game to kill the wait) so all players could start the battle at the same time

Why? in order to avoid:
- premature capping of flag and CP points,
- have the Juggernaut given to the fastest loader,
- all enjoy the 7 minutes of battle.

The lobby could look like this:

It is a simple mock up, and it could display more information about other players like displaying class hull (light, medium, heavy) and turret range (melee, close...).

A "warmup-time" would put you in a map instantly after queuing is done, and a timer countdown starting from 1:00, you would be able to drive across the map, however, the objectives and your supplies would be disabled. After the 80% of the players joined the map, or the one minute is over, all tanks respawn, and the battle starts.

A tic tac toe game like on the mobile to kill the wait. I would prefer tetris :)

2/ Better garage overview by displaying all the stats of current tank
Display alterations for hull (Augments and Skin) and turret (Augment, shot effect and skin), and the stats boost by the drones (Passive damage and armor and speed)

My List:

Fix Shaft sniper mode aim.  It no longer accepts fine control inputs, often jerking the sight when attempting to correct tiny margins of aim.

Fix damage indicator on Shaft so when player zooms out from long distance, it doesn't disappear with the closing of the scope.

Fix turret "jerk" in general.  The smooth turret rotation found in flash is severely lacking in HTML.

I mean?  Really... Really?

This is the answers we get?  There are those of us who aren't numb skulls and actually do better, WAY BETTER, with keyboard than mousers.  Why the hell do I have to learn how to use the MOUSE.  Tanki was supposed to be "low control", low hardware requirements, simple to play.  Shafters need to complain, big time, and yes, they need to fix mouse too, not because it matters to me, but again, it's a feature that has been sold to end users, they need to support it, period, JUST LIKE keyboard.  I cannot believe how disdainful and paltry a statement as that being directed to the user base.  It's ridiculous and unacceptable.

- Implementing the Garage Stats Table that Flash has, so you can see what rank you need and how much something improves etc. -> feels better imo ?

It's very important, that made me just went to Flash to calculate item prices in sales.. But believe me this wont implement to HTML5 ever, basically they changed the Interface to a new comprehensive look with a new concept of design that appropriate for modern games..

We have made a whole list off all the things we think are missing or need to be added to html.

There are things in it like add an option to turn of the red hitbox line and radar, and view stars missions and crystals while in battle.

would be awesome if the developers would listen to those advises and i hope this petition will get forwarded to them!

We are players of Tanki Online that have been enjoying the game for many years or just a few months. But we all have one thing in common, we like to play Tanki Online.  

Introduction
That is why we are happy that Tanki Online is able to continue on the HTML5 version with the end of Adobe Flash. 
The HTML5 version brings many advantages that we did not have in the Flash version. 
However, we have found that the HTML5 version is not perfect yet. We wish for Tanki Online to bring some updates and changes to game to improve the experience of the player. 

 

 List of suggestions
- add an option to turn off the red line that show the hitbox and to turn off the radar.
- Edges of shadows look much more pixelated than in Flash. In Flash the transition noise is not noticeable in gameplay conditions. 
- The hp and ammo bar, and names of other players in game and chat look much more faded in the html version. Make the hp and ammo bar the same color and tint as in flash (more saturation, purer color).
- Make the aim lock popup better, higher resolution. The colors of the aim lock popup in flash, red and green are perfect.
- Make the pro battle list and the pro battle preview in one screen. There will even be room for the chat/news on the left side.
- In garage, show information about different mk versions and the price like in flash.
- Fix that the battle queue popup covers tankoins, crystals, full screen toggle and log out button. 
- Add back the mark that for example thunder and wasp leave behind after shooting on a wall or after placing a wasp bomb. 
- When entering a battle do not hide information like xp bar and crystals. 
- Show crystals, tankoins, stars in the top right corner when in battle. 
- Add back the shortcuts on home screen and when in battle off garage, clan, missions, friends, settings, sounds and exit.
- In flash buttons look like they are made from metal, Try bringing that same effect to html, for example on the exit button.
- For some people it is hard to notice which supplies are active, make (an option) that makes the supplies in the bar at the bottom of the screen light up in the color of the supply.
- Make it so that screens like missions, settings and friends are popups like in flash. 
- Make it so that you can open containers in battle, right after you catched them.
- Add back gifts.
- Add back rename pass in shop 
- make the experience of opening containers better, like in flash. It should be a popup, and maybe the best background color is the dark green flash color.
- Add a space between crystals if you have more then 1 000 crystals. 
- Around the tank in the garage, just everything is grey. Make it so that the entire screen is a tank in a garage, like in home screen. Other things can stay the same, with a border around it.
- Make chat always visible in the left side of the screen. 
-  Make the experience bar bigger, longer and wider. In flash it used to light up in a satisfying way, which was a great part of earning experience points. 
- when launching the game the screen is just grey. on flash there was an armor texture, which looked nice. 
- maybe it is possible to make a theme that changes grey elements, for example settings, of the game to green, like flash. This needs to be done only one time and does not have to be updated with every update. 
- When launching the new skins update, make a difference between mk1, mk3 and mk7 at least. This way people who will start playing the game have a nice goal, which is unlocking the nice mk7 skin. People who already had m3 before the mk update remember that their biggest dream was unlocking and being able to drive the skin they could see on youtube video`s or from fellow tankers. 
- in the html version the flag is barely visible when equipped. make an option to make the flags more visible. 
- Mapbugs, especcially with for example wasp crisis, the tank can suddenly flip.
- Add back the option to show your own drone and that of other players. 
- Improve parkour in html. Sometimes the tanks gets drawn to the ground like there is a magnet on the floor. (In space mode)
- Add back the option to fly in space mode with for example wasp ricochet.
- When a hopper or any other tank jumps on a house in matchmaking the flag or ball get returned if dropped there.
- Make the hp bar and names in solo juggernaut en dm mode (events) green. This makes it easier to notice if it is a team or a solo battle. 
- Add more maps, this makes the gameplay less monotonous. New maps challenge players to think about new tactics. This makes players want to keep playing the game. Those maps could also have new elements. Makes those maps available for all ranks.

Unity
The flash version of the game is more pleasing to the eye. It is almost like the sharpness in the html version is too high. there is also no fog.
Please make the gameplay experience more pleasing to the eye. This is very important for the cinematic video`s or parkour montages about the game. If people can not record nice footage anymore they might lose the motivitation to make nice edits. That would not be nice because those video`s are free advertising for Tanki. Tanki might aswell consider building the game on Unity, just like TankiX.

We players need not believe anything. We see how the game works or doesn't work. There are those who prefer playing by keyboard, so respect that, since you have given the option. Fix your own game! It was your decision to move to HTML - the game was supposed to work better. It doesn't. The sniping mode jitters are so bad that I have stopped playing shaft altogether. Take a look how little shafts there are left in the HTML game.

Fix it!! And yes, I am using caps, because your responses are outrageous, disrespectful and downright dismissive.  I see Hazel's influence in this. He has this kind of attitude.

What I think should be improved is the PRO battle list. It looks like a pig sty to me, all grey and no color : ( That the reason why I don’t play HTML (yet).

Maybe add a bit more color or similar to that of the flash one?

The pro battle list is not optimal. Please make it so that you can see the details like map picture and the teams on the same page as the battle list, when clicking on a battle, just like flash. Now you need to go back to the list everytime you selected a map.
