Efficiency

Before we started getting boosted experience from battles like we do now, we used to gain efficiency as long as we earned crystals faster than we earned experience. 

With the boosted experience in MM Battles, we earn exp so fast compared to the small Battle Funds, that every time we "grind" and finish battles without a Premium Account, our Efficiency will constantly go down, regardless of whether we do very well in Battles.

I got Premium Account recently, and tested it out during Black Friday. It would indeed seem true that efficiency is calculated by experience/crystals earned. 

I was receiving a ton of crystals from battles and my efficiency was going up. When I am writing this, the doubled funds are gone, and my efficiency is just going down again.

 

I am just suggesting that Efficiency Score should be reworked in a way that it would actually match the current Experience earned/Crystals earned ratio. It hasn't been updated and is unfair to MM players.

In PRO-Battles however, I think you can farm efficiency because you don't earn as much experience there compared to MM Battles. I haven't tested it exactly, but that is the reason I am writing this post.

It may get reworked when/if ratings and profiles get a big refurbishment, but in the end it's only a number and it means nothing. Even before the boosted EXP change, there were weird strategies that people could exploit to boost their efficiency. It was never accurate.

The weird strategies were known as power-leveling. Getting a ton of crystals in PRO-Battles, and not earning as much exp.

I don't think it was straight-up rules abuse. Just certain types of gameplay (like having a high K/D or something) were generally more effective for boosting efficiency.
