Buff - Assault

 

It's no longer practical to use at lower upgrades. Sometimes does not get value at higher upgrades because for the most part, you have to stay alive for long to get good value out of it. Due to the new way it works, it is easy for it to activate at inconvenient times. 

 

 

Nerf - Defender 

 

Effectively triple HP, on top of whatever protection modules you have. The ability to continuously cycle through to that triple HP. The ability to activated DD and DA simultaneously upon spawning. It's too much. I have no problem with the drone at lower upgrades. I have little if any problems with it at maximum upgrades, but that is only if they do not have protection against my turret. If they do, they're virtually unkillable for me without Overdrives. 

 

 

Other candidates for buffs: Miner 

 

Other candidates for nerfs: Saboteur

@wolverine848 Im not sure if putting check boxes would do.. I wanna get accurate results But I guess I can do check boxes.. There I switched them to check boxes. :D

@E_polypterus Well they wont remove them because they need more money to support the game. I do Like the drones I just believe that some of them needs to be balanced out more to make it fun for non-buyers and buyers.

That one person voted that Mechanic, Assault, Engineer, and supplier to be nerfed.. Can you explain to me why these basic drones needs to be nerfed because these drones seem pretty decent enough to be balanced. Can someone give a thorough explanation why these basic drones need to be nerfed??? Because Im curious how these basic drones are considered Over Powered..Plus Im seeing this on the data chart... XD

I actually typed up a Google Document with my idea of a massive drone rework.

*I'm not a good writer so I'm sorry if some things confuse you all. Also, some things I put are references to past versions of the game (Like M0, M1, M2, M3) because it was easier for me to comprehend.

 

Summary: Buff Brutus very, very, very slightly and nerf/rework all other drones to be balanced with Brutus.

Basically, make it so that everyone can own a Drone of their own easily, like how we can own every turret/hull by buying the MK1 version.

And make it so Drones like Crisis won't make you Godmode against players without drones (or those with lower leveled, weaker drones)
Additionally, everyone should be able to get every drone easily (including Crisis), because gameplay mechanics should not be Buyer-exclusive. Only cosmetic items and extra resources should be.

@Tanker-Arthur You spent a lot of time on this :D Hmm I like how you described them especially the trickster drone a (-What if-) revamped version of it and other drones as well..

Yeah, i started it a week and a half ago. Starting in october, in our free time, me and my friend started listing down things that Tanki should change/add to make it..."better" lol.

I wanted the drones to not be overly dependant on supplies, cause I know there are players (like one of my mini accounts) that don't have too many supplies to use.

Also some of the reworks were done based on the drone's name lol. Like I thought Crisis should help you if you are in a....crisis. XD

As a crisis owner, i really lack to understand how it is "overpowered." here's some stats and numbers at 20/20.

Passive armor and damage boost 5%-same as every other drone.

Bonus armor  100%- same as Defender.

Bonus damage 50%-  Half of the booster damage boost.

Bonus speed boost 70%-  no compareable drone.

Supply chance speed 0.5 seconds.

expense of each swich- 3 supply.

battery cost- 1 battery/min

Considering, that all these stats equals other strong drones but still enables you to use only 1 supply at a time, leading it to be the only be strong in one way at a time, it really cannot be considered to be op.

It's the ability to switch back-and-forth that makes it OP.

Need defense?  It's there in an instant.

Need Speed to cover those last few yards?  You have SB and it's way better than normal SB.

Players mostly use Crisis to cap and score points.  These are the players that are usually capping within the first 30 seconds of a match since the SB is +70%.  Nothing can match that.

@MysticBlood misspelled Crisis in Poll.

I would want to see Defender nerfed.

  • It is way overused, which is a sign of being too strong.
  • It gives way too much Defense. It makes players complain too much about Hopper and Hornets.

I would want to see the Upgrades of Crisis nerfed.

  • I actually think the stock Crisis Drone is balance with the limit of single supply usage, but with each upgrade, it gives the Drone way too many buffs.

 

What I want to see in a nerf? 

  • A LEGIT STAT NERF. NOT a supply nerf. For example like Defender. Nerfing its duration. NOT increase Double Armor consumption from 3 -> 10. WHO CARES? Pay-to-Play Players will not be affected by this. Only players who work for the supplies.

To further clarify, I have little if any problems with it at maximum upgrades if there is only one on the enemy team. If there are two or more, they are intolerable. And when there are FIVE on the enemy team, that's enough to convince me to leave. I have no AP turret augment to counter it. My preferred hull's Overdrive cannot do anything against it. My turret is dealing 15-31% of its damage towards these players. 

 

It's not uncommon for me to see 2 Defender users on the enemy team in any given battle. It's worse on the weekends when there are special missions and Ultra Containers.

Recently finished a CTF battle where enemy team had 4 Defender drones.  I think we lost 5-1.

My main gripe with it is the cooldown bonus.  It's like they can have it on 24/7.

@wolverine848 yeah the ability to keep on defense for more than 30 per kill is annoying to go against. especially against people who do speed kills from start will get time added for defense. personally in my opinion they need to cut the time shorter for active time and change its defense stats. to balance it out more. have you notice some players with spectrum modual with max defender? those combinations are hard to kill some what. most of the time youll see defenders on vikings or on fast hulls and especially pure annoyance on heavy hulls.

Have not noticed Spectrum module.  But then again I don't really pay too much attention to that.  The battles are so short and the game so fast I rarely visit the garage to switch up - unless there's like 7 enemies with protection against me.

I could say so much on this topic but i decline the temptation.

But i will say this in deference to both defender and crisis. They are not liked mainly because of the way hopper exploits them to it's huge advantage over every other hull.

Therein lies the problem, not so much the drones, but the hull that dominates battles because of its crazy overdrive that enables it to bypass mines, return flags with ease, and cap flags with equal ease. Even without either of the drones equipped it is still the biggest problem in the game because of its overdrive and the wayward way in which it moves, making it extremely hard to target.

For drones that need to be nerfed, I voted Defender, Booster, Lifeguard, and Saboteur.

- Defender has been talked about a lot so I won't get into it.
- Booster makes things kill way too quickly especially since there are some unbalanced turrets.
- Lifeguard is probably the least OP of these 4, but I still find it annoying to go against, especially with Shaft. A little side-note, I'm not one to get all worked up about Gold Boxes, but Lifeguard makes taking Gold Boxes way too easy when there are rocket/meteor golds.
- Saboteur isn't talked about enough. It makes areas basically unpassable unless you have Defender or high Mine protection.
