Getting rid of chat is really silly. It's about the only way players/friends can communicate.

Aside from that, i was hoping for the day that Tanki enables copy and paste in chat so players from different countries can easierly communicate by translating with google.

Getting rid of the in-battle chat is disappointing. I wonder if it is something to do with current world events? In fact, I wonder if I should even be playing this game anymore given what is going on.

In my opinion, removing the in-battle chat was unnecessary. I am aware of the current world events and that it is a sensitive topic that should not be discussed on this platform. However, instead of removing chat completely, words or phrases that would incite such discussion should have been censored instead. As other players have already pointed out, this was the only means of communication between players and friends during battles.

Aside from this, I for one was hoping that Tanki Online would incorporate an auto-translating engine to make communicating with foreign players much more efficient. Prior to the chat removal, I was using the google translate engine and a text translation from a photo engine. Not only was it successful most of the time, but foreing players thought I was a local.

Totally agree with what you said regarding chat...Funny, i have had the same thought about getting some kind of automatic translation entered into game chat, or at least the ability to copy and paste in game chat into google translate to understand what was written...Did i read this correct? You have a method that can translate the in game chat for you? Please please tell me more how this works and how i can get it on my end? Assuming tanki ever brings back the chat ?

It is a really straight forward process. Whenever a player writes a message I take a screenshot of the message, paste the image on the following link: https://translate.yandex.com/ocr and a highly accurate translation is produced. Then just write your reply or statement on google translate, copy and paste in the in-game chat.

Hopefully you'll get the chance of utilising these steps if tanki returns the chat in the future.

Oh dang! I thought it was more like there's a site you keep open that automatically translates it...Sheesh. you gotta take a screenshot, save that to your desktop then post to that link you typed in just to see the translation? That seems like a lot of work during a battle, lol.

you can also use google lens on your smartphone - just point the camera on the text on your PC monitor and it automatically translates.

The disabled chat should be only a temporary measure, but we are not able to say right now when it would come back.

Meanwhile, you can still try it out in the lobby chat.

I find the battle chat removal both irritating and amusing. A significant portion of the Tanki community don't play a great deal of the matchmaking battles and rather spend their time in other formats which really require the ability to communicate in order to have fun.

I barely play anything other than the occasional XP/BP game these days and you can't even tell the other team you are ready to play!

One thing I've always found with Tanki (the amusing thing) is that they claim that the game is aimed towards "minors" (and therefore this apparently justifies the overly sterile chat conditions and rules) while simultaneously moving the game more and more towards revolving around lootboxes and gambling mechanics (which are obviously for adults, not children).

I mean I find it kind of bonkers, to be honest. Especially when there are so many new regulations and laws coming into place in other countries regarding these in-game gambling mechanics.

You can't have it both ways Tanki. The chat removal is a joke - I can't think of another online game that doesn't have an in-game chat.

Maybe your Battle/Chat Moderator application requirements need reviewed if you don't have enough?

Whenever I switch browser - clean data - etc.. I get annoyed by auto-selfdestruction because I forget to turn it off.  Tanki you can't get enough by annoying us with this character for noobs more than when you make it also auto checked ON. Can't you implement a small code that make the choice permeant? Or you really DON'T CARE!!

you can download the tanki application on pc, it will save you from playing on a browser.

This is because you are performing the action which leads to a complete reset of an app/browser game's data. It is not specified to browser alone, even if you download the Client version of the game, set the auto destruction as OFF, then "clean data", it will again reset the auto destruction system and anything new in the control settings that you personally changed, even your login credentials. The same will happen will mobile version because, basically you are clearing all the data, meaning your personal settings will be reset which includes the "Auto self-destruction" setting too.

One of the reasons I clear browser data is some glitches/bugs in Tanki, like before a while they was just kicking me from battles, which I think will happen also in the app, which will lead also to clearing browser data which will lead to that option to turned ON.

I don't prefer to play in the app because it's basically the same of browser version, and don't give me an obvious increase in performance, and accessing it from browser is faster for me and easier.

I don't understand what you mean. But if you try to explain the logic behind this.  I say option of hiding your profile - or your in-game email don't reset, and I see this option should also be.
