This update is an official one. It was announced in the V-Log sometime ago, so it is not an April Fools joke. This update is here to stay.

Well, if that's the case, then I wish most of the players on Tanki fair well as they will be quitting.

But I'm also not gonna criticize Marcus, cus this update and the rest of the bad updates from the past were all developers fault. They refuse to listen to what the community says, plain and simple.

But Marcus and Semyon Kirov and all of the CMs their jobs is a representor for the game... I'm not meaning to insult them personally as I'm strongly against this even on the developers, but I mean Umm.. Look at the topic does Marcus said Okay guys the developers introduced this update.. Or he talk as he the one who did it?  for sure he talk as he the one who did the updates.. So he is the representor of the game.

With more of these introduced, we are also spending more time in the battle changing our protection modules plus weapon and hull augments. Not sustainable imho. So now Gauss has been nerfed effectively and the next weapon that is OP is railgun.

Disbelief, Bewildered, Confused, Stunned. These are all the emotions that I'm associating with this latest update.

Thank you for providing this info! I am glad these augments got this rework. (I am glad I correctly analyzed the augment specs from observing them in an MM battle. :P)
I like that they are more powerful than before yet less annoying than what they were while having the ability to put status effects on their targets with every shot.

Would be great if you could get an official answer from Devs that provides actual specific percentages.

Would also be great if you could provide some feedback on my questions in  post a little further up.

Armadillo module looks like a super protection module

Assume Mamthon 4000 health + 5% from drone, that is 4200 health.

defender drone, extra 2x protection, that is 4200 * 3 = 12600 health.

-------

looks like that module treat all wasp bomb as critical damage, each bomb deal 10000 damage, 2 deal 20000 damage, but

that module 50% of critical damage, make it become 10000 damage, so 2600 health left after 2 bomb

-----

I guess mine protection module is also used,

so 100 mines x 1500 damage = 150000 damage, with 50% mine module reduction, that is 75000 damage, then I dont understand
even that special module cut 50% after that, that is still 75000* 0.5 = 37500 damage, should be able to destroy that tank.

I dont know how that calculation is done.

Nopppe guys you're wrong and the video is completely wrong

The new protection module is just protect you from the Critical hits, nothing more.

But as we see in the video Mammoth have its armor exaggerated as test server sometimes increase the HP of some hulls dramatically. That's it

Brainhoo, you have to focus double before doing any test

the true power of emp is stopping enemy from using repair kit.

while railgun 10sec emp is powerful, but you can't control when to use that emp, like at the moment when you want to disable a Defender drone user on hopper, you only got 1 shot, but you cant predict that shot is the one.

while emp gauss is now the only gun that surely emp on demand, even though it lost splash effect and splash emp

The devs are still considering the apt critical damages and chance for all turrets. All turrets (excluding railgun and smoky) have critical damages equal to normal damage with a critical chance of 10%. More balance changes for each one of the current 15 turrets are yet to come soon and they will get fixed up (hopefully).

THE CHURN.  It's all to generate churning equipment.  They introduce universal critical hits which throws all balance out the window in one foul swoop.  This ridiculous update is nothing more than to motivate players to buy whatever equipment emerges as OP.  Then Tanki can spend the next six months to a year with their buff/nerf cycle in the guise of re balancing from the critical hit update.  This critical hit update effectively puts all turrets back at the starting gate for buff/nerf...and Tanki rakes in the chips as players scramble to regain whatever edge they may have had over their competition a week ago.

Tanki has fewer and fewer players as a result of their slash and burn marketing and now they must squeeze hard to wring enough cash from the tiny player base they have left....so toxic updates like this are inevitable.  It's obviously floating their boat right now, but Tanki's current marketing strategy of Online Gambling for the kiddies is doomed...just a matter of time.  I fully expect that one day next year I will try to log into Tanki and get a 404 message.  I had hoped someone would buy out the game, but I doubt this sinking ship could attract any serious investors.

Now, I think the only hope left is that Tanki will scrap this iteration of "Legenary PVP Shooter" (soooo lame) and re-introduce a more player friendly version (read: rolled-back) version of Tanki.  Everyone starts from Recruit again and this time Tanki learns from their mistakes...they keep the game on a sustainable path.  I would guess lots of players would be outraged and pack it in if something like this actually happened, but I also think a staggering numbers of players would come back to a fun and simple version of Tanki.

Tesla critical damage.

hokuto no ken ps1 GIF

Will Tesla have critical damage once its released?

Probably, but judging based on what we see with 12 of the turrets...

Tesla's "Critical damage" will be the same numeric value as it's normal damage. Only difference is that it will Bypass the Tesla Protection Module.

(Had the critical damage update not been released, Tesla would not have critical damage)

Thanks for clarifying @asem.harbi. Was hoping to be proved wrong. Didn't know they changed the parameters in the test server. I didn't do any personal test. Just sharing what's been posted on youtube. Good to know that Armadillo module is not that powerful. It would be scary to face a player armed with one if it were that powerful.

For clarification: Mammoth had 32k health on test server a few days ago. That's why he could tank so much mines.

what about the module that esport players and helpers have does it protect from critical hits

According to wiki, Spectrum modules protect against both regular damage and critical damage.

So, Railgun(Scout) M4 will deal regular 900 damage, with no damage decrease, with a reload of 2.18 seconds plus delay time, and its critical damage will be 1120...

Why?

That is a lie, many times it is being damage of 400 - 500 to tanks that do not have any protection, I do not know what causes this, if a bug or it was intended, but railgun is not OP, they only made it playable.

Sad truth. Everyone can see this, everyone knows what is going on, but they keep on doing it. They are bunch of greedy people who don´t care for anything but profit. But they are actually that bad and dumb that they managed to lose players because of the greediness, and they still keep on doing it. It´s like watching a very bad "part 2" of a movie you used to like, and they screwed it up completely by firing old successful actors that brought fame to it and simply replaced them with new ones that no one wants or asked for, that don´t make the movie what it used to be. So it loses popularity. With one key difference. No good businessman would do this, ever, so I guess tanki devs are all 3 - greedy, dumb and very bad businessmen. That is some bad combo you got right there, I suggest you to employ some serious staff even when you try to earn money, because this isn´t working as far as I can see lol
