Why, how rude of me! I have been conversing with you, yes you, the reader, for months (MONTHS!) and have not even introduced myself! Without further ado, I'll write and you'll read. Got it? Good. I DON'T CARE IF YOU SAID NO! Anyway, let's continue.

Off the subject of rudeness, and onto the subject of Tanki (who knew one could sit, stand, lie, etc on a subject and then hop from one to another! I am so excited by this new science of ontosubjectology!)...
I have been playing Tanki since 2018, and I would be at the rank of legend or something by now were it not for my intermediate school, since the said school was a "bring your own device school" (BYOD), which meant that my device - the very same one that I played Tanki on - had to be set up with the school security system, etc. This resulted in... you guessed it... Tanki Online, and even YouTube and other gaming sites, being blocked on my device, at home and at school. So, after that tragedy (no, I did not make a performance of it and sell tickets. I know! I could have lived in comfort forever after from my profits! Maybe...), and when I finally graduated from intermediate school, I got a new device for high school, free from annoying security stuff, and finally created a new account on Tanki Online as I had forgotten the password for the old one. I named this new account 'a1653'. I started Tanki Online again on the 10th of January, 2021. At the time of writing, I am currently at one of the hardest ranks to get through in the game for a non-buyer like me: the rank of General. By the way, I have never joined a clan.

Now on to my somewhat private life...
I am addicted to all books and audiobooks about Sherlock Holmes, even if they don't include the characters but are still detective novels and are still good reads.
I also enjoy photography; I got into it in the middle of last year (2020, for those of you who can't be bothered reading the date this was written and/or doing the maths of a 5-year-old), during lockdown. My teacher set the class an assignment, called 'My passion project'. In the said assignment, you had to choose something you had never done/learnt about before - it had to be a hobby - and learn about it and try it out. After starting on one idea and then deciding that it was not the right thing for me or the assignment, I eventually got the idea of photography into my head. Somehow. Anyway, my mum had a camera - pretty pathetic, mind you - and I started taking photos on the said camera whilst engaging in socially distanced conversations - lessons, if you like - with our (my family's) neighbourhood photographer. During the time that I was using my mum's camera, I was also doing a lot of research on my Chromebook about how cameras worked. I discovered, to put it simply, that I needed a camera that had full manual control, which means that you can tinker with what the photo is going to look like - you can make: it blurry or deathly still, bright or dark, waterfalls milky coloured or clear with streaks of white, the background blurred and everything else in focus, etc - and that I also needed a camera that was a DSLR (digital-single-lens-reflex) and which supported interchangeable lenses. So, towards the very end of this assignment, my dad bought me a camera that had full manual control and supported interchangeable lenses. I have loved this camera ever since and used it quite a bit.
I hate PE (Physical Education, uneducated ones), but love English, maths, science, and STEAM (stands for science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics. You will learn it in high school and perhaps in a pathetic way in intermediate). I neither hate nor like health (the subject, not the word), but there are classes I would prefer to be in other than health. I think that's it for me, so bye bye humans.

Approved!
Nice introduction, a1653. It's nice to know a bit more about a budding new writer in our Amateur Writing Section. To be honest, such an introduction topic is suited better to the Off-Topic Discussion section, or to the "Introduce yourself" topic in the Beginner's Zone... But of course, your introduction was quite big and the AWS is a great platform to share such pieces.
By the way, I love Sherlock Holmes too!

Edits: Just capitalized the first letters of Tanki, Sherlock Holmes, English, and YouTube (the "T" too, in this case ? ), and corrected a few tiny typos and comma-issues. Proofread your work at least once (by reading it out loud, preferably) before hitting that submit button. :)

Spoiler

Once again, I'm sorry for approving this late... real life has been quite demanding in the recent times.

Thanks @Venerable! I might take the time to recommend a few authors to you that you will like. Laurie R King, author of the Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes series, Donald Thomas, author of numerous great books on the great detective, and Will Thomas, author a awesome detective series based on sherlock holmes, but omitting the sherlockian character names and some of the sherlockian traits. The latter recommendation - Will Thomas - might need a bit of explaining. The series is based in Victorian London; the main characters are Cyrus Barker - upper class (though he doesn't exactly live the lifestyle) scottish private inquiry agent (he hates the term detective and is very fit and well versed in fighting - you don't want to mess with him) who spent many years in china - Thomas Llewelyn - once a lower class job seeker thinking about suicide, later a middle class private enquiry agent's assistant who is a welshman. The plots range from a near jewish pogrom to a IRA bombing plot to a plot centred around the discovery of a fifth gospel of the bible (if you are not a christian and/or don't know of their ways, their are only four known gospels; a fifth gospel would be a very convertial thing, considering the influence of the bible). I highly recommend all of these authors. Read away!

I might add, @Venerable, that I, for some reason, can not reply in the 'introduce yourself' topic. Why might this be?

See that tiny "General" below the default profile picture on the left-hand-side of your posts? It indicates that you're in the "General" Forum Group. I believe you need to be in the "Advanced" Forum Group in order to reply in the "Introduce yourself" topic. More information here: https://en.tankiwiki.com/Forum#Forum_Groups

Are you going to look those authors up? Start typing, stop liking. Please.

I'll probably look them up, yes, but it depends a lot on my real-life obligations. Also, when I <Like> a post, it usually means that I liked the post and have understood it or I agree with it. ?

My dear @Venerable, why aren't you writing articles in the AWS? Dear me, Dear me.

I have written in the AWS before, but don't do so anymore... Read this post of mine to understand better:

Surely that limits your writing capibilty though. Wait, here's an idea, why doesn't the game give newspaper reporters each another account on the forum so that they can write articles?

By the way, is Dupuy still around, @Venerable? I want to talk to him; I have a proposal for him.

@Venerable, might I interview you?

Sorry, @Venerable. Now might you answer the questions?
