[Please note] This article was written in june back when I was a reporter, but it has never been published. Hopefully there might be some new articles about the recent tournaments!

Greetings dear readers. We are meeting again for a new article in which we are going to discover an unofficial tournament that I organize (@Sabry.Superman). We will first see the objective of the game as well as the rules, and then we will have a look at the game.

Rules

The principle of Tankiball is mainly based on football. The objective of football is to have a ball in the game with two opposing teams. The main goal is to put the ball in the goal to score a point. It is the same principle in Tanki Online. Before you know the rules you should know that when the Rugby mode didn't exist, there was a tank called "The_ball". It was important to know that this tank had a strong protection in order to resist and not to die so as not to lose time. As advantages, it allowed to play and to have a ball which returns automatically on the ground to be able to continue the match, because it was a helper. However, the disadvantages were more present because it was not possible to train without dying, considering that a ball was needed, knowing that a protection is necessary to survive the shots of the Hammers, and that this protection would have been necessary to train. Furthermore, the tank used was the Wasp, which meant that it was relatively small to fit into the Stadium map. And finally, a last disadvantage was that the Hammer was needed and its power, depending on its module, meant that it could shoot the ball more or less hard, which was quite unfair. You can see a preview of an old game before the Rugby mode on the GIF below.

The operation of the Tankiball changed a lot when the Rugby mode, nicknamed RGB, was added. This presented a lot of solutions to the problems that had been found, including the addition of new rules. So let's find out together. For the moment, let's start by analysing the advantages of this new change. First of all, we mentioned the problem of training, for this new mode, you just have to create a RGB Stadium mode map. In addition, it allows you to practice and have a smaller ball that can fit in the goal. Regarding the new rules, it should be noted that the mode allows players to carry the ball and throw it, so it is the best opportunity to make at least two passes before scoring a goal, which was not necessarily the case before these new rules.

The predictions

After having talked about the rules and the functioning of the system, we will review in a few lines the course of an unofficial TankiBall tournament. It should be noted that official Tankiball events are managed by the events team. Nine teams registered and decided to join the tournament. The aim was simple, to have fun following the Tankiball rules. Teams were made up of at least two members to be able to play in 2V2 mode, depending on the number of players who came. Players were allowed to have a third player available as a substitute. More importantly, I decided with the referees at my disposal, namely @chinufire1, @Juodai_Baltas and @Oblivious that we were going to give the players the choice to choose on a time they decide among themselves to give them more freedom. So let's move on to the predictions. All the matches have been played so far except for the final between Team W-R and Team 2V1. These two teams have beaten the other teams, who have nevertheless played well. We could call this upcoming match a match of the titans, as both teams defeated their enemies with a fairly high score.

We can clearly see that the W-R team had a longer journey than the other teams but managed to reach the final. This is now the only opportunity for you, dear readers, to vote! You can vote for the winning team on this special website.

Matches

Before we talk about the matches, let's find out about all our teams and their participants:

These teams played this tournament faster than expected, probably due to the excitement of the tournament. You'll be able to watch some of the matches on replay thanks to our viewers @Graphics and @Spy who agreed to be able to watch some of the matches and to record a track. Luckily, the two parts of the recording show the 2v1 Vs Sneaky and the W-R vs Plsers matches respectively. This may help you to decide which team to vote for. These two teams have a relatively different but unique way of working! Let's try to stop the suspense and give you the opportunity to watch these matches again.

The Tankiball event is an annual event on Tanki Online, officially organized by the events team. It is a rather popular event, firstly because of its rarity, which creates envy, and secondly because of the gameplay, which promotes team spirit. We are coming to the end of this article, but we will meet again in a future article. See you soon!
