Tesla turret to op?

So i went on the test server and got to play with the tesla turret a bit  https://test.tankionline.com/  in my opinion it is way to overpowered. They say that it is a melee range turret(which it is) however they give it the ability to expand teh range alomst over the entire map. see below in the pictures

with these capabilities, it turns a melee range weapon into a longrange electricity beam, that can shoot around corners, and hit almost 8 people at once if used properlly. In my opinion this turret is way to overpowered and should definitelly be nerfed before being added to the game!

The good thing is that there's a whole bunch of parameters which can be adjusted in order to account for balance:

• Damage
• Rate of fire
• Speed of projectile
• Range of connection
• Addition of various restrictions (e.g. no more than 4 links in the chain)

But even with the current settings it is way too early to tell how this turret will perform in battles. For example, the projectiles are very slow, so you can just stay away from them to avoid getting attacked. Or an enemy Tesla can use the same chain of projectiles to damage you (and your teammates nearby) by shooting at the other end of the chain.

Honestly, seeing the potential for gameplay application of Tesla's mechanics, I think it will become the most skill-dependent turret in the game. We'll have to wait and see.

You just forgot one crucial thing, which is that the turret deals the same total amount of damage per shot regardless of the number of ennemie affected,  in other word the damages taken per tanks is divided by the number of tanks affected. For example if a shot is 500HP, and 5 tanks in the damage effective area then it will only deal 100hp per tanks (500 / 5 = 100). If only 2 tanks then 500 /2 = 250 HP damages. This is the opposite of splash damage, where the overall damage is increased by the number of tanks in the splash zone.

So you have to be careful not to extend the Tesla range too far with the thunder balls, because ennemis closest to you will kill you before you kill them as your damages is diluted. Therefore the mechanics is a double-edged sword. And as any turret if you understand the mechanics and applies it in te right situation it can be OP, or UP if you are not in the right situation. Even OP turrets are useless in the hands of half-baked players.

Make sure you look at all the mechanics details before drawing conclusion.

It's not overpowered. If anything, it's far too complicated to use for the average user.

But it is pretty game-breaking since it can shoot around obstacles in any orientation.

I can't wait to see all the campers shooting Tesla balls and dealing damage across the map.
