The main zapping mechanic for Tesla was strong with 800 a tick. But that is Mk8. Most players won't have that.

The lightning ball is completely useless unless a lot of teammates make chains.

With Tesla coming soon, I'll share my initial expectations based on test server footage I've seen.

I'll start with Tesla's first mode in a vacuum (a.k.a. no second mode to complement it). Unlike the three current melee range turrets, Tesla at melee range fires its projectiles one at a time (at a decently fast rate, nonetheless). To make up for that, per the test server footage, each Tesla hit deals good chunk of damage. In a sense, Tesla's first mode in a vacuum will behave somewhat like Smoky but with a smaller damage range and a cone angle.

Once we add Tesla's second mode, though, Tesla truly stands out. The slowly moving lightning balls are essentially extra hazards for enemy tankers to avoid, as hitting them presumably hurts. Add the chain lightning, however, and now you have a net of lightning for enemies to contend with. If set up properly, the lightning net can be both a great defensive tool to secure an area (like a team's flag) or an offensive tool that forces enemies to be more active.

That being said, I do have a few concerns. I haven't seen any indication (on the footage or the announcement) that the lightning balls will fizzle out if their user(s) is destroyed or self-destructs. If that is the case, then setting up an effective lightning net will pretty much be the next OP thing that can further imbalance battles in MM, which are already prone to imbalance.

I suppose the balancing factors will come down to Tesla's damage and the difficulty of making such nets. For instance, if a Tesla user is too busy trying to make their ideal lightning net, then they leave the door open for enemies to counterattack or take the initiative. Additionally, lowering the damage from Tesla's projectiles and/or lightning net will make counterplay more manageable. Time will tell how Tesla turns out on its debut and down the line.

not interested in purchasing this item at this time. why buy it when in a few weeks it would be in our garages for crystals. which with the event this weekend more players will be able to claim it when it's ends up in the garage .also right now the the new turret would be having  issues with it that it wont be good to battle with.( been down this road before when they release new items )

also in a few weeks the turret will also get changed to make players loose interest in it..

What does that mean? ?‍♂️   The Mk8 Tesla with 800dmg against Mk8 Viking is the same comparison between Mk6 Tesla vs Mk6 Viking..! I thought you are in higher level than missing this basic rule!

Like if I said Railgun is stronger than Gauss because Railgun with DD can one-shot Viking..

I know you are a Legend player who probably faces off against Viking Mk7 or Mk8. Are you going to get Tesla Mk8 Day 1 release? No?

 

Or maybe you are one of the noobs who use low Mk Turrets against max GS players?

Thought you had a better understanding ?‍♀️

I’m not considering Legends who use anything under Mk7. Unless they are not upgrading on purpose for some troll account. Legends with like 5K GS with Mk5 Hulls are complete noobs and just sabotaging

XT doesn't fit others TXs by lack of silver plating and some nature character. This applied for Crussader and Hopper too. Why?

I hope that was a WIP

So as HD skin look more like UT (as with Ares).

Why no new icon for damage? This applies for HH's ODs too. Is this too much?

I know, that all of this is little things, but they make whole painting worse.

never tried it and wont.

i  also don't like the sound it makes when shooting. it just doesn't fight into this game . it stands out in a strange way

Encounterd this tesla in a couple of games.  They were destroying everyone.  Until things get equaled out and there is a defense I'll just leave games with a tesla involved.
