Balancing Twins

Twins is one the most over used turrets. It's projectile's speed is ok, fire rate is good, range is ok, damage is good and has infinite reload. This infinite reload is actually irritating. This thing can kill as fast as ricochet when it is equipped with plasma accelerator, which gives it insane range and projectile speed. Fire rate being reduced is actually not noticeable. One its done killing it can aim at others. No need to worry about it being depleted. Even ricochet has problem facing this issue. It can easily juggle light and medium hulls throwing off their aim. It's just too overpowered. It also has splash damage. I know there are going to be some twins spammers who are going to say just because it has to but on others perspective it's unfair. 

 

I suggest that twins should get a finite reload like ricochet and wait for it to fill up.

The thing that makes Twins unique is its infinite reload. I personally do not find Twins over used or overpowered.

Actually, twins is very far from overused. In popularity, i doubt that it's in the top 5 turrets. Also, vulcan can fir to the infinity too with heat immunity. I think twins is powerful, but not OP, kinda uniqe and a good choice as a short ranged turret. I think no changes are needed at the moment for it.

Since i returned, i have never seen Twins being over-used. It's actually quite under-used if you ask me-

I would nerf Twin by reducing its impact force but increasing its firerate. RN, it's the impact force that is absolutely obnoxious for that firerate (same thing goes to Ricochet).

And no, don't tell me to use Panther module because I will feel bad them if I ever do it (unless they decided to use module against me 1st).

I've only seen a few in the last 3 weeks. I don't know how that's considered overused.

First off you're exaggerating, and second off the firing rate reduction here is quite noticeable, especially if you're A twins main.

Splash damage seems to work against twins rather than for it. Better to just equip STP or PCA augments.

that's what makes twins unique. Besides it has to get in range.

You have this feeling that it is being over used, but actually it isn't at all, you have this feeling because there is a special mission which ask to use either twins/ricochet/hammer for 300 kills, when this mission will pass, everything will go back to normal. However, as a player that played all 14 turrets in the game for 1M experience each atleast, twins was one of the most annoying to do, it is actually a bit under powered than what it used to be in 2016 for example.

This is basically the reversed version of the Critical Damage update.

 

Only instead of making all turrets have critical hit like Smoky, it's making Twins have finite ammo like all other turrets (except Tesla).

Eventually, the turrets will all just be reskins and alterations of each other. :(

Twins can reload and shoot fast, but it has around 205 damage per shot.

It has to hit a:

  • Light Hull about 10 times.
  • Medium Hull about 15 times.
  • Heavy Hull about 20 times.

to defeat it.

 

The opponent has this many shots to escape the Twins user!

If we have Double Armor and Protection, we can survive even longer from it!

I think distance also reduces the shot of Twins, so it has to get close to do its normal damage.

So it's not too over-powered.

 

There are Augments that increase Twins' damage, but reduce its projectile speed. Others increase projectile speed, but reduce firing rate, etc.

You should use Medium or Heavy Hulls to survive longer along with supplies/protections/Drones.

the only thing that i want to be fixed i it's bullets when i enter the match i see plasma balls everywhere which causes no damage (same for striker and ricochet)
