Magnum: increase max damage retention when splashing.

I feel like its current max damage retention is laughable considering the amount of skill it takes. You basically have to get a direct hit to retain a decent amount.

That's why I think it should retain up to 70% of its max damage to as far as 10 metres, and after that 45% all the way to the 20 metre mark.

I definitely agree that Magnum requires a lot of skill compared to other turrets, but it is not as hard to control as it seems. If the max damage for splashing was increased, it would make Magnum way too strong. I believe Magnum is fine as is now.

Magnum already have the highest splash-damage for a turret, I see it's balanced. We don't need old Gauss float again. And the advantage of shooting the enemy without direct hit is really OP, you can hide from Shaft - Gauss Railgun, but Magnum will shoot you anyway.

Zero damage isn't one of Magnum's characters or advantages/disadvantages. If Magnum is OP now because they fixed the bug, it's OP also before.

The 0 damage bug actually making magnum balanced. XD 

Bug fixed after many years: OP as heck and is more annoying to go against.

So you want to be able to do min 70% damage over a 40m area?  ?

Users won't need any skill at all.

Rip... people getting destroyed from wide radius from magnum splash. Sounds pretty broken to me...add viking OD and its purely broken... even when i have Griffin on, that stupid turret somehow one hits me even from splash...probs from a booster user but thats not the point...magnum actually needs a nerf in damage, or the splash radius.

I see you misread the topic. Or that your math is off. 10+10 is only 20.

You are right - I read it wrong. 

But you want to go from 50% at 5m  to  70% at 10m.  Doubling the radius and adding 20% is too much.

I stand by my comment about not needing much skill... especially since you are doing 45% over that 40m.

@Spy, you betrayed me. Said you liked my ideas, but told me to post them separately. So I did but you set a trap for me to run into by merging two of the ideas into another topic and declining the third.

 

Welp now I know what not to do again.

I personally like what you suggest but we have to think about the consequences of each idea, and in the end your idea here would do more harm than good.

There's a difference between a personal opinion, and a status an I&S manager gives.

I guess it doesn't need this after all. All vertical magnum really needs is automated gunpowder loading mechanism alt and a hover hull.

So this idea is invalid.

 

However if I see one like, agree, or thanks reaction on this post, I will hunt you down like the pig you are.
