Gold boxes should not influence balance changes.

Because of gold boxes, really dumb updates like mammoths invincibility being removed, hunter supply cool down ability nerfed from 30 to 5 seconds, and the addition of hopper has happened.

 

So I suggest that gold boxes not be an influence on balance changes. Any sort of balance changes that are suggested because of gold boxes are invalid, and should be treated as invalid.

 

Hell, it should be a rule to decline such ideas.

Gold boxes are still a part of the game even if they are not as relevant as they used to be, many players still find them enjoyable to catch. Hence, gold boxes will be considered when making balance changes. However, gold boxes are not the main "thing" that's being considered when making balance changes.

But... if gold boxes would influence balance changes, Hopper would NOT be added, as it clearly destroys the idea of catching golds. The concept of Hopper is actually quite interesting, as its overdrive creates a whole new approach to tactics and movement. With a few notable exceptions, I'd say it's fairly balanced.

The other changes you mentioned weren't necessarily done only because of gold boxes. Hunter's 30 second supply cooldown was insanely long, while Mammoth's invincibility allowed for some game-breaking tactics (as well as ruined gold boxes, yes).

They could've tried 15 seconds for hunter first before resorting to 5 seconds.

 

They also could've given ways to counter mammoths OD. Like hunter would deactivate it, wasp bomb would destroy it so would Ares OD.

Mammoths invincibility was not the problem back then, it was the fact that the devs never implemented a way to counter it.

Bad excuse, if developers will stupidly buff EMP Gauss to 15s because Hunter had it that means EMP Gauss is OP and completely irrelated to Hunter.

Imagine we prohibit Hunter from its righteous balance just because developers wont buff EMP Gauss or as "your concept" because developers may not do this!
