Tesla Self Damage

Premise:

So as we all know, when a tesla shoots a ball it gets self damage if it's too close to the ball when it explodes.

But what about when shooting through lighting. The fact that Tesla can deal damage to multiple enemies without getting self damage in that mode makes Tesla OP. 

My suggestion:

If Tesla is shooting more than one enemy through lightning, than the tank will also receive damage too.

Example:

Let's say I am using Tesla, and I am dealing damage to 4 enemies. In that case I will be getting x3 splash damage. If I am shooting 5 enemies, then x4  splash damage. The more enemies I am dealing damage at a time, the higher self damage I get.

How to avoid self-damage:

An augment for Tesla to remove splash damage can also be introduced but using that augment, you can't deal damage to more than one enemy.

Conclusion:

This will nerf Tesla without nerfing Tesla ;)

To be honest that would be way too much for its mechanics. The web part is actually a unique mechanic it has and well this would only make people to avoid using it.

To be honest, I don't find any reason for all this, when you can just reduce the damage of the Turret. Mk5 Tesla's damage is enough even for Mk7 Hulls so Mk7 Tesla's damage can be reduced to that of Mk5. Simple enough. Why all this when you can just nerf its damage?

yes I see what you mean. But still don't you think self damage on/off (using augments) will make this turret challenging to use?

Damn, that'll be brutal. Every Tesla player will just end up using the sparks rather than the normal mode.

I think it would be better if the enemy tank doesn't act like sparks and connects your shots to another nearby enemy.

Agreed that's the idea behind it. I mean think about it. The definition of splash damage is that you deal damage to multiple enemies close to each other in one shot. But using Tesla you can do splash damage without self damage or whatsoever. This makes it OP.

Yup and will switch to normal mode when there's a single enemy.

i dont know why i saw so many topic involving tesla to nerf without to nerf( and the % of the micro blah blah etcetc)  .
THAT STUPID THING is OP  1 to 1 , even without balls in the way . Tried everything just to judge unbiased.
Put protection ( 47def ) using every turret  . tesla user (WITHOUT  protection ) wins  100% ..only by using booster you get your chance.
They will nerf it later on after the  buyer arc/ satisfaction period  i guess , i mean can't be else..  or they like to see people being angry about , dunno..  
Like others said , REDUCE the fokking DAMAGE it has already too many other  points of advantage ..

if i think at when people complained about "isida at his prime"that thing is ridicously  10 times worst unbalanced. And i have it too with  mods thanks to sales , that does not mean it's cool , kinda hate to to be forced to use something cause it's op ( like tocomplete  the "be first 3 spot winner  mission " or sort of) .

As far as I experienced the Tesla it self either using it or being a victim of it, Tesla needs none of those solutions, actually, you can ignore more of its damage by putting on its protection. Tesla is not an unbalanced turret where you have Weasel protection. Same as railgun where you do not equip falcon; you will be a fast kill for railgun users.

I appreciate your input and feedback.
Tesla Mk5 can kill Viking Mk7 in the same amount of time as a Firebird Mk7 shooting at a Viking with the same modification in the absence of all supplies and protections and alterations. Not to mention that Tesla can shoot multiple enemies at the same time.

This was tested and evaluated by myself.

My Mk8 Railgun deals 700 damage (non-critical),  in the absence of all supplies and protections and alterations, which is too low. With someone having 50% again railgun, the damage decreases to 350.

sorry for the inaccurate introduction. railgun is the strongest if no body wears protections n boosted Armour. the same status as tesla is in unless more people wear weasel. regardless of the hulls hitpoints.

Indeed , tesla has a fair advantage in close range and is  quite the unstoppable  if the enemy doesn't have prots , but i wouldn't say that about rail now :( perhaps its nerf has completely changed its dynamics

Don't you think this is a bit of a strong word?
Like I know for a fact that if the enemy has every turrets protection except Railgun, even then Railgun wouldn't be the strongest.
