I noticed that alot of other games have this, and I thought it'd be cool if tanki had this as well. 

 We can exclude the blue weekly containers for obvious reasons though.

Example of this would be:

PirateSpider got an Epic reward from container: Black shot effect for shaft.

PirateSpider got a Legendary reward from container: Healing Emitters augment for shaft.

PirateSpider got an Exotic reward from container: Shaft XT skin.

Saw this implemented on a (once very popular) minecraft server, and it's a pretty nice feature. The difference though is that on the server it felt a lot more interactive, since other players could actually stand around and watch someone opening lootboxes. In Tanki it may be a bit of a nuisance, especially if there's multiple people opening lots of containers at once, which expected to happen when events and special offers are introduced.

Container openings are very common now, in fact opening 5 containers at least has the viable chance to give you something epic or above. I would recommend only showing legendary or exotic because that is what matters the most and what you want the other players to get to know, because nearly everyone opens a lot of containers now days which will lead to a decrease in the effectivity of chats,whether general or clan and finally along with the option others suggested to disable it in settings as per your will.
