The devs want to improve eSports, then unlike MM they have got to start and listen to those players who know what they are talking about.

The devs might run TO but it's the experienced players who battle every day who no what is best to improve TO as a whole.

The devs need to get every eSports clan leader on board to discuss new ideas, not having these experienced players have a say on how to improve it would be a mistake.

Even though I'm very doubtful that it would happen, I'm kinda hoping it allowed them to hit the reset button on their thinking/plans with this game. And for the better of the game.

I do agree that we are expecting to see the V-Log return this week on Friday. I hope that V-Logs for 2022 will have new intro music and a different font style on the V-Log's thumbnail, like it was done at the beginning on last year.

If their plans are "fine", then how come the game has lost 90-97% of its total player base in just 5-6 years? And more are still leaving?

Honestly, who even liked the all thunder nerfs and striker buffs that occurred in the later part of 2021?

For me, the changes are fine, but for some players, the changes are bad. However, we shall see if more players come to play Tanki Online this year, or, if not, then this game will go bust sometime this year if too many players leave. To be honest with you, I do not mind if Tanki Online dies like Tanki X did.

I give you an example, if there is an update of Paladin which is now the most used and most seen as OP. Then if we nerf him there will be two reactions depending on the players:

  • The players who used Paladin a lot will not like it at all.
  • The players who used to endure Paladin's attacks will be happy because it will make them less strong.

Ok, I admit that was not an appropriate question.

Here's a couple better questions then.

Who was happy when the augment prices was jumped from a mere 20-50k crystals to an insane 150-245k crystals?

Was there any positive reaction for the skin container being replaced in challenges by a single nuclear supply?

Unpopular opinion ahead: I actually think the current version of challenges/battle pass is the best they have ever been, and the developers have done a pretty good job in this area. And I am glad they removed skin container from the battle pass.

Why you ask? Well first of all regarding the challenges/battle pass value for effort/money: The silver tier has been buffed a lot, with paints/ epic tier augment etc and more containers than we used to get, and most importantly the challenge for both gold and silver tiers is now much easier to complete than it used to be, with the stars from missions, and regular special missions which reward stars too.

As for the gold tier, I think the current price of 700 tankoins is fair. You can achieve that after a reasonable amount of time for free players (like myself), or for a reasonable price if you are a buyer. The rewards are very much worth it, you get a strong turret augment (or if it isn't one you want, you can just wait for something else), usually a good hull augment and often a nice paint too. The only problem is the nuclear energy supply - understand what the developers were trying to achieve with this, but it doesn't achieve it - relatively useless for free players, and if buyers got too many of them, it could destroy the game balance. Other than nuclear energy supplies, I think the battle pass is in a good place.

Back when the pass was 500 tankoins, it was too cheap for what it offered. 700 is a fair compromise, we don't want the most powerful augments becoming even more common than they are now - I think the current price is a fair compromise. The battle pass is one of the best value things you can spend tankoins on as a free player.

Now why do I agree with the skin container being removed from the battle pass? Well first of all, it was making skins too common. If skins are too common, they are much less exciting or much less valuable if you are able to obtain them - they need to be kept somewhat rare. You CAN still get skins if you open many containers/free Ultras - I generally tend to land them every so often from regular or Ultra containers between my main and alt accounts - for instance my main account got Dictator XT from a shard container, and Hopper XT from an Ultra Container obtained from special missions.

From the other side of things, skins are one of the best things that Tanki sells, because they are a valuable cosmetic item - they allow the game to make money WITHOUT selling pay-to-win items, which actually affect game balance. From that perspective - the more money Tanki can make from cosmetic items such as skins (instead of actual pay-to-win equipment, instead), the better for free players/light buyers, and the better for game balance. So lets keep skins rare, please, and valuable - and the developers can try to make money off that rather than items that will actually affect balance.

Now what about the augments change? Well that one I am not so sure about, I did like the old system with augments locked to different ranks, and some of them being cheaper. However, we are now able to obtain augments from containers (if you get lucky), from challenges (even the silver tier), and in addition to that player crystal income has increased a LOT from what it used to be. The new weekly container, and the new challenge format has raised low rank income considerably, as well as the regular Ultra weekends, plus the same is true slightly for Legend ranked players - but they also benefit a lot from the regular increased exp/crystals. The increased xp is very bad for low ranked players admittedly, for Legends however it works out well.

So augments are more expensive, but we also have more ways to obtain them, plus a much larger income than we used to have. Hard to say whether I like or dislike the current system. but personally I am doing OK on my main and alt accounts as a free player regarding augments - so I don't have a huge problem with it.

There are problems with the game, but those are definitely not the areas which I would be complaining about. Challenges/Battle pass etc. are in pretty good shape, one of the good changes in recent times.
