Question

Something weird just happened.  I play with Shaft on a Viking.  I was in TDM and got killed.  When I respawned, I had Twins on some other massive hull, neither of which I own.  Weirder still, when I fired, my shots were from a Railgun.  While I tried to figure out how to fire Railgun from Twins while trying to drive some unknown hull, I got killed again.  Then I respawned as my old self, Shaft on Viking.  What a trip!

I thought it was straight TDM, but I had noticed some different sound effects.  Still, to become the new Juggernaut, don't I have to kill the old Juggernaut?  I hadn't killed anyone, rather I had been killed.

In team juggernaut, you just need to be the first to spawn after your juggernaut, provided you didn't self destruct to do so.

That is the case of "Solo Juggernaut" or the SJR mode. What we currently have in Matchmaking is the "Team Juggernaut" or the TJR mode.

TJR doesn't require you to kill the JGR to become the one, rather if you spawn after the ally Juggernaut has been killed, you will become the Juggernaut yourself.

But there are certain exceptions to it, check more about the mode here.
