Container Valuation Spreadsheet

Hi all!

I looked through the questions and comments about personal container valuation and how it's not the high value I put in as a placeholder and for the benefit of the doubt. To resolve this, I created a spreadsheet that allows you to input personal valuations to each (type of) item and how many you have to give you a custom valuation on how much your container is worth.

To use this, simply go to the sheet and change the values for personal valuations in the Valuations column and update the (approximate) number of each item you have in the Quantity column. It will then calculate your expected value for you.

There are valuations for the Ultra Container and regular Container. In the future, hopefully I can support a version of the old container vs current container if the stats are released for those.

Notes:

  • You might want to make a copy so that you can add extra items - e.g. if you really want a specific paint, you can set a custom valuation for that paint and a different valuation for all other paints. However, I have left it editable in case you want to play around with it as is.
  • Please let me know if there is any error or issue and I will try to maintain it before I go back to school.

Very nice :) Thanks for taking the time to make this ? Gives interesting approximations for the value of Containers/Ultras. Provided of course, that the numbers the developers have provided are accurate - let's hope they are.

Sounds like a good idea, especially if you post specifics. That would help find conditional probabilities, e.g. the probability of paints given an epic drop, or P[Paint|Epic Drop]. I'll make a form to submit results.

I opened a new account after the update.

I collected the 23 Containers at rank 7, and I'm now at rank 8.

I also bought all Mk1 Turrets and Hulls along the way, and also bought all the color paints.

I completed some Daily and Weekly Missions and got a total of 31 Containers.

And here are the screenshots of each 15 Container openings.

  • 7 had 1000 crystals
  • 2 had 3000 crystals
  • 1 had 100 BAs
  • 1 had 100 SBs
  • 2 had 100 mines
  • 2 had 100 RKs

  • 4 had 100 BAs

My rewards from 150 new containers, earned from play. They've really been diluted, haven't they. The worst single container you get is for ranking. When you open it, you get 1000  crystals. It's a slap in the face.

 

If you're wondering what the Hull augment and Turret Augment I got, they were AP for Hopper and Jammer for Freeze. No doubt I'll see them as rewards in challenges soon.

Very interesting data, thanks for posting :) Yes, the single container for ranking is definitely the most painful aspect of this change - it just isn't right that we get 1k crystals after 200k experience for each Legend rank, with the same rewards for a rank up whether at Warrant Officer 1 or Legend. The old system with crystal rewards which increased for each rank was perfect, it wouldn't break the economy to bring it back.

I've personally opened over 1600 containers (most of them from the "token of apology") between all my accounts, and only received one Legendary out of all of those. I suspect (hope) that the "token of apology" containers had a lowered chance to give Legendary drops, and the stats you show here are closer to the truth for "normal" containers - with the claimed 1% Legendary drop rate.

It is interesting that you received only 100 batteries out of 150 containers - that shows just how shockingly low the rate at which we get batteries now is. A 50 battery pack needs to be added to the rare tier or something (as well as a daily battery allowance in the garage), having batteries only in the epic tier (with them also taken away from mission rewards), is rather absurd.

Regarding augments, you were fortunate to get Jamming Mix - that is in my opinion, the best Freeze augment right now, and hence one of the best augments in the game. I would definitely use that as my main Freeze augment if I had it. Hopper AP Immunity is not so useful of course, with Hopper's relative weakness currently - but useful for increased gold rate modes at least.

Couple that with the fact that you no longer get a solid amount of crystals for ranking up and that is a real problem. Just made Legend 39 on my other account and got a whopping 1000 crystals. truly ridiculous.

Yes, the rank up rewards thing really needs to change, it is just absurd. There is almost no significance or motivation to gaining new ranks at Legend now - 40k was a nice little bonus. Not too much that it broke the economy in any way, but enough to feel somewhat rewarding. Also the increase in rewards for ranking up as you go through the ranks was perfect, Tanki had had the same rewards for ranking up for a long time, and it matched with the increased amount of XP for each rank.

If they don't want to bring back the crystals that we had before (which they should), then at least give supplies, or slightly more containers for higher ranked rank-ups. Something, anything. But going back to the scaling crystal system that we had before would be best.

I feel like even a single Ultra container would be significantly better.

That would be nice, but I doubt they would give out Ultras just for ranking :P Since it contains most of their most valuable current items, etc. But something needs to change with the rank rewards, anyhow. What we have now is just not right at all.

I would love to see a system where for example you still get 1container for a rank up, but each fifth rank up you would get 5containers and each 10th rank up 10ultra containers.

It would bring back the sense of looking forward to something. But then again, developers have reserved the right not to take any suggestions regarding rewards, so let´s hope they bring forth something similiar themselves :) .

10 containers is the minimum at the legend level. I rarely get anything more than 1000 crystals or mines...truly awful change in the game. The clan I'm in is exploring different games at this point. I still enjoy Tanki, but understand the frustration

Yup - I've opened hundreds of containers, including Ultra - and got 1 container with batteries.

They want us to spend $$ on batteries or be relegated to using Brutus.

Batteries are now what all the supplies were 7 years ago - mostly available only through $ purchases.

Notice how batteries are missing from the mini-kits in daily shop?

The only two logical reasons why I believe that containers have lower probability could be....

A. Turrets hulls and drones will be locked behind containers, as it already started. To lock people into the gambling addiction to make more sales from newer players. 

B. Make missions that will help you earn more tankoins easier to have easier access to loot boxes.

Other than these 2, I dont see any other possibilities. I could be wrong about this too. But this is what I'm thinking.

In short, tanki would be taking a very huge risk economically. Which I believe is a huge price to pay to keep the project going somehow. I think of this as a huge gamble. 

I really hope they have some sort of a backup plan....

I think they may even in future add the turret upgrades in containers, you can't upgrade the turret before you get the upgrade slot from containers.  Because many games have this. But not sure if they will add it

I highly doubt they would lock up MUs otherwise even more players will leave. It would be more damaging to the economy. I mean they took a huge gamble by making the chances smaller.

Definitely I wasn't meaning MU's, I was meaning the Mk upgrades.

Oh I read that wrong my bad. Oh yeah I think I know for example like mk3 in a container or mk4 and so on... I highly doubt that they will do this as well.
