As I am sure most of us know, tanki online is a video game where we can play with players of all ages from many different parts of the world. Of course, when there is a video game, there are always those individuals who don't play fairly. I have seen many players who have encountered hackers throughout their time playing tanki online and some seem to encounter them more than others. I as a player have had my fair share of encounters with those who cheat and I know it isn't fun to play with or against them.

I have decided to create this topic where we can discuss issues involving those individuals who refuse to play the game fairly. I also would like some feedback on what can do to resolve this issue, suggest some tips for battle moderators, or a memorable experience involving a hacker.

I have created a poll where you can answer some questions regarding your experiences with hackers in the game

I gotta love the poll. Hackers have really ruined this game and the moderators show no effort banning those rotten scumbags either. I was banned for a month on one of my alternate accounts because I made 4 reports on game reports (only 3 were related to hackers).

Tanki needs to extend the ban from a month to forever. This never teaches them a lesson. Moderation does nothing except mess around all day banning people who use profanity on the chats and those who say something negative about the game

I think you guys exaggerating above

After HTML5 I have rarely seen a hack, I voted for seldom. Most of the hacks I see are just testers, or ones who don't have a constant perform that gives them a pure advantage. Mostly I see a normal player with constant gameplay have better advantage over hacks. Most of hacks don't go over than a flip hack - a not constant speed hack - a bad no recoil/impact.  But damage-health hacks are IMPOSSIBLE. If you seen, please send prove, as you see them almostly always.

If the strongest hack in the game can make a F2P with 9699GS beat a buyer with 9999GS, then I can take a look and change my opinion at hacks.

I voted for "almost never". At high ranks I don't even remember the last time I saw a hacker, and it's been years since a hacker really messed up my game. The worst I've seen in recent years is some jump hackers taking gold boxes, but even those are extremely rare to see on high ranks, and they don't really bother me.

The situation today is nothing compared to something like 2012, when you had hackers teleporting between bases and capturing hundreds of flags per minute, or sitting in a corner pressing spacebar, which automatically killed every enemy on the map. During that time is was hell.

These days most "hacks" are either intentional game mechanics (or side effects of certain game mechanics), or visual bugs caused by lag.
For example, Striker may look like it has "vertical angle shot" hack, but in fact its elevation angle was intentionally made to be 45° recently, which looks strange in-game; heavyweight augments cause tanks to glitch through other tanks, which looks like ignore hacks; Crisis drone looks like speed hack; Lifeguard drone looks like damage reduction hack, high ping causes movement and knockback to not display correctly, etc. etc.

Important clarification — chat violations and game violations are dealt with by two different teams: chat moderators and battle moderators, respectively. Even if the chat moderators didn't "mess around all day" giving out profanity bans, they can't just go and deal with battle violations instead. That takes a separate set of skills and permissions.

I agree. I thought hack bans were already forever, but I guess it was changed to a month at some point.

Better than some games who offer unbanning yourself with $$  Which shows their dishonesty about banning them

Been a while since I saw any hacker in the game, not in low ranks too.

I remember back in 2015, when no-reloading-fast-shooting hack was introduced, people with smoky and twins and maybe rail would shoot at an immense speed with almost no reload and infinite firing rate. I think devs liked that concept and introduced in the form of, which is known to players as "Viking Overdrive".

I see some hackers now and then in the test server, but that too mostly Jump hacks but fortunately none in the Main servers.

I do not think banning them forever is a suitable option. Of course, you are breaking the rules, so punishment is justified, but as they say "A second chance should be always availed". If they continue to break the rules, then it is agreeable to take strict actions against players.

Nope, hacks of increasing reload speed or turret damage have been patched before 2015 with a long while, I don't know how TS assumed that such a thing exist in 2022.

Could be, I don't vividly remember the exact year.

I have seen about 4 hackers in my whole tanki careers. Oddly, only in low ranks. All of the hacks I saw were jump hacks. Saw a shaft wasp ju.p onto a house 0 skills in parkour. Wow! Ofc it was unfair and I tried to foil his attempts even tho he was in my team. He wasn't much of a game decider in that battle tho.

One note - Tanki is very restrictive about the age !

remember EULA:

THE GAME IS INTENDED ONLY FOR USERS WHO ARE 13 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER.  The Game is not targeted towards, nor intended for use by, anyone under the age of 13.

If you older than 13 years of age, and under the age of 18, you may use the Game only under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by this EULA and any additional terms contained in related documents.

So, with the tough restrictions even for players aged between 13 and 18, the game is pretty much locked for teenagers and absolutely closed for kids under 13.

You think they care if kids play and gamble. The devs don't care about the rules, they have to do this EULA because it covers them just in case it goes sideways and this EULA covers all the angles. The devs may be devious but they are certainly not stupid.

Hackers were a serious threat only years ago, around 2013-2015. Now, I almost never see them.

Maybe you think some players cheat, but the game is filled with broken mechanics that almost seem like cheating. (I have been accused to cheat several times)

For example, a Vampire Isida w/ Defender/Lifeguard and a Healing Shaft is basically immortal, and you might think it is hacking, but it's not.

Or infinite Overdrives, we have the Nuclear Supply in the game now.

Funnily enough, the Test Server if often full of Hackers with jump hacks/true immortality (0 damage)

To those who voted, always and often, I can already tell you thaz you aren't right. Due to the small playerbase, there's no that I haven't seen any in years, and you are seeing one every battle. That's literally impossible. Maybe the ones who you think a hacker are just lagging, because they have high ping, and it seems like they are teleporting.

Also, I hope you didn't include test server in the poll, as that's where there can actually be some hackers.

To edit what I said, it just came into my mind that i saw a could-be-hacker when tesla was released. He was either lagging hard and/or so many balls were in the game or he was actually hacking. But the anticheat got improved since then, as it was literally the day of release.

Listing it in the rulebooks is one thing, enforcing it is another. That part is there only to save the company if it faces a lawsuit.

LOL you too went to the profile.  One thing I want to say is Xsader have half of the truth and condoned the other half of the truth, that is the developers are actually wanting players under 13 and they definitely don't want an identity document law to be forced like in china, which will cut half of the playerbase.

Yeah, admittedly, after his comments about the same rule in another topic (which is now closed since one of the mods came and closed even though I didn't request it to be) I was genuinely curious about what he thinks on other matters of the game.

Yeah, they want the younger audience so that they can bribe them out of their money.

Regarding the results of the poll, at least the current results, players encounter a lot of visual hacks such as fly hacks, jump hacks, etc. Those hacks are very easy to spot and others such as aimbot, shoot through walls, and tool assisted shooting (TAS) are much more difficult to spot. A few could even have lag as an excuse. I usually report the hackers if they do the shoot through wall and other aiming related hacks three times due to potential lag.

I should have added "other" to the poll on question 2. I have seen newer types of hacks being used more recently and from the test server. Seldom do I see the "new hacks" used in the real tanki online.

I only remember seeing two hackers in this game ever, one was back in 2019 during a Halloween event, the hacker used jump hacks to catch a gold box and immediately left so no one could report them

Also funny story I've already posted long ago: 2018, Brest map, gold box dropping right in the middle of the map, wasp jump hacker goes to the drop zone and jumps up, as soon as he is about to catch the gold box, he gets sniped mid air by some random railgun player on my team who was on the upper part of the map where all the shafts camp, the hacker gets killed in mid air right before he could get to the gold box, knowing how hackers act, he must've been raging after that one lol

@NikmanGT Have you ever played Silence Parkour? They all hang out there with their fast mines, aimbot, BSO, unflipping hacks, and clickers.

They also hang around event mode when there is an "increased" chance of gold boxes. I have seen them at all ranks, but usually lower ranks.
