Feast of Ramadan

Recommended Posts

First of all, good day.
Are you going to hold an event for Eid-al-Fitr for Muslims around the world, which will start on April 2 and last for 30 days?

They did celebrate the Hindu festival Holi.

That is the thing, it's up to developers to decide which festival or holiday to celebrate or which one's to leave. There are many international festivals and holidays which are not celebrated in TO, there are some rare ones which I got to hear only through tanki, and sometimes some rare religious ones, like the Holi you just mentioned, were celebrated, mainly there is no such definite explanation.

Tanki online does not celebrate religious holidays.

Christmas and Easter are also religious holidays....

And they are not celebrated, at least not in the religious way. Christmas is not celebrated at all, instead it's called the New year's celebration. Easter as it was celebrated last year with the decorations of eggs rabbits etc is more of a cultural celebration of spring, rather than the Christian holiday celebrating the resurrection of Christ.

Not really in the West, though I did notice last year that Tanki celebrated the Orthodox dates for Easter.

This is a good point. I'd say that Holi is the closest we've had to a traditional religious holiday being celebrated in Tanki. Christmas, Halloween and Easter do have religious origins and are still celebrated as religious holidays by some communities, but for the majority of people the religious assiciation is lost, and the holidays become more fun-themed: Spooky costumes and candy, decorated pine trees and presents, chocolate eggs and bunnies. I'm not well versed in Hinduism, but I would argue that Holi is also moving away from being a religious holiday, and is instead becoming a celebration of spring, colours, and love.

Ramadan is still very much a religious holiday. If it also eventually moves away from traditional Islamic interpretations and becomes a "mainstream" holiday with a generic theme, then it could also be incorporated into Tanki celebrations in the future.

They celebrated Easter one year. It is a Christian holiday and the event started on Friday and in Christianity, that Friday is know as Good Friday. But the Holi is another example of a religious holiday.

Not sure about this: there are decorated trees, spins, presents under the tree, christmas themed song in the lobby (which have religion roots) etc all of those things are christmas associated things.

The thing is that christmas has lost its religion root by the time passes so everyone more less celebrate it. Even the town where i lived is decorated.

The logic behind this statement was originally based on the fact that, while holidays like Christmas, Halloween and Easter are officially Christian, the way they are celebrated in Tanki is completely detached from their religious aspects. It's all just presents, spooky decorations, and chocolate eggs.

However, with this year's Easter special missions, with titles such as "Deadly Sin", "God's Weapon" and "Manna from Heaven", we will no longer use the same argument against ideas for religious holidays. That being said though, popularity is an important requirement, and Ramadan is still a rather niche celebration that didn't make it into the mainstream yet, and very few people are aware of it outside of the Muslim world, therefore there's little to no chance of it being celebrated in Tanki. The idea remains declined.
