declined Custom Avatars

I really like the ability for players to be able to change their profile avatars. However, there is something missing. Please add the possibility for players to choose any avatar downloaded to their PC's by integrating a browse function to player's profiles. Please note that players must be free to use any avatar they like, rather than being forced to use garbage looking avatars, which are so childish.

Below is the screenshot for changing avatars; its missing a browse button to upload a custom avatar:

Please add a browse button so that players can freely choose to use any avatar they want to use from their PCs or OneDrive. To be honest with you, I do not like this avatar, nor any default one that you provide. I want to change this horrible cartoonish avatar to some other avatar that I do like, which is stored on my computer's hard drive or on my Microsoft OneDrive account.

What if you do a mistake and prefer not to use any avatars? How can I remove my avatar entirely? Therefore, a remove button must also be added so that players can freely choose to remove their avatars when they later change their minds. The main problem with Tanki Online developers is that they never give choice to players on how to customize their in-game profiles.

Please do us a favour so that all players can choose their preferred avatars.

Different colours are held visually to distinguish different position of helpers and the players, we ourselves can't change our helper colours assigned to us. Thus, white colour is for the regular formers.

Please make sure to agree with me on the fact that I am requesting custom avatars to be customized by all players by enabling them to browse their computer's hard drive for any custom image they choose to use as their personal avatars.

The reason why I am asking this is because I hate those ugly looking cartoonish faces. I simply want to use a custom avatar from a good looking image.

for some reason it seems to me that they are not added just like that, I can assume that the problem is precisely in copyright and this can be a problem for the owners of the game

Who cares about copyright when it comes to simply add a simple button to browse for an avatar image downloaded on your computer's hard drive?

This really sucks because developers are limiting players on choosing their preferred avatars and forcing players to use rubbish cartoonish avatars instead. There is not even an option to completely remove avatars as well, which I find really frustrating as well. The problem always comes to this; developers never give players enough freedom and choices when it comes to customization and personalization of user account profiles.

about the fact that the avatar does not have the ability to delete it - I agree, the problem will most likely be solved. Regarding copyright, this is my guess)

Yeah, thats actually a very good idea. But the problem is 100% some people will use avatars of the administration. But I think thats the only problem only

I personally think that my idea will work well. The only thing is that developers must add a feature to prevent the re-use of avatars of the administration. It is possible for them to do that. All they need to do is to add an image scanner when uploading custom avatars. When an administration avatar is uploaded, the image scanner automatically cancels the upload of the image. Any other non-administration avatars can be free used and uploaded without any restrictions.

It doesn't even need to be automated, I think it would even work to just have Forum Moderators manually approve avatars before they are made visible to everyone.
This is a decently small Forum so after the initial rush there'd probably only be a small handful of new users adding/replacing avatars every day. It would be a pretty quick task either way, since there's a pretty straightforward distinction on what can or can't be allowed (Helper/Admin/Developer avatars, Medal of Merit, anything that breaks the game rules).

I can easily put one pixel on the image so the image scanner can't detect, except if it was working with AI.  I think making all images pending approval or whenever a moderator catch an inappropriate image he can warn the user.

I simply hope that developers allow players to use whatever suitable custom avatar they like. That's what I call fairness.

After a discussion with the team, the idea is marked as Declined, the reason being that Devs don't have the intention of players having custom avatars, for security and other miscellaneous reasons. One of them as mentioned by Momentary.

I like how every single Forum all over the world has custom avatars, but here we can't have them due to "security reasons". The Devs can be Hilarious.

 

Not that I care that much about Avatars, knowing the playerbase we would be staring at cartoon characters, dogs or flowers all day... it's just that I find the whole situation amusing.

i mean yeah, people that put nsfw avatars and such can just get banned, no? If you want to protect the forum from people making new accounts and abusing the feature then you can make so new forum users can't change their avatar if their account isn't at least 1 month old (or more than that)

I think some people would put a personal pictures of themselves with no so many clothes on, the forum will consider it as a prohibited because it maybe a little conservative because it consist with a some children playerbase. While people whose want to put the pictures are considering it as a very normal pictures of mines.   So to close other problems, they refused the customizing. With more problems related will rise after that, they just cutted the idea completely.

custom avatars would be nice, but I can see why the moderators don't want to play whack-a-mole with people who keep using inappropriate ones

these days, the only forums I use that allow custom avatars are ones with a small number of members and moderators chosen by members

Maybe you should look further.

World of Tanks, World of Warships and War Thunder do not have a small number of members last time I checked. And this is just to name a few, not to mention online platforms like Steam and Reddit...

 

I have been a mod in the past, and you can easily ban users with inappropriate avatars or signatures, this is just an excuse. The Devs can just say "we don't want our users to have avatars and signatures, for no particular reason."
