New contextual tutorial

With the game’s update on September 2nd, the new contextual tutorial appears in the game.

 

Its task is to teach newcomers on how to play the game and help old tankers to refresh their knowledge about all the intricacies of Tanki Online while travelling through different screens of the game.

 

You cannot skip the tutorial, not yet. This is a temporary decision, so we can collect your feedback and release the tutorial earlier.

  1. For the battle mode selection menu, put an  i   next to each game mode which would describe what a player shall do in that mode, for instance a short vidoe clip, (not just to kill enemies ? it is not TDM) .
  2. For the Icon " i " there can also be another way to be informed is to hovering n holding mouse pointer on the corresponding item for 1 second.

 

 

P.S. The contextual tutorial update was necessary for helping new players stay focused on one combination till higher ranks.

There should be a way to tell players that they should focus on ONE COMBINATION till high ranks. It should be easily accessible and not buried somewhere no one knows.

Add explanation for status effects WITH ICONS and a gif/video on how they work or what they do

The newcomers would find a suitable combo via their luck-drop of containers beforehand till they reach some ranks( i.e, [rank=6] sergeant ) then stay focused on one desireable n suitable combo. during these 6 ranks there are also hints and tips in the garage illustrating any combo via a gif/video clip. The only thing is that if they have micro upgraded their desired combo to the next modification and they find a new turret form their containers, there should be a clip awaring them that it is the best to stay on their current max combo and not to switch to any thing else starting expending crystals on micro upgrading the new turret or hull. For this situation there also can be a hint telling newcomers that crystals are the most important value/resource, form the start of the creation of account, for your tank do not waste it on any other hull or turret instead invest it on one desired turret and one desired hull till you reach marshal.

If there was something like a tiny reward icon next to the " i " icon or on each corresponding tutorial mission for example putting a reward icon with a tiny briefing mission pop-up box next to the button-mode of  CTF for the mission of finish a battle in Capture the Flag mode would help newcomers what mission reward is for what corresponding to-do list.

In my point of view It sounds rewarding for newcomers if you make some easy/tiny achievements in players statistics and achievements window which would be interesting for newcomers to also keep track of their progress.

Suggestion: Have the tutorial pop-up for lower ranks only.  Higher ranking members should already have a good, if not general understanding of the game. If they don't then they were not paying attention as they moved  up in rank.  Having the tutorial for lower ranks only, makes the game more of a challenge for higher ranking members, in terms of skill/knowledge.  Those who have, as opposed to those who do not.

Why does it pop up in the garage when changing equipment during MM play? Time is of the essence. It is very distracting when in the heat of the battle.

well, it's not too bad of a tutorial it's quite helpful really because it tells new players like me everything I need to know, the issue I have is wouldn't it be confusing for newcomers like me to receive hulls and turrets from containers, I just think it'd be not so confusing if you can purchase every turret and hull in the garage menu instead of obtaining them through containers and rank ups so

The contextual tutorial isn't really helpful. It is not very interactive and it  will never replace the original tutorial and those missions ;both of them  literally have no idea on how to make a new player who knows nothing understand the  game . And obviously everyone knows that the old real tutorial can't be replaced by this.

hope the devs understand

releasing more and more unwanted BUYER-FRIENDLY turrets and hulls and other items is not our mistake . 

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING: first release a proper new trailer for the game.

and try to make the old tutorial again.

This is my feedback.

not intreasted in reading anything more then I need to. for me I would rather get into a battle and leave when missions are completed. it's takes too much of my real life time away to spend reading stuff I already know from the wiki.

Oh wait is this how your now going to get rid of the Wiki section ?

also for the new map forest / not a fan of it due to the map seems smaller and the walls have too many cut flat box like edges , there's very little blending the edges into the surroundings . the graphics -  logs / trees  are the only good part of it
