Patch Update #703 - Released 14th October 2022

  • A new augment for Scorpion has been added to the Ultra Containers — «Incendiary shells»

    • (Note) There are two ways this augment ignites a target: critical damage from an arcade shot and any damage from a rocket salvo.

  • The default skin of the Ricochet turret updated to the new HD version

  • An experimental change: Smoky got an increase in projectile radius from 1 to 2 meters

    • (Note) This may affect projectiles flying over tanks, when an aiming system launches it in the direction of a turret, not a hull, or not. We need your feedback to find out if this change is helpful. We do not plan to fix this behavior completely, as it is a part of game balance for turrets with such projectile mechanics.

  • Updated Scorpion’s rocket shot effect

    • (Note) It's not just a cosmetic fix, it should also have a positive effect on the performance. We tested it on a situation when there are more than 30 rockets launched at the same time.

  • Updated Skin containers: added GT skins and Scorpion XT

  • Updated shop prices for some regions

Let me guess, it's the tank coins, right? Gonna increase them so that BOSS will spend even more next time when you guys release another super dupper awesome exclusive item

Great, more stalling of the completion of Thunder's new augments, meaning Thunder's garage augments sans Subcalibre Rounds will remain garbage for even more weeks.

So... any disadvantages...? I do not want to imagine 10 rockets lighting me on fire.

What does it mean and what does it do basically?

Basically means it will be a bit easier for your shot to hit an enemy on your screen and on the server. The potential downside of this is this also works on allies so you may end up hitting allies at times when you want to hit enemies. Let's see how it performs after the patch goes live.

Wait. What??! You mean the shot will waver as if we need to account for a crosswind?

In Siege today I was fighting vs ChuTong... he has that Scorpion Incendiary and never set me on fire once, so I guess the critical chance is rare.

I guess I'll see more tomorrow; lol maybe the enemy freeze was cooling me down.

Wonder how that 1m->2m  shell radius will work; I'll let you know if notice something funky.

Would the devs eventually make that reload graphic anim mod for rico xt, rico legacy? I usually use rico legacy, but switched back to HD... well done looks nice

and helps to know when reloaded quickly, thanks.

Since when has the crisis been consuming three first aid kits?

Since the December 10th, 2021.

I don't understand the reference, but while playing in DM, I already had a few BS shots where they missed the target on my screen but I still dealt damage. That happened previously with the 1m radius but it was much more rare than the times I had it in those few battles with 2m.

No, crisis was consuming 1 repair kit and 1 mine per usage. I play crisis non-stop. Today I realized that it started to consuming me 3 repair kits, why there is no information about that?

It has been like that for months now, it was mentioned in the Patch Notes #672 (December 10th, 2021). I play Crisis since the day I first got it too, which was on 25th December 2020.

Rico hd best looking hd so far and rockets looks better now i think, only if you worked on game balance like you do on looks.

Players are so stupidly obsessed with looks, thats why tanki creates more new skins/shot effects/maps every week.

Game is so unbalanced that they have to host ultra weekends every week to ensure F2P players can atleast survive..

I don't notice a difference. Ever since the Jack in the box update, it is common for my FPS to drop by the ending of the first game after launching the app instead of on the second or third. This update doesn't change that even when there are multiple Scorpions in a battle. This is all on the lowest graphics settings.

So far it has been an improvement when fighting enemies. I have still had one or two shots that would phase through a Paladin's hitbox near the turret but the hit rate against them has improved. Shooting at enemies that are near tank corpses has now become a pain.  The other con is for mobile players. After the projectile conversion in 2021, mobile players started receiving higher impact force from enemy and ally Smoky projectiles. With this 2m radius update, that has noticeably worsened.

Assault Rounds - better hit rate, but is still lacking as an augment. No critical damage, same range as Stock, inability for me to even use the impact force because the impact force never works when I hit enemies.

High-Precision Aiming System - better hit rate but the slower projectile speed unnecessarily brings it down. The 2m radius unfortunately cannot save it in that regard.

Supercumulative Rounds - better hit rate, but the aforementioned tank corpse issue affects this one a lot due to the ability to miss a critical hit with it and having to build up a critical hit for a longer period.

Status Smokies - better hit rate, still strong and reliable.

Autocannon - better hit rate. It has become much more comfortable to use this augment in its effective range, however there is still the issue of its damage output and projectile speed being intentionally low. It's time for it to be useful again.

Sorted Ammunition - better hit rate, but this one suffers similarly to Supercumulative Rounds. Not only is it easier to unintentionally miss critical hits (you know when they happen and sometimes plan around that), it has to deal with the ever growing number of Armadillo modules. Even a low upgrade can have negative interaction changes with this augment. If any augment somehow became less comfortable to use with this buff, it's this one.

Definitely notice the improvement in battles now, where there are a lot of rockets in the air, there doesn't seem to be a latency increase now, will test out Smoky too, had noticed that happening with shots from time to time.
