Add more stuff (besides mines) that can be put on the map

I tried to come up with some ideas myself for things that can both damage enemies and protect allies. I'm not sure if they are good at all but I'm sure you get the gist of the concept at least, so what does people think of it?

Some ideas

- Different types of mines (EMP mine, freeze-status effect mine, a claymore-like mine that uses a laser, etc....)

- Ice stains (Are placed by a player and causes enemies to lose traction and slide when driving on the ice stain. Can stop enemies from driving up on a slope or cause a tank that's chasing you to slide off the edge of a cliff. Disappears quickly)

- Oil stains (Covers smaller area than ice stains but gets stuck to an enemies treads so that they have bad traction for a while when driving)

- Spanish riders, dragon teeth (These things are from real life and were used to stop a tank's path. Takes a while to deploy and have a health bar and can be destroyed)

- Deployable cover (Could look either like a concrete wall or a sandbag wall. Lets tanks hide behind it for cover while shooting through gaps. Takes a while to build so it can be used to reinforce a defensive position ahead of time. Has a health bar and can be destroyed)

- Sensory devices (Like a cheap version of Hornet's OD. Are placed on the map and will show the silhouettes of enemies but only when the are infront of the sensor. Warns teammates of this if they're looking in another direction)

What about hovering hulls?

Easy — it's a "quantum" oil stain that affects tanks even if they hover over it  4l0jtj.jpg

Quantum oil stains sounds very plausible. Or it's the aliens.

Did that include the tanks that could hover/fly/and jump on top of buildings.

This is a game which is why the devs can get away with so many ridiculously, stupid, useless idea's/updates.

Status effect mines are something that developers already have in mind,

What a surprise. There lunacy has no limits.

Not a fan. We already have more than enough non-sense to deal with in battles.

They won't get effected. Simple as that. Let's not pretend like it's not already filled with intentional (hazel literally said it in a random V-LOG) buffs that make flying trashcans hulls way more OP than they should be. This would be just another "woopsie daisy" flying hulls got buffed update.

So the hover hulls just "slips" in battle?

I have no idea how this oil thing is meant to work. It could just slow tanks down, cause them to spin, or maybe mess up the controls for a bit so that driving straight becomes difficult. Anyway, an oil spill seems a bit too low-tech. Something like a "Disruptor Mine" fits better thematically, implying that it messes with the tank's internal systems.

In FF12, there's a status effect called oil that once inflicted onto the target, then fire attacks become more damaging against that target. So maybe it could do one of those things?

It could. There's a huge number of options for how it could work and interact with other gameplay elements. The difficulty is in deciding which option would make it an interesting and balanced addition to the game. That's the job of a game designer.

Another thing they could have is STICKY spots that slow the tank, I think that would be good for ctf sure slow down flag runners.

Or have temp WALL BARRIERS that have Hitpoints, I would love to see this.

Or SMOKE SCREENS / FOG...

But the more you add I think it would lag slow down players with older computers; but would add something new to the game.
