I have a major idea...

Recommended Posts

Let's get rid of moderators!

They are never around when you need them: every battle has players not playing, hiding, watching or completely unable to make any sense. They get voted a trillion times, but does a moderator ever arrive? Never ever.

And then, after half an hour that these pseudo players make you losing, they report you for the outburst and the moderator, who never did his job in first place, bans you.

Anonymous moderators are completely useless to the battle fairness and are damaging outside the battles. Out!

While I agree that there are many players, whose contribution to the team effort is questionable at best, banning them outright is not always the correct solution. Some of those players may be physically incapable of playing better, and their poor performance does not have malicious intent. Banning them would be unfair, so instead, the Matchmaking system tries to put the same number of such players on each team.

Battle moderators do exist and they are active. However, you need to understand that they are volunteers without predetermined work hours, so sometimes there are not enough of them available to deal with all reports. Besides, if I remember correctly, multiple players (a certain percentge of the team) have to report someone in order for the report to be submitted, so your reports may be unseen if you're the only one reporting.

Battle moderators are also different from chat moderators — they are two separate teams, each dealing with their own reports. Seeing someone play badly is not an excuse to start breaking chat rules, so don't be surprised when your outbursts lead to a chat ban. It's also worth noting that chat and battle reports are processed differently. For a ban to be issued for a battle violation, a battle moderator needs to respond to a report and see the violation in real time, while for chat, certain words and phrases trigger an automatic reporting system and a snapshot of the chat conversation gets sent to a chat moderator for review, so the ban can be issued 20-30 minutes after the actual conversation took place.

First: one smart mod! I did not know there were different mods for chat and battles. Second: when they get the chat report, do they see a considerable amount of text leading to my insults, or do they only see my insults to the guy that blocked me with the flag a couple of times or that camped all time in spite of losing, etc etc? Because they would understand that it is impossible to maintain patience with someone that plays only to make the team losing. I appreciate the answer to this because I am curious.

They don't see the context of the battle itself, but I'm pretty sure they get the whole chat log with all necessary context.

It's definitely not impossible. Most people are able to control their urges. In fact, the vast majority of players don't use battle or lobby chats at all.

If they cannot turn their turrets or see any flag, how would they know how to use the chat? ?  Thanks for the explanation.
