Hello parkourists!

It's been a while since there was a parkour tournament. We think it's time to get some action back into the air! Our organizers have created 5 challenges on one specific map for you and your team to complete. Anyone can participate in this tournament, even parkour beginners!

All 5 challenges take place on the Industrial Zone MM map. The first challenge is easy, but gets harder with each challenge. Do you think you have the right knowledge and skills to complete all 5 challenges? Yes? Let's take a look at the details of this unofficial parkour tournament!

General rules

  • A team should consist of 4 team members. The minimum is 2. We recommend using 4, as some challenges require 4 players to complete it.
  • To enter the contest, you must submit a video of your team completing the first challenge. The team members you submit for the first challenge will be your team for all of the challenges.
  • You may use an independent camera person to record your tricks.
  • Once you have made the challenge, please press TAB so the nicknames are visible.
  • Space mode is NOT allowed
  • The entry video should not be edited. The interface of the entry must be visible.
  • All the entries must be uploaded to YouTube and should stay UNLISTED until the specific challenge is over.

Dates

  • The contest will start on the 3th of November 2023, when the first challenge has been published.
  • The new challenge and its survivors will be published on the day of the deadline, at 18:00 UTC+0.
  • Each next challenge will begin on the same day we announce the previous challenge at 18:30 UTC+0.

Important information

This parkour contest is UNOFFICIAL. This means that Tanki has nothing to do with this contest. This unofficial contest does not contain any prizes as Tanki does not support contests held outside of its headquarters. We did our best to give out a small reward to the players who participate, but unfortunately it was a big NO.

It's been a while since there was a parkour contest. We, organizers, thought it would be time for a parkour contest to bring some action to the parkour community. We hope that our volunteer work will be appreciated by the community. If we see that our work is worthwhile, maybe we can organize more contests like this.

If you have any questions regarding this parkour contest, ask them under this topic or contact @Lennard on forum PM.

Sounds good , waiting to see some parkourists flying and hopefully this will be helpful to make official contests in the future. Appreciate your hard work @Lennardand the other helpers that helped make this, unlike our parkour manager just waiting for contests to come alone

Very cool to see a sort of revival of the Parkour Survival contest after so many years. I'm looking forward to potentially participating and seeing how other teams conquer these tricks!

@Lennard Big thanks for organizing this contest, amazing to have parkour back. Let's make more of that!

Good luck to all participants, maybe I will try to compete here as well since it is really good idea and event.

⚠️ Important anouncement! ⚠️

With the most recent update, some major changes have been made regarding the lightweight augments for all hulls. Since there were still a few days left for the first challenge, we decided to postpone this first challenge. We'll have to see if the physics for the lightweight augments stays this way or changes in a few weeks.

This also means that all the challenges we came up with may no longer work...
For now, make sure you follow this topic to stay up to date with news about this contest.

I wanted to get more activity within the parkour community with this contest. But unfortunately things didn't turn out as hoped. We hope everyone understands this situation.

⚠️Announcement⚠️

Since the parkour lightweight augments are back in the game, we will continue with this contest. The teams that submitted an entry do NOT need to retake this challenge.

The deadline for this challenge is Friday, December 8, 18:00 UTC.

I'll create a puplic spreadsheet to track your progress after the weekend.

Good luck to anyone looking to submit an entry!

Congratulations to the final 2 teams who completed all 5 challenges!

PTT on Top - Alfi, Mr.Skiil, Reviced, Helax

Bottom Class - zdochnuta_mucha, Mr.Designer, NosZay, Noice

Now that this contest is over, I would like to get some feedback to improve it for next time. I want to get feedback about:

- Why did/didn't you participate in this unofficial contest?

- Do you want more parkour contests in general?

- What would you like to see different with this contest?

- How difficult were the challenges?

Other feedback is always welcome! If I get a lot of feedback, I will try to convince the community management to hold an official parkour contest, with in-game prizes.

Thank you and goodbye!

1) I participated because I liked PS. More than MoP.

2) I would like an extra yearly parkour contest. MoP is great for showing off your creativity and editing (I suck at both), PS was always about problem solving.

3) Every time that my team failed, it was because of limited time or low interest of my teammates. Sometimes it was a skill issue in combination with limited time, but it still feelt like the main killer. Yes, it's our responsibility to find a reliable team, but sometimes you can do nothing about it.
A possible solution is adding an extra player to teams, but limit how many players can be present in each challenge (max. team size minus 1), so that it's more likely enough players will be available for each challenge, and the team is not punished if one person can't play for a few days.
4) Since we did only first 2, I didn't get to try the following ones. They sounded somewhat difficult, but I believe most of parkourists could do all of them.

It was really refreshing to have a parkour contest after all those years. I'm very glad you have decided to hold a contest by yourself since nobody else was able to do it during the last few years.
To answer all of your questions - I participated because just recording videos for clubs gets quite repetetive and boring if there is nothing else in between. Contests have always been a way to truly test your skills, see how good you are and compete with other parkourists. And yes, I would love to see more contests of any kind in future. When it comes to the challenges, they were quite easy. Maybe it's also because HTML parkour works a bit differently than Flash parkour and I think it made the challenges even easier. It's really unfortunate that you didn't manage to get prizes for participants of the contest (even though it doesnt matter for me if there are any) because I believe it would make more people motivated to participate and also make them try harder.
We all appreciate your effort and hopefully we will see another contest in the near future.

1) Challegne 2 should've been harder , by harder I don't mean that you will need to be lucky to land however you need to use your mind to find a solution. ( like PS 2018 2nd challenge , the future map one. Having all tanks upside down )

2) Challenge 3 was medium ( could've been harder ).

3) Challenge 4 was good enough , I had to work my mind for sometime until I had an idea ( not allowing ricochet turrets was a good move )

4) Challenge 5 was easy ( easier then 3rd I would say ) you could make harder challenge without the need for luck based landing

( Even tho I didn't take part but just talking from an experince )

- Why did/didn't you participate in this unofficial contest?

I participated because I really miss such competitions in this game and as an old parkour organizer I have to say that I want these competitions to be done regularly

- Do you want more parkour contests in general?

Yes, parkour is the thing I do most and enjoy most in this game, and I can say that about a lot of people. Everyone is waiting for the opportunity to get a blaze or top class and everyone would like to remember the old days

- What would you like to see different with this contest?

I wouldnt change anything everything was fine

- How difficult were the challenges?

On the whole it was easy
