Defender Drone

Hi,

Is the defender drone nerfed? For last two weeks, I feel that my hull is  getting massacred easily irrespective of the hull. Even inside the titan  dome, some times I get shot with a single hit even by people who does not use crisis or booster.  I have my drone at max level and use certain hulls at max level. Whatever the hull at max level only I use 99%

I am at legend 18 level, but what is the difference between people at higher level except the level? Is the players at higher level more powerful it kill easily . ( as you know match making battles are not really match making and some times you get newbies too )

It sounds like you are dying while being under the affliction of the Armour-Piercing status effect. That status temporarily removes the effects of additional armour. That includes:

• Boosted Armour supply
• Extra Armour status (Defender and Crisis drones)
• Protection Modules
• Titan Dome (Overdrive)

 

In the heat of battle, it is not uncommon to be dealt fatal damage immediately as you get afflicted with the status. Sometimes it is hard to spot. There are also the Pulsar status augments that apply 4 status effects at once, AP included. 

 

Additionally, you can get be instantly killed by other means:

• Hopper Overdrive (damage is getting nerfed in the current patch)
• Hunter Overdrive 
• Crusader Overdrive
• Ares Overdrive (explosion damage)
• Blaster Hull Augment (only available for Wasp currently)

@Romantically But my questions not about the dome. Nowadays, it happens with most of the turrets irrespective of the augments

@TheCongoSpider Not really. The protection is at max level still get hit. Are you saying everyone comes with AP augment and I am not getting message as AP? Did I mention about OD anywhere?

I am saying that there are multiple ways for the AP status effect to be inflicted on someone in a battle and that it is often not easy to spot when it happens because sometimes you die too quickly to notice it. Because of this, you have some players complaining that they they sometimes die too quickly and they do not know why. That is one of the reasons why.

You feel as though your Defender drone was nerfed/isn't working. Those Overdrives are ways for a player to counter the Defender drone. It is why I included it in the response. You asked why and we told you exactly what is happening. If you do not think it is that, you can do us a favour and record a snippet of your battles when the phenomenon happens. There is only so much that can be conveyed with words.
