Sudden and persistent frame drops in the game

 Share

Recommended Posts

Yesterday, my frame rate in the game was stable at 100+, but today, without any changes, my frame rate suddenly dropped to 60 ±. I checked all the conditions on my computer and there were no issues (other higher load games did not experience frame drops). At the same time, I also checked the settings in the game, Including the "frame rate limit", it remains at 500. I tried to turn off all the additional game graphics effects (which made my graphics look like a mosaic), but it still hasn't improved. It still maintains the same 60+frame rate as turning on all the effects, so I guess it's not an issue with my hardware configuration and game settings, so where is the problem?

At the same time, I checked my NVIDIA 3D image settings, which showed that the game is using a GPU instead of a CPU, and I am unable to troubleshoot any further issues.

Addendum: The situation occurred on January 1, 2024 at 0:00. I took a photo with over twenty players on the "Old Year 2015" map to celebrate the new year. The next day, it was like this. (At that time, there were quite a few landmines on the map, but I don't think the problem would lie here.)

Adding again: Interestingly, the issue of frame drops has been present before, but it disappeared after I played the game in full screen mode (F11), and this time both full screen and windowing were of no use

Sounds like you have some kind of V-Sync activated. Do you have a 60 Hz panel? The game usually limits your FPS to your refresh rate.

By the way, going higher than your refresh rate just puts unnecessary stress on your hardware, and you shouldn't be able to notice much of a difference anyway.

My monitor is 144Hz, but setting the maximum frame rate in the game to less than 144 has not changed the situation. As for vertical synchronization, it seems that this option is not available in the game? I checked my NVIDIA 3D settings and it shows that it is turned off.

Was your monitor somehow set to 60 Hz? You can check that in the driver settings or by right clicking the desktop -> display settings -> advanced display settings, at the bottom.

The FPS-Limiter doesn't work for me either, I'm just leaving that on 500.
