"Tanki Classic" release

@EagleChappie I do not engage in any other game (one rip off is quite enough thankyou) so my scathing words, of which I have posted many are aimed (rightly so) at this game.

I have seen what it has become to what it should have been and "scam" fits the narrative of this game to a T.

The overriding factor in this game is greed and the ability of the dev team to almost always get it wrong when it comes to the mechanics of the game. I said "get it wrong" but really getting it wrong from a players perspective is getting it right from the devs perspective. 

Let's remember that just about everything that players hate about the game was intentionally put into the game by the devs, to make cash, no other reason.

The changes they have made over the years has had a detrimental effect on most players accounts.

Nefarious is the word I associate with the devs and their paymasters.

Other than that and about a million other complaints I could have mentioned, GREAT GAME.

They had to ask for money in advance or Classic was dead?

And (as of today) there still is no release date for Classic?

 

But for--what was it? 5-7 months? They still acted like Classic was going to happen.

I will bet you one thousand (of whatever your currency is) that there will be another 'pay or Classic is dead' moment in the near future.

Tanki Classic augments explained in more detail. Information for those who haven't watched #531 episode of the V-LOG and/or don't want to do it:

  • Each skin variation for turrets (XT, LC, PR) will mimic augment behaviour. Which means they will "recreate spirit" of classic augments. Most of them are in Rare Category, but some are from Legendary Category "when balance permits". For example:
  1. Smoky XT and LC will get settings similar to classic Assault Rounds augment (for XT skin of Smoky) and Supercumulative Rounds augment (for LC skin of Smoky), which was shown in that episode of  V-LOG.
  2. Striker XT will get settings recovering  Missle Launcher "Uranium" augment
  3. Thunder LC will get settings of Sledgehammers Rounds augment
  4. Railgun PR will get settings of Death Herald compulsor augment
  5. Isida LC will get settings of Vampire nanobots augment
  • Tanki returned to philosophy, which says that "Skins aren't upgraded turrets, they are alternative version of them with unique behaviour".
  • Obtaining skins there won't be quick. To reach Railgun XT skin you need to reach Brigadier rank first, which takes more than 3 months to reach it. Emphasizing that all this to get ONE skin.
  • Skins aren't OverPowered (OP) they make character and meaning that matches their rarity to make a satisfaction feeling like purchasing turret itself and making that progression more meaningful

Now they tuning more than 40 skin variations of skin augments for other turrets. Including:

a) Electromagnetic Accelerator "Scout" for Railgun

b) Heavy Capacitors for Shaft

c) Plasma Torch for Ricochet

d) Duplet for Hammer

and many more... [No specifics given]

Alterations don't outperform their base turrets.

Another V-LOG and another Information regarding Tanki Classic

  • Early Access phase is over, special offers for it are no longer available
  • Next phase is going to take time (they didn't give any specific dates)
  • Introducing new section to V-LOGs called "Classic Development Diary". That section will tell about how Tanki Classic is being developed step by step.

First information regarding progression:

  1. Player's Garage in lobby is prepared and loaded + spinning and displaying assembled tank.
  2. Lobby and setting screens are being gradually assembled. They aren't perfect, there might be incorrectly displayed texts, temporary parameters of turrets or incorrect icons.
  3. Main task is to make equipment preview and correct display in garage. Some tanks looks the same as it is in T.O
  4. Game hints are ready in 90%. Those hints won't have text, because "images speak for themselves"
  5. Classic drops are almost ready. Drop zones got redrawn, boxes have old look and parachutes are being added. Cargo drones will disappear.
  6. Sound effects when activating supplies and when supplies drop will be replaced.

Green text means completed/done.

Orange text means work in progress/not yet done.

Blue text means it's planned and not working on it yet.

Tanki Classic news about textures and models.

  • The model format, which is going to be used for TC is FBX. It's already being used in T.O. 
  • Most of the original textures got optimized. They look cleaner and more precise.
  • Weapons in garage are in their places and display correctly.
  • Adding all turrets and hulls has been completed.
  • Garage got more detailed. Old texture got scoured, reassembled and baked in high quality. Now we can see small inscriptions and elements. Looks the same, but without unnecessary compresion.
  • The "favourite" icon is available for turrets and hulls, not only paints. If you click on favourite equipment, it will appear first on the list.
  • Programmers optimize Classic to make sure it runs quickly and stable. Reviving old code (from almost 7 years ago) isn't that easy. It's not that they redo every piece of code. Work is essential to have all modern features there and guarantee long-term support for years.
  • Steam page appeared for TC in August and you can add it there to wishlist.  <---- (I guess everyone knows it [perhaps])

Tanki Classic news about missions and challenge tiers.

A. Missions

  • Screen for daily and weekly missions along with challenge tab is completed in 90%
  • There are 3 daily missions, which don't change and offer:
  1. 5 Stars
  2. Total of 10 units of each five supplies (10 Mines, 10 Boosted Damage, 10 Boosted Speed, 10 Boosted Armour and 10 Repair kits)   
  • There are 3 weekly missions, which give:
  1. 10 Stars
  2. 1 Container

B. Challenges

  • Divided into Silver and Gold Tiers
  • Lasts entire month
  1. Silver Line contains: 17 Containers, 2600 Crystals, 30 units of each supply and 1 Gold Box
  2. Gold Line contains: 51 Containers, 7800 Crystals, 90 units of each supply and 3 Gold Boxes
  • Stars are earned ONLY via completing missions
  • Consists of 50 levels, most concentrated rewards are in first 40 levels, for example:
  1. Gold Box is in Level 39
  2. 10 Containers in Level 40
  3. On further levels there's 100 crystals for Silver Tier and 300 crystals in Gold Tier ("are more like bonuses for the most dedicated players.")

C. Sum questions with calculations

Q: "How many challenge levels will I complete if I play all week?"; "How many supplies will I have on my account if I play all week?"

A: 15 stars/day * 7 days + 30 stars from weekly missions = 135 Stars/week + 13 levels of progress; 50 suppplies per day * 7 days + 50 units from silver tier rewards = 400 supplies/week

D. "Homework" for players:  How many supplies will you have from both tiers in a month? Additional: Calculate how many days are needed to complete entire challenge (Last tier is 49 according to what has been shown to us in V-LOG)

Tanki Classic news regading maps

Divided into 3 categories

a) Maps from both MM and PRO Battles in current Tanki Online.

Theme variations: Summer and Winter as usual. Most of them will get "Legacy version" (still in work to make battles in old graphics with old textures)

Manually insert archive textures into every map needed

b) Old maps and old version of them of T.O (for example Silence I, Silence II, Silence III, Brest I, Brest II, Brest IV mentioned)

Most work with manual placing respawn and drop zones. The task is to save them and make it so HTML5 supports it, some kind of "museum exhibits".

c) Exclusive category/Maps which never were released (for example Gallery, Kingdom, "Mountain")
