Anti-Sabotage System for Toxic Teammates

Recommended Posts

Suggestion:
Many players, including myself, have experienced toxic behavior where a former enemy, now randomly assigned to my team in a new battle, deliberately sabotages my gameplay. They block my shots, shooting on me, push me into enemy lines, or just harass me out of spite.

Proposed solutions:

  • Add a temporary mute/block-and-report system that flags such players for review if enough reports are submitted.
  • Introduce a detection mechanism for team-interference behavior (e.g., prolonged blocking or pushing teammates).
  • Apply a penalty or cooldown to those flagged for repeated sabotage, similar to AFK detection.

Why it matters:

  • It ruins the match not just for the target, but for the whole team.
  • It discourages bullying and harassment in-game.
  • It fosters a healthier and more respectful gameplay environment.
  • Prevents bad actors from exploiting random team assignments to settle personal scores.

Team sabotage should not be an accepted part of Tanki gameplay. With proper measures, we can protect fair competition and team integrity.

Declined

We already have a report option present in the battle, solely for reporting the gameplay that may potentially break the rules such as sabotage and other 3rd party usage.

As for the penalty and cooldown, the team of moderators takes appropriate action and the punishments are additive in nature depending on the frequency and the severity of the violations committed by the tanker.

Team sabotage and any harassment is never accepted as part of the gameplay.

It's already the case, sabotage is punishable. If enough players report another player, then the chances for a review are higher.

Yes, but think about special cases, what about tanks being stuck in a tunnel, what about new players being flipped and simply do not know how to self-destroy, what about players making their own in-game event where you actually have to push a teammate off a bridge for example, what about parkour battles, what about eSports where you have to wait a specific time before actually start the match, but pushing is allowed in order to take the overdrive box for example. There are a lot of exceptions, it's not that easy, a human check will always be better for such things, you'd get an insane amount of false positive.

I believe most users are very much aware of what there is in place and that is why there is a request for something that works...

Like Sabry mentioned, I don't think an auto sabotage system could ever work. Sabotage isn't about stats or moving patterns but about intent, right? How do you expect a bot to understand intent better than a human can?
