Thunder: Viking or Mammoth?

Hi! I have thunder, viking and mammoth, all m0. But i dont know what tank to use. Viking is good because i can go for flags and resist hits. But i can get them with mammoth too, i'm slower but they have a big time to kill me. What do you think is the best tank of this both to use with Viking and why?

Stick with Mammoth. If you can get it to M3, it is INDESTRUCTIBLE. Mammoth and Thunder is a born pairing.

 

PS I will have M3 Mammoth soon :p

Mammoth is better in DM and at drugwars - it's getting a bigger bonus from First Aid and Double Armor. Thanks to its armor you'll be able to stay on firing position longer and get more kills.

 

Viking is a versatile solution, better used in TDM and CTF. By using its speed and agility you'll be able to both support attacks on enemy base and play as a defender. Having a Viking M3 you'll be able to play with any turret with no restrictions.

 

I have both hulls M3 and still play mostly on Viking. Even in DMs. For me more speed = more fun. But Mammoth + Thunder on Highland map is magnificent.

i just equipped my mammoth and it's true, it is really slow...the game gets bored. let get viking m3 and a good paint so.

Mammoth is good in CTF, but it lacks speed to quickly rush forward and help your team with the attack. That's what Viking actually can.

 

With Viking you can quickly change the position in case if your flag is stolen and you have to snipe down enemy caper. With Mammoth you should be very good in selecting decent positions for defending your flag. Viking has more speed, hence it is more forgiving. Speed = armor.

 

Also you don't really need than amount of armor Mammoth has when playing CTF or TDM. Though having better speed is always helpful.

 

Mammoth isn't really slow, in terms of speed Mammoth M3 is similar to Hunter M3. But it's still 50% slower compared to Viking.

 

For me Viking is an ideal universal solution. Mammoth has its strong points, in some cases it's way better than Viking, but to get maximum advantage of it you should focus on using these strong points. If you prefer Deathmatches over team games, like playing as a defender in CTF and you're a drugger, then Mammoth is an obvious choice. But if you're a CTF man, you like dynamic fights helping your teammates to attack enemy base, and chase enemy capers, etc. than choosing Viking seems like better solution.

I got both at M3, And I'll have to say even though Mammoth sounds nice with the 200 HP but I just happen to get better ratio and contribution to the team when I use Viking. Of course the paint is Prodigi. :mrgreen:

Again, Mammoth. Trust me, M3 is indestructible.

Trust me, m3 mammoth costs a lot .. Im using viking with thunder and i am happy about that. ofc iv never tried mammoth, but still think that viking > mammoth. its my playing style.

I don't agree, cause maybe the Viking is good, but it gets killed very fast, so take Mammoth. Then you can make more kills, less deaths: High D/L.

Mammoth suits- Thunder, Shaft, Railgun, Rico

 

Viking Suits- Smoky, Firebird, Twins, Railgun, Isida, Thunder, Freeze, Rico, Shaft

 

But Mammoth is still better.

Sorry for bumping, but as you all know about rebalance, what are your views on the choice of hull with thunder now.

 

Is viking still a good choice for thunder when it comes to versatility?

 

No question about mamoth, it is so slow now that you can't do anything else than camping.

 

Other tanks : hunter, dictator and titan have been improved and can't be ignored for the choice of hull with thunder.

The M3 version of mammoth is faster then it was before.

But unlocked at the highest rank. :mellow:

 

Viking is good, but I think hunter can do the job better.

It has a bit less armor; but much more speed.

Dictator has the best stats, but it's big and you will annoy your team mates; blocking their aim.

And yet again;these last two hulls are unlocked at a very high rank.

 

If you don't have the patience to get there, or not the money to buy the XP points, I would go with viking.

 

But if you want to camp; go with mammoth... titan is faster, but still to slow to get flags.

Do you think that they have changed the angle of fire for Thunder? I think it has been restricted, its different from what it was at the start of the RB..

I see no difference in the rebalance.

 

Dictator M3 = 3 - 4 Shots to kill with Thunder M3.

Hunter M3 = 3 - 4 Shots to kill with Thunder M3 :l (Used to be 2)

Viking M3 = 4 - 5 Shots to kill with Thunder M3

Wasp M3 = 2 - 3 Shots to kill with Thunder M3

Titan M3 = 4 - 6 Shots to kill with Thunder M3 (This is the only tank that has a truly higher HP)

Mammoth M3 = 6 -8 Shots to kill with Thunder M3

Frankly I dont see any point in the rebalance. Its a rip-off.
