Why not? He is very mature and helpful and has posted over 1000 messages and 30 topics, he is a high rank (major) and 90% of his posts are true and useful. I think he'd make a great moderator so stop criticizing him.

NO they wouldn't. They criticize everything. They absolute hate me, and soon as they get the chance they would ban me for a month. They don't really help others, they just annoy them. Nuclearbom would be a good mod. I have said it in the last post.

Umm this is my noob account. And I have played this game far more than you and nuclear combined. -.- And I don't think kids should be moderating our forums and chat. Why do driver licences, drinking age, credit card holders, bank users have to be at least 16-21 years old? Because that's the age society considers people to be mature enough to make the correct choices. A kid who's 12 hasn't yet experienced life much and he certainly shouldn't be a moderator. If kids could become mods with bad ban history, imagine how much would be eligible. I think it's good that they have 18-21 year old people to get accepted as a mod. And trust me there are people who are marshal and have never been banned or just for flood but when they look at your application, I doubt they will deny you if you have been banned for flood once or twice. Say nuclear gets accepted, which I doubt he will in the next 3 years, what kind of an example would that show to the rest of us? If a mod has been banned countless of times, why can't anyone else?

I'm risking a permenant ban here for nuclearbom (SO PLEASE DONT BAN ME), but I am also suffering this problem. The servers are messy, the complaints' are messy. We need more moderators. The thing is, lay off nuclearbom; He is only trying to improve this game epicly. First I was PM'ing my oppinion, but now I really need to post it since so many people don't get it.

 

The reason the servers are so failing, full of flood, spamming, scams, profanity, insults, link flooding, offensive behaviour and flaming is because there are practically no moderators on patroll. Me and nuclearbom want to be a moderator so we can keep the servers in shape. THATS ALL THERE IS, NOTHING ELSE... so don't bring in your silly texts like "You only want to be a moderator so you can ruin the forums, and ban everyone forever then be the king of the game". No that's just far off it. WE ONLY WANT TO HELP because as I have already mention its under CHAOS.

 

I am posting in this section under reason, so I don't deserve a ban under posting stupid messages in the complaints' section. Plus you would have to ban everyone else.

 

Now I am not discussing the moderators' work or anything rudely, they do a fine job in the forums, and I don't blame them becaues the ingame is quite difficult to just sit there banning people... But me and nuclearbom just want to help out the servers since they are in a mess lately. Over 20 topics have been made in the last 4 days.

Anyway, I disagree with you. I think the requirements need to be as strict as they are now, but there needs to be some sort of reward in becoming a moderator. Right now, we just don't have enough people moderating, and the majority of people who could won't because they think this game isn't worth it. This game isn't good enough for the majority of the players to volunteer to sacrifice their time without any apparent reward on the other side. If you were to entice people with a slight reward but still have high requirements, you would have more adequate people applying and, in the end, more moderators.

 

Now, ban history. Although ban history should be considered, the reasons for some bans are (imo) stupid. The whole thing about posting in the complaints section is completely ridiculous; some of the bans in other places are annoying as well. So, ban history should be taken into account, but you should not distribute bans so much.

The reason why our forum is getting worse is because you're here criticizing them 10 times a day. Maybe the moderators aren't involved in tanki so much but in the forum trying to keep things in shape. Almost 80% of the things you say are negative and criticizing. 90% of the posts you say are false. If you think you are the best in the world and famous, lets see you become a moderator.

This ^ :evil: Everyone has been banned. EVERYONE. It's a natural thing of this game being banned so you learn and improve. I am sure even koolwalky and dingus have been banned before. And you don't need to horribly insult nuclearbom's actions, he is great. Far better than you, and better than myself. He deserves the moderator, and you're probably just scared about this game being sorted out.

Why would I want to be a moderator? As I just said, there's nothing in it for me; perhaps if there was some incentive, more people would apply. Now, about the whole criticizing thing. I fully think that to improve, people need to be pointed out their mistakes, if you keep making mistakes, I'm going to keep pointing them out. Normally, I try to do it constructively, but I admit that sometimes I'm having a bad day, and just say "this is lame". For that, I guess I'm sorry.

 

But anyway; on to the topic of moderators. Although I'm sure there are many mature twelve and thirteen year-olds, Tanki has no way of knowing if you are one; it is ultimately up to them, and begging them repeatedly won't get you anything

I've noticed that it's way too hard to become a Chat Moderator or a Forum Moderator. Like 1Almost has a ban history less then 5 bans when he/she has been active till Third Lieutenant. Like me, I am maybe having a bad Ban History, but I am motivated and experienced. I think that one should be skipped when someone has all the other requirements. I also think that when someone is younger then 21, that that doesn't mean that he/she has no responsibility. Those ones should be made more open, because otherwise only 1 moderator in 6 months will join, while others are leaving.

 

I just want to admit this, because I am really looking for a 'job' on Tanki Online, but Chat Moderator is not possible, 2due to my Ban History and age, 1while my English is great.

 

Please work on this, because I can not wait before I can get to work for Tanki Online! :wink:

This might be the last thread I close for quite a while, so I might as well give some good reasons here.

 

We don't have a strict age requirement, we have a Maturity requirement. Your maturity is determined by your application. I'll have to say, 100% of the applications that I get in my private messages don't even look mature. The person applying has no idea what he's talking about. I've been a moderator for over an year now, and this is not an easy job. Firstly you make friends, then you make enemies, then those friends turn into enemies, and at the end, you are left with a "small" amount of people that actually respect you for what you have done, and that actually remain your friends throughout this.

 

@nuclearbom, You received around 10 bans, in a one month period, 5 of which were for violations on the forum, you did not learn from your mistake.

What you do on the internet affects your life, whether you like it or not. That is reality. Your behaviour on the internet defines your life. Your actions on the internet can change your life.

 

The only reason we don't have enough moderators can be summed down to the community. If the community was good and nice enough to let new players stay in chat, talk around, play the game and take part in the forum discussions, we would have a lot better ban history, wouldn't we? I'll have to say, I miss 2010.
