If you can get cash fast, get smoky and level it up when you rank up (m3 at staff sergeant preferably). I saw my brother hogree do this, and, for a while, until first sergeant, he epicly owned. If you have smoky m3 it will bring you more cash and that will give you enough to get a higher m railgun/isida/straight to tier two.

On the ruby talk: -Like kool says, it's unlikely the administration want to ruin their own game to make themselves a little bit richer. In the long-term, ruining their game will not make them richer but poorer. -Secondly, who knows anything about rubies except that they will be used to buy m3 equipment? They might actually not be hard to get by normal playing. Yes, they will get a bit more of an advantage to buyers than at present, but, personally, I don't see anything wrong with that. If I was a maker of an online game like tanki, I would want to make as many incentives as possible for people to pay.

I have to +1 this. Thanks, tanki, for the 50 boxes. I did not get any and I only experienced two, but the whole idea is great. I am dissapointed that they no longer exist, but they were great while they lasted. (Although I don't +1 the arab bit as I'm not arab)
